It's fun and charming without being too grating or obnoxious.

fun, experimental series with a good track record for gimmicks that work

So what's the best Kirby game?

I guess is because the out of place final bosses.

amazing mirror or air ride

Superstar/Superstar Ultra

general consensus seems to be Super Star Ultra and I agree

Deepest lore

Aside from a few exceptions (Kirby's Adventure, Kirby's Superstar) I think the Kirby franchise as a whole is pretty shitty.

I have nothing against the characters or setting, I also like the mechanic of Kirby absorbing powers. I just feel the difficulty is always baby-tier so I find almost every game pretty boring.

Borb

Most people are willing to admit to the series is very easy, but the powers and environments are still fun to experiment with.
Most challenge stems from the post-game arenas.

Kirby always had a special place in my heart. Plus it's great that the new games are going in a good direction, too.

Kirby is pure and good, not even Sup Forums can resist the genuine purity of the kirby series.
Most would say SSU, but I say adventure or 64.

robobot

He's cute and the games tend to maintain a standard level of quality. Robobot was one of the most enjoyable games I've played in recent times.

Both Adventure and Nightmare in Dreamland still hold up well surprisingly.

Probably SSU or Robobot. Maybe RtDl.

My personal favorite will always be Dreamland 3, though.

Both are good but the physics in NiD bother me and the smaller screen can be annoying. It's a pretty damn good game but I preffer the original personally.

Now that the dust has FINALLY settled, can we just agree that triple deluxe was shit?

no

You're right about the smaller screen, and the small changes to the stages as well. But I like arranged soundtrack and the inclusion for both King Dedede's theme and Fountain of Dreams makes it worth it.

>My personal favorite will always be Dreamland 3, though.

My nigga

I would disagree.

Aside from the Hypernova section, I still love the game for improving on its level design.

...

Would we ever have a game that brings all the characters back from the past?

I prefer Adventure as well for aesthetics and physics, but I appreciate the music in NiD and the creation of Meta Knightmare mode.

One thing I love about Kirby that started with Adventure is it actually fleshed out Kirby's arch enemy...and that kept going to the point of him actually being a central protagonist that just occasionally heckles Kirby. It's neat to see a Nintendo series do that.

Hell Dedede is actually very expressive ever since the first game, when he goes on a tantrum on the 1st ending and later cries/sulk after being defeated the 2nd time in New Game+.

If Kumazaki stays to direct a 4th mainline game (unlikely, given that Sakurai and Shimomura both directed 3 mainlines each), then the next game will probably tackle that. Another Dimension and its ability to make time travel happen is being explored more with each Kumazaki game.

How would you react if the next game was a 3D spin off about Borb and was made by Platinum?

I believe he would direct the next game, I just hope that he uses a new engine instead of reusing RtDL again. But then again, the last two games were nothing short of fantastic.

RULES OF DREAMLAND

Only if the intro is this:

Long ago in a distant galaxy, I, Nightmare, the Embodiment of Fear and Terror, unleashed an unspeakable evil! But a foolish Star Warrior, wielding a magic sword, stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open Another Dimension and flung him into the future, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to the past, and undo the future that is Nightmare!

This guy will replace Metal Mario in the next Smash.

...

Just 100%ed Robobot some days ago

Besides all the obvious pause stuff, Is there any more lore I should know about?

There is the additional information the director gave as well.

...

Yeah, I had that pic saved before even getting the game

Read it just after completing the game

...

Aside from that, there's the little dialogue that Magolor gave about multiple Clockworks Star existing. Plus there is also the suggestion that someone close to Kirby also told Magolor all about that stuff, it might be Galacta Knight or Marx.

...

His main line games are more fun and engrossing than any Mario game. My personal favorite series that I can always play whenever. It has twitch controls and satisfying beat em up + platformer gameplay that would be evolved seperatley into smash. Its a fucking crime how no one talks about Kirby online or offline.

When this board quits being juvenile, you'll see those great threads again.

Who would win Kirby or darkknight batman im trying to settle a bet

how can you possibly hate Kirby

It was marx, galaga Knight is too insane for talking and is literally "sealed outside canon".

I really do love what Super Star brought with one ability having multiple moves compared to other titles like Adventure and Dreamland 2/3. Although in my opinion I think Sup Forums of all places is the best to discuss about Kirby. It's just as of now, things have gotten slow.

Even then Kirby discussion has been calm for the most part.

So does this mean that Marx could still be alive out there? I wouldn't doubt it since he's infused with pieces from a clockwork star.

it's amazing how well it works taking triple deluxe, adding mecha, and it come off as fresh and cool without being alien

We better see some hot Kirby action this E3

...

I honestly can't enjoy the old ones where powers are one button only, those ones are mostly just mediocre platformers.

Amazing mirror is the best one, wish they'd do another one with that style of level layout.

If given enough prep time __Kirby

Hm, sounds like Marx may have communicated with Magolor prior to his demise.

ily kirby

I don't know, you tell me user

That's because Kirby, Tifa, and Roll are the only topics on this board that don't get completely shat on.

That's how you do a proper sequel while reusing the same engine, just wish NSMB learns from this. Also off topic here, Star Dream's design really reminds me of the artwork from Mega Man Zero.

I don't get it either, every 5 posts you see someone complaint that a game's difficulty isn't high enough and that the quality of the game isn't good enough die to it, to the point where you would imagine that the only thing that can satisfy Sup Forums is touhou on lunatic.

And here comes Kirby a game that is actually quite easy, and mostly no one had complaints.

I really do hope so, the last time we ever seen a major Kirby game being "announced" at E3 was Return to Dreamland.

But all Kirby games uses only one button to do all the attacks.

Amazing Mirror is still the best co-op Kirby game, I wished HAL or another series did a similar game for the 3DS.

I really wish that isn't the case seeing how influential Marx was to the Kirby series, but you may be right.

I'm sensing a similar pattern between these three, I just can't figure out what.

It really does depend on the series. It's understandable if the title comes from a line of challenging games before it.

he loves everyone

Pure

The best part of this image is the fact that Star Dream is spades stronger than Dark Gundam.

Dark Gundam may be able to raise the dead and is virtually immortal, but Star Dream can clone anything and open rips in the space-time continuum.

And that thing was destroyed by a cute pink bubble piloting a mech that's probably half the size of an Armored Trooper.

if you hate Kirby, you hate videogames

>decide to give the first Kirby game on the GB a try
>he can only suck and spit enemies, no copy abilities
I was not ready for this

Kirby is not someone to fuck with

Personally I'd still recommend the first game since you'll understand the Kirby game play in it's most basic form. It'll make you appreciate the copy abilities in later titles. And if you still like playing the first game, then try out extra mode, it's pretty challenging especially the final Dedede battle.

wtf i hate videogames now

I'm worried they may not be able to top Star Dream in the next game.

they always manage... somehow. I'm personally glad this series just gets as much great music as it has.
