Why didn't Sony take more steps to acquire properties like Crash when they where huge? Sony has such a hard time with first party franchises that it's bizarre that they didn't acquire franchises that sold well on Sony platforms.

Ps1 sold exclusively on third party support while n64 was selling exclusively on first party support.
This happened because nintendo and sony were never really playing the market the same way.
But the fact is now sony has 2 dozen shitty mascots while nintendo has 2 dozen mascots only 3 of which sell anymore (dk, mario, and link)

Sony has likely worked out something with activision to deny Crash ever being on Xbox to further cuck Microsoft. Activision likely fought for it to be on PC because a large portion of their crash fans who EMULATE it are there, i.e. free money.
