you should get lost

Director's Cut (regular one, not the Greatest Hits version). Then you might try playing REmake.

thx

Definitely the best way to play RE 1 is to play the director's cut, then go on to REmake so you can appreciate how different and better it is.

Deadly Silence, then REmake.

DS version has Jill that you can touch.

What features did Deadly Silence add that aren't in any of PS1 releases? Never got around to playing it when I had a DS.

Farting clowns version

Nothing special if you ask me.

REmake on PS4.

It's the original release ported. Knife bound to L-trigger, quick reload, skippable doors/cutscenes.

Also has a Rebirth mode instead of Arrange mode from DC, adds more enemies, moves items around, adds gimmicky DS shit too though like touch-screen knife-fights.

Do love having a map on the top screen.

DS version is superior.
Knife is no longer taking up inventory space and is bound to L instead.
Optional Rebirth mode with new DS-exclusive puzzles that involve touchscreen and first person knife defense sections.
Extra costumes.
The good soundtrack (not the tone-deaf shit one).

in the DS vrsion, you can touch jill's tits and ass via touch screen

chris' ass too I guess if you're into that

>Director's Cut
Nope, see why.

DS version is definitive.

There are 3 original RE1 PS releases. Original, Director's Cut, then Dualshock. Dualshock is the clown farting one.

The Non-Dualshock version of the Director's Cut for PS1 doesn't have the butchered music and new spelling errors that the Dualshock one does.

I stand corrected.
Still doesn't have door skipping, quick reloads, quick turns and free knife.

So what's the deal with this guys face and gun? How can you fuck up a shoop so bad?

That's cheating

>Staple features of every game after RE1
>cheating
No, you're just dumb.

But the first game wasn't designed with those features in mind so it's too easy

Someone once explained it that between his facial expression and the gun morphing from an assault rifle, each half of him is from a different point in time, one in which he's shocked/worried and holding a shotgun, and another where he's equipped with a rifle and ready to fight.

This comes across incredibly poorly in execution but I can see the intent if that was truly the case.

Here is a fun fact:

It's not Chris Redfield at all. Its Richard. And it perfectly captures his decent into madness as he is stalked by walking bags of necrotic disease.

Look at his camo pants and orange vest. Its bot Redfield.

Better 3D models and animation, quick turn and L-Knife that doesn't take inventory space.

Also has multiplayer mode, that 's nothing special tho.

DS version is objectively the best.

It's just unfortunate you have to deal with the tiny DS screen.

Emulation exists user, and second screen is only used for map so you can just resize it to a small size and chuck it in a screen corner.

what's the difference between regular and gh?

GH is the Dualshock version with raped audio and translation.

Greatest Hits has fucked up music made by a literal retard. Have a listen

Yeah but that takes away the whole appeal of having an enhanced portable version.

Then fucking play on DSi XL or 3DS XL, it's not hard user.

Anyone know if you can you resize the screen for a DS game on 3DS like you can with PS1 games on Vita or is it locked to the DS aspect ratio?

You can. In fact that's the default mode.
If you want original 1:1 pixel ratio then you need to use special button combination when launching the game.

Nice, thanks.

Looks fine on the 3DS XL. My biggest gripe though is due to the 3DS' shitty d-pad makes tank controls a pain in the ass. I don't remember if the DS one was any better.

I have DSi and can tell you that the D-Pad is equally shit.
In fact 3DS one is slightly more "clicky", it's just that the placement is worse.

Dual Shock version is the one with a new score. For some reason.

By DS we mean the Nintendo DS version, not Dual Shock.

Dreamcast or first psx with fmv

Interesting. Is this just a theory or is it hidden in some obscure Famitsu article or something like that? Because it's a great touch, and explains the retarded shotgun/assault hybrid thing.

If you want an authentic experience then play the original. Director's Cut is fine too. Absolutely do not start with REmake.

Yep, leave REmake for last or you will absolutely hate the original.

Why are there zombies in the painting hall?

You mean Saturn. Dreamcast never got the first RE.

wtf is that gun he's holding?

Some kind of senseless monstrosity morphing from M16, to ???, to generic shotgun.

A shotrifle
