>d-pad control for a game that was made for Nintendo's first ever take on analog movement
>dedicated run button
It's fucking shit. Also making 4 characters with part of Mario's natural 64 moveset was a terrible idea.
>bitching about d-pad control
get gud bitch nigga
>Also making 4 characters with part of Mario's natural 64 moveset was a terrible idea.
Yep. They just made every character worse than Mario was in the original so you'd be forced to switch between them.
The new levels are also unimaginably shitty and they ruined the physics and movement mechanics.
pic related is why the original SM64 was good. you don't have even remotely the same kind of speed or freedom in DS.
>muh speedrunning
Ya know, sometimes all I wanna do when I come home from work is to just play the game. What's the rush?
>sometimes all I wanna do when I come home from work is to just play the game
more movement depth, freedom and speed makes playing the game more fun. what's not to understand?
Ever tried mobile gaming? It suits you
>mobile gaming
It's hardly gaming.
Obviously
*taps on nose*
Windwaker
But Luigi is objectively the best character in the game and is better than mario in the original
Sonic Adventure DX and SA2 Battle for the Chao connectivity
Play on 3ds then.
I think it's simply playing on a SNES pad, but I thought the original game felt more responsive.
I also like the original aesthetics a bit more, but the DS is very good looking too.
They ruined the lighting
10/10
Still doesn't circumvent the dedicated run button issue, and the 3DS when playing DS games just fakes d-pad movement anyway.
It might actually be worse on 3DS.
bad bait
>bait
kill yourself. it is better than the original. and that is a FACT!
no
...
Still easily the best mainline Pokemon games.
How did they manage to get everything so right in the remakes.
>Level curve still fucked.
The game is good but goddamn, it was really hard rebalance the entire damn thing again?
>implying anything past gen 2 is playing
le trumpet water island was the downfall of the series.
too bad its still shit
Bad bait or good bait? I can't tell.
Tetris DS is surprisingly the best version of Tetris ever made.
Can't you get analog-like control by using the touch screen?
The original has faster movement. They also nerfed a lot of the abilities in Ultra, like plasma and jet.
Touch controlling is even worse. You should only do it for really precise moments if at all.
No it's fucking not. Grandmaster series is the best Tetris by far.
No.
...
You start, OP
Fucking seconded, this game was awesome.
The only reason why I'd say DS is better is because you don't have to use the shitty N64 controller
literally the only good pokemon game
Is there a way I can play this with proper analog controls?
>not using the patch
youtube.com
...
(You)
>find super mario 64 ds online
>holy shit i need this
>the ds doesn't have an analog stick
>lol how the fuck are you supposed to play this then
>see the 2ds is pretty cheap and has an analog stick
>buy 2ds with mario 64
>still plays like ass
Who playtested this?
This post reeks underage.
>user thinks running the same software on different hardware will magically make it aware of new inputs
I seriously hope you don't defend the Gamecube controller too.
Depends on the game. It is godly for some games, and shitty for others.
I'm curious how some people have this problem and others don't.
I think SM64DS controls fine, but I can also play 2D platformers with an analog controller. It doesn't matter to me, so why can't others? Because they are shit or what?
>It doesn't matter to me, so why can't others? Because they are shit or what?
Yes, your taste is shit.
Shame Gen 2 is shit
More likely it's because you're shit and aren't sensitive to the difference.
You are literally too retarded to notice the difference.
this is what speedrun fags are like
jesus christ
D-pad means only 8 possible directions, which feels and controls extremely shitty on 3D movement.
Joystick on 2D may fuck up some things if the game has especial commands for up and down, it might make you do things you don't want to do, or even stop you in your tracks depending on the game; plus there is no precise movement tapping that the D-pad offers for 2D games.
But overall; this
Wew you're retarded, if anything the game will play even worse on analog.
Never said it doesn't feel different, but completely playable.
Depends on the game and the level of precision it requires. Playing a shmup or a fighter on an analog stick sounds like. I wouldn't lose sleep over playing Tetris that way.
Well some people find it acceptable to have games drop below 20 fps. People have different standards.
Speedrunning is an additional challenge for people who have really mastered a game and want to put their skills to the test.
For single player games with a high skill ceiling, robust speed-building and momentum-conserving mechanics and a variety of different routes through the world such as Sanic or Super Metroid I can definitely see the appeal of speed running. When you've played the game that many times, what else is left to do?
Which doesn't matter when it can be emulated and is on two different consoles' VC.
>we will never have a proper SM64 remake that just pretties it up and gives it a slightly better camera
that's fucking all it needs
>Have the chance to fix everything wrong with gen 2
>Don't even do it
Why is GF such fucking garbage?
Truly? was thinking of getting despite having the wii version.
bonus levels and stars would be pretty cool.
>the shitty N64 controller
the n64 controller is fine. get a good used one, lube it up, and it'll last you 2000 hours of gameplay before it goes bad.
people whine about the joystick, but it's objectively one of the most precise joysticks with the biggest step and angle range.
The Wii version is the worst of the three different versions.
It was good but the controls were kind of meh. Using the D pad is just weird compared to an analog stick. Fuck the touch screen controls the game offers.
This game would have been better on the 3DS.
>there is no precise movement tapping that the D-pad offers for 2D games
sure there is. if the sensitivity is high enough it's even more precise than a dpad because you only have to tilt it like half a millimeter as opposed to pressing a completely separate button that's a centimeter away.
Wii U version is easily the best. It doesn't have the shitty motion controls of the Wii version, is 1080p and16:9, has reduced tears of light, gives you a bigger wallet at the beginning, and has a touch screen button to transform into wolf Link so you don't need to talk to Midna constantly. Also has touch screen inventory and map obviously. And it has both the original Gamecube perspective and the flipped Wii perspective (through Hero mode). The hard mode is a nice challenge if you have the Ganondorf amiibo.
Mandatory GOAT remake
not him but why not just emulate TP and use filters and textures
That sheikah village shootout was the best part of the game, and the closest the game ever got to being Great.
Too many A presses
...
stale meme
good game
>that face
He knows.
Easiest Pokemon game by far, and that's even counting X/Y.
Kanto is just so fucking boring until Blue. Lv. 40's original Elite Four, are you shitting me?
>Easiest Pokemon game by far, and that's even counting X/Y.
>any game being easier than X/Y
you're trying too hard
...
This is the final gym leader of Johto.
Better watch out for those 2 Dragonaires, motherfucker. Lv. 38 Gyarados? Shit son.
Space invaders on the DS is great
I enjoyed ds.
Only complaints I had was the colors looked washed out and the controls wernt as good but I still had fun with it.
>Space Invaders Extreme 2
>that loli stage
LET'S PLAY
Pic related is the easiest gym leader battle ever
It's a duo battle, you literally can end the entire fight in one turn just by using Surf
>b-but Ruby and Sapphire
OoT Remastered
Turok 1 (and soon 2)
Final Fantasy 4
>meanwhile the PSP version of Riviera was shit with ugly upscaled and filtered graphics and worse saving mechanics
Sorry, these guys got it right.
Gen 2 had core problems that HGSS simply ignored, compared to FRLG which took Gen 1's problems and actually fixed them. I would argue FRLG are better remakes than HGSS, they're only held back by the fact that they were made before several changes were made to core mechanics of Pokemon (physical/special split, etc.). Gen 3's engine is still the best way to play Pokemon to date.
Sonic Adventure DX had a ton of new bugs that the original didn't have. Same with the HD version. Dreamcast one is still the best.
Truth. Gamecube got the best remake ever and the worst (Twin Snakes).
they improved some things like they made climbing to be faster, which is a good thing
you can emulate TP HD anyway
*excluding the controls
this is some serious autism
>le hardcore gaymer
retard
that's why I can only play Pokemon with difficulty hacks like Volt White 2
Gym leaders with only 2 pokemon and that have tail wag and growl isn't fun to play against
Turok
Rune: Classic
Spelunky HD
Yeah, it's surprising how they made TP tolerable with this.
