Was Havel real?

Was Havel real?

He's real in my heart

I killed him, so yeah?
'dis some lore shit or sumthin?

No, some claim he was a country who fell to ruinous strife

I killed Orstein too so it was real right?
Then why is armor appear in archdragon peack?

Something something convoluted time

Are you real?

The Ornstein in DS1 is an illusion due to the fact that the soul he drops is not his own, but just a fraction of Gwyn's lord soul, while Smough's is his own.

This seems to imply that Ornstein left the illusion in Anor Londo as a protector while he left to find Gwyn's wife's son.

He was a Bishop of The Way of White and commanded his own army if that really was him locked away in that tower I would be sad.

He's real, dog. I didn't get Havel's armor off him neither.
Got facts to back that up?
At that point make the whole game an illusion, like Bloodborne.
Maybe that's why they did that, so you Anor Londo fags would quit sayin' everybody's an illusion.

Better question:

Was draengleic real?

In the intro the main character falls through a weird vortex and whenever people talk about how they got to draengleic they say they don't remember.

You're making this more complicated than this has to be. Ornstein's soul in Anor Londo can be his soul, nothing contradicts that. Souls are somewhat detachable, multiple characters across the games have detached theirs, either in part or completely, and handed them off to other people. And the Iron Golem in 1 already sets up the concept of a construct powered by a part of another being.

So it's an illusion of Ornstein, crafted by Gwyndolin, that is powered by the real soul of the real Ornstein. It's not an outrageous concept.

The fact is that it says in an item description that "Ornstein left." The Fire Linking is canon, which means that O&S battle was canon, and if those two events are Canon, then Ornstein must have left, and was therefore alive after the events of DS1.

I'm not a "everyone is an illusion" guy, but FROM have made the conscious decision to say that he left, as well as the fact that "Smough was the last one to guard the cathedral."

Pretty obvious to me.

So when Ornstein left to find TNK, he was Soulless?

The hollows in the graveyard of the Cathedral of the Deep don't drop souls, does that mean you become like them when you are without a soul?

Honestly, I don't think so. It was made abundantly clear that other people had Havel's armor, guy could've been a standin.

Well when you fully detach your soul, you seem to hollow after a while, but it's not an instant process. That's what happened to Vendrick, after all, and nothing in the games contradicts that as being the case.

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO MY THREAD? I leave for 10 fucking minutes and the mods delete it? What the fuck?

The ring says followers of havel wore it, not havel himself.

He's a real fuckin badass

Yeah he was real.
He was a tough nigga too.
That guy in the tower may not have been the real guy.
Apparently ALL of Havel's soldiers had the armor, the weapons, and the ring. So it's even possible to say that all of the Havel guys in all 3 games were either him, or one of his soliders.

Why does the "Ornstein left" line imply that he was alive in 3?
You can write items descriptions about dead people, that's what most of them are.

The first time you encounter this guy is so scary. Many pancakes were made that day.

Are memes real?

In the end did he hate the dragons or did he join them?

My interpretation was that Draengleic was a kind of purgatory since everyone who ends up there become hollows and die/move on once they've completed their own questline.

>We'll never be able to explore that castle in game

Dragon shrine was an alright area but I was so excited to play through that level. I wish Dark Souls 2 was better

Unless I'm very mistaken, there's way more verifiable evidence that he hated dragons than that he liked them.

is this thread real?

He's not alive in 3, are you even reading what I'm saying? I just said he was alive after DS1.

Chronology:

>Before DS1, serves as a knight of Gwyn
>Gwyn leaves to link the flame, Ornstein and Smough remain to guard Gwynevere
>So much time passes that Gwynevere leaves, along with many other deities
>Ornstein remains for a while despite this, but eventually decides to leave
>Realises Smough will not be sufficient to protect the Cathedral, so offers either his Soul (unlikely) or the fraction of Gwyn's lord soul (that was given to him) to maintain a powerful illusion in his absence, possibly aided by Gwyndolin
>Ornstein leaves to find Gwyn's Firstborn (before DS1 begins)
>Thus, sometime between the events of pre-DS1 and DS3, Ornstein begins the Path of the Dragon in order to find the Firstborn, meaning he could not have been there in DS1

What happened to him is up for debate, since his motivation for finding the Firstborn is also debatable. Did he want his former superior to resume his post in Anor Londo as rightful ruler, or did he want to fight him for abandoning the capital in it's hour of need? Some believe that he became the stormdrake that The Nameless King rides, but that's pretty out there (not entirely impossible, though).

>Realises Smough will not be sufficient to protect the Cathedral, so offers either his Soul (unlikely) or the fraction of Gwyn's lord soul (that was given to him) to maintain a powerful illusion in his absence, possibly aided by Gwyndolin
Or, alternatively, as a Knight of Gwyn bound to the duty of guarding the cathedral but still wanting to go after the Firstborn, he strikes a deal with Gwyndolin, in that he leaves his soul behind to continue his duty, while his body gets to go off in search of his mentor.

Well sure. Basic chronology still stands.

is Miyasaki real?

>grind out a bunch of firebombs from the assholes throwing them
>lure Dwayne Johnson out of his lair bit by bit, pelting him with firebombs for minuscule damage
>get him down to ~20% HP after running out of bombs
>try to finish him off
>get flattened, recovery animation or twitchy movements sends me flying off the staircase
>YOU DIED
Stayed away from him after that until I could fight him like a man, and then all he drops is some dumb ring.
then I promptly got fucked over by the ice golems outside and the hydra waves

How can Havel be real if poise isn't real?

dragon shrine was easily my favorite place in DS2,
maybe my favorite place in any souls game, and DS2 is definitely not my favoriet souls game

literally just get naked, roll around like a spaz and backstab him until he dies

armor is meaningless if you're gonna die in one hit no matter what

>easiest NPC in the game to parry
>uses firebombs

k

he's literally one of the easiest enemies to backstab, it just takes a while

>parrying havel
the fuck

Can Havel kill servents?

his weapon has a huge windup and can be parried with any shield, even your fucking arm my dude

i think it's the only reliable way to kill him early.
get the drake sword and parry riposte him 5 times, he dies.

but why would you ever stand in front of havel if you don't need to

it's like trying to parry a semi truck

You mean you can't parry a semi truck user? You need to practice more.

>lorefags

Who fucking cares.

Can i get a quick rundown on this kid?

I'd rather parry a slow, hard hitting enemy like havel than a fast attacking, not as hard hitting enemy.

Sure,

To some, he's known as "The Architect," or "Gahn'tha-cte" in his native tongue.

Here's a quick rundown:

>the Bogs BOW to him
>rules universal empires with an iron fist
>thoughts become reality instantly
>architect maintains the simulation
>has connections to intergalactic mafias
>can read minds and taste colours
>infiltrated Bill Clinton's mind to take campaign secrets
>inserted Trump into presidency to save the world from collapse
>the architect needs Earth to live, if only to serve Bogkind
>architect is Bogkin, though serves as more of an administrator and patriarch while the Bogdanoffs are more combat/diplomacy ready
>will need to harvest Earth's oceans to power their water-fed spaceships eons from now
>the architect manipulates the timeline and simulation to one day make Earth equal to that of Bogkind, and an intergalactic ally

Just be glad he's on our side

But if you fail the parry, you're dead. It's safer and easier to roll and backstab. A roll is much simpler to time.

>if you fail the parry
git gud

>not parrying havel with your eyes closed using mouse&keyboard and a broken sword hilt

he's really slow.

Who wins in a fight between Havel the Rock Johnson versus Stone Cold Steven Ornstein?

>straight sword hilt

I took off all my armor and ran up the stairs and baited him into falling off with me repeatedly

you take more damage with heavy armor

he died first

Paul Bearer of the Curse

Were Smough's hitboxes real?

I'm pretty sure using a dragon tooth as a weapon means that he hates them.

You will post this every thread, and I will reply "shockwaves" every thread.

Drangleic WAS real. It needed its monarch to close the gap between the ages in an ultimate act of futility.
