Does it have any redeeming values? What are they?
Fallout 4

It's fun for a few hours
Then you realize you haven't acomplished anything, the game didn't offer anything interesting or special, it's the equivalent to a bag of chips.
Dunno, decent if you wanna sink 20h, what took me to get bored
Shooting is 10x better than 3 and NV.
once you do the main quests you can't re play the game as the non main quests are dull as fuck. Also because paid modding is misunderstood no one wants to make quality mods for free.
Good gameplay, good map. It's overall surprisingly well polished for a Bethesda game. It's too bad the story is garbage.
It's a really good sandbox FPS, it's just that it's a shit RPG.
This, it's more like Bioshock/Far Cry Hybrid than it is an actual proper Fallout game. Also Nick Valentine is best companion.
good gunplay, good customization system, great base building
unfortunately other games do all these things better
The sheer volume of impotent frustration it causes amongst Sup Forumsirgins is kinda entertaining.
It's not too hard for your brain if you think RPG means slapping your balls around in peoples faces.
Fuck off todd
Fallout 4's updates show signs of Bethesda learning from their mistakes.
>It's a really good sandbox FPS
It's not.
Borderlands is better.
Wolfenstein 2009 is better too
pretty good open world arpg
pretty bad fallout
I like the survival mode, made the enemies alot less bulletsponges
shooting and power armour
I spent more time building a city than questing. Honestly, I never even finished the full story line. It was more fun to rig lighting and set up furniture and shit for these settlers. The only downside is that the AI is too fucking dumb to know what to do with it. Even the things you assign them to such as shops or beds become too confusing for the AI's and you'll often find them just standing in the middle of the city in a pack doing absolutely nothing. But it was still pretty fun to build it all I suppose. Maybe if Bethesda works out something with the AI next time, they might have something interesting for their next game
the gunplay is almost at the level of a modern shooter. they guns themselves suck shit but they finally got the mechanics down.
after elderscrolls online i can't wait for fallout 5 because they will finally create actual quests.
>tfw it takes them an entire game just to get one mechanic down properly
gotyay by fallout 8 according to my calculations
What do people mean when they say that the gunplay is good? Like what specifically?
Hopefully made Bethesda realize they've gone too stupid before making TES VI Babbyland
The combat isn't as irredeemably shitty as in Fallout 3 so that makes it good apparently.
I really liked Valentine and Curie.
I am literally uninterested in this game. I was from the moment that the debut trailer showed that the protagonist would be voiced.
That being said, I have a wonder.
The settlement building, right? Can you do that pretty extensively, or is it like snap-together legos? I wonder because if I was going to go out and get a cheap copy of this game, from a GameStop or Craigslist, I would want to know if I could accurately recreate Megaton. That's my metric.
For some unknown reason, I really want to reproduce Megaton. Can that be done? Has anybody done it?
The only redeeming quality it has is the brotherhood of steel rolling and fucking shit up and you get to join the ride and make all the libtards in the game get salty and pissy while you rolling in powerarmor killing degenerates
Fallout 4 is shit though
>I would want to know if I could accurately recreate Megaton.
on pc you can
Starlight has a big pool with radioactive barrels on it. That's your best bet.
One thing i like about it is that in this game you aren't restricted to a level cap and get stuck with whatever you chosen for your perks and skills.
I like the extra freedom to finally get to try out all the perks and be able to have freedom to do so without restrictions
You will definitely not create a megaton without using mods, so get the pc version. I like the game(vanilla) but not because of base building.
The only drawback being that perks are central to leveling up, rather than an occasional treat.
This was annoying in Skyrim and it hasn't gotten any better here.
good combat, doing quests is fun, good companions
Until GOTY version comes out in Steam sale for $, it has none to me.
>The power armor
>The Deathclaws
>Half the followers
Anything else?
Combat was smoother
also what said
Next time don't hold the CK hostage behind your shitty workshop dlc todd
Assaultrons and the ghouls were also pretty good.
The settlement building while retarded and extremely lacking is still 100% more enjoyable than anything in a dedicated crafting game out right now.
It's crafting with a purpose.
Could have just as easily been a new franchise entirely, would have probably been enjoyable if it had been.
Arming settlements to the teeth and blowing attackers the fuck out is satisfying
It has the best looking deathclaw model
It has mod support.
>Doing Minutemen ending
>After pissing off the Institute and helping the Brotherhood for a bit, went to the Castle for Defend the ditto
>Suddenly, a Brotherhood Vertibird starts shooting the Synths
>Two Brotherhood knights join in the defense of the Castle
>Decided to spare the Brotherhood on a single moment of serendipity
How correct is this?
3x at best, stop memeing.
This. As a first person shooter it's a pretty good game. I don't care about rpg elements so it was a lot better than 3 and nv for me.
Shooting.
I know folks have some reservations about the voiced PC, but I think some of their lines are real cute.
youtube.com
Which faction did you join?
Nora was a lot more tolerable to listen to than Nate.
Brotherhood at first, then Minutemen
I feel I owe it to my hometown to save it from the clutches of a mad scientist cabal
What is Nora's backstory? I know she has a law degree, but apparently she has military status matching that of Nate's.
First playthrough, straight BoS.
My 2nd playthrough which I haven't finished yet, I was planning to go Minutemen/Railroad, but Preston is angry with me because of what happened in Nuka World, so I might just say fuck him and go full BOS again if he doesn't want to cooperate. I don't like the railroad anymore after reading
Should I g2a this shit or torrent, what's the consensus. Not expecting much here.
Bump
it doesnt feel like a chore to aim. the bullets actually go where you are pointing. fallout 3 was clunky and unresponsive. pretty much it feels like a fps instead of a rpg with fps badly implemented.
Bump

pretty accurate
Aiming and shooting is so accurate that you forget VATS even existed
By shooting you mean using VATS and selecting where to shoot. Shoots high lvl npc in head and it didn't even flinch, shoots low lvl npc in feet and it dies, wow shooting is so fun.
>Want to like the Institute
>They're literally just a more badly-written and less entertaining version of the Think Tank from OWB
>tfw no overhaul to just make FO4 an exploration based looter shooter with good perks/build diversity and boss fights
It's not like you can fix the RPG side of things
>play on survival
>get modern weaposn mod, deadly enemies mod, and save whenever mod
>suddenly game plays almost similar to stalker where I actually run away from enemies when shit gets real
Holy fuck this is awesome
HATE RPG ELEMENTS
The institute is basically tumblr
The brotherhood of steel is Sup Forums Sup Forums board
The railroad is reddit
The minutemen is bunch of lazy cunts.
Essentially. It's not like any modding team will invest the time to eliminate the game's base story line, dialogue, and characters in favor of making ones that aren't garbage-tier.
No, the Railroad is tumblr
