PC or PS4

Serious question, I haven't played any new big games in a while due to lacking a good PC or a newer console.

I was going to build a PC since I thought it was a no brainier, however looking at the games, japanese games interest me more. But only a few are on PC, botw on might be on emulator though. However, PS4 would give me all of them apart from something like botw.

Big western games I haven't played are included on the right, it's mostly just witcher 3 I want. The rest are 'would be nice to try'. Andromeda so far is not looking very good so building a PC for it seems like a very bad idea. Tides of Numenera looks interesting but i'm certain I won't need to build a new PC for it. It's recommended specs are quite low and I meet them, just about. Plus it's on PS4 which I was surprised about.

Am I crazy? Or would a PS4 be a better choice if I think 80% of western games are complete garbage? What do?

Buy whatever plays the games you want, retard. It's not rocket science.

Sup Forums has always told me PC is always the better option so I just wanted to confirm if that was a meme or something. No bully.

Everything you hear on Sup Forums is a baseless meme. Even when they are right it is a coincidence.

PC is generally the better option. You have a greater variety of games and games generally run better. You should get a gaming PC either way.

PS4 however has a few titles which you can't play on PC, so if you want to play those titles you should also get a PS4.

>is a baseless meme
there are no baseless memes, ding dong

PC is far better than a console unless the only games you want to play are console exclusives and there are barely any decent ones.

Get a pc.

Yeah, I'm planning on both in the long run, but for now it's only going to be the one. Probably till the end of 2017. I'm a uni studentfag with a part time job so can't blow all my money on both things at once.

What are some good upcoming PC exclusives? I can't find any that interest me. While PS4 has persona 5 in about 20 days.

Since you're talking about P5, then PS3 emulation. Just made some huge strides and they're getting more money so progress will speed up exponentially.

As I said: PC is generally the better choice because games run and look much better.

If you want to play PS4 exclusives however, there's no way around getting a PS4.

>If you want to play PS4 exclusives however, there's no way around getting a PS4.
PSnow, waiting for PS5, or waiting for ports.

Kind of dumb to get a PS4 now since there's barely anything to play and games cost a lot.

PC and piracy/emulation is the way to go if you actually want constant games.

>Sup Forums has always told me
there is your problem

if you are going to get both anyways"

then just get a PC

you all the games, and you can emulate almost any console/handheld/arcade in the past 30+ years FOR FREE and many even have NETPLAY

if you really love video games, you would get a PC

don't build a PC unless you have a good amount of money to put into it

don't listen to the, "budget build" retards. if you're gonna skimp to build a low end PC you're just wasting your money. the goal is future proofing and being able to actually outperform a console, which low end builds often cannot reasonably do.

Bloodborne is way better on p-

>which low end builds often cannot reasonably do.

>the goal is future proofing
Only when it gets to stuff like the case, the psu and the cpu
Buying GPUs whose power you don't currently need is a waste of money because the same power will be much cheaper down the line

Get a Ps4 I have a PC with over 200 games on steam. I still play my Ps4 more

>Since you're talking about P5, then PS3 emulation.

Oh cool, would that be playable around release? Like around June? I really wouldn't want to wait any longer. I haven't followed ps3 emulation so not sure what state its on right now.

I'm going to get both eventually yeah but not right now. I already have a current PC that lets me play old games. So that's not an issue, this is for the newer games really.

It will be mid range. Max budget is £800 for it

future proofing is a meme
get the target PC you want to buy.

All those games are available on ps4.

Only some are on PC

/thread.

PC is getting more and more Jap games, like Berseria, Nier, Ni no Kuni 2 and Danganronpa v3.
On the other hand, PS4 does have Nioh and Yakuza 0 and will get more exclusives later.

Just choose the platform you're more comfortable with and play whatever it gets. You should have a lot of good games to play on both PC and PS4.

Also, note that you can emulate hundreds of good weeb games and will be able to emulate even more of them in the future, seeing how Wii U, PS3 and 3DS emulators are progressing.

>Titanfall 1
>A game that had to be downgraded for the 360
>It also runs on Source engine
>Implying that's any kind of feat

PS3 emulation might be functional when PS5 rolls around.

it depends on what you want
just get both

I have a PS4 but i still play on my PC almost exclusively

I mean why?

I got:

FFXV
Bloodborne+DLC
Uncharted 4
KoFXIV

Meanwhile PC has all the other games i want...

Probably not but it's possible, who knows. Get a PS3 instead of PS4 desu, if you don't have one of those it has way more games than the PS4 does.

That video is old as fuck showing a budget build that outperformed both consoles. You could spend the same amount and get better parts now.

It's better option if you care about graphics and/or piracy.
Otherwise, as the other user said - buy whatever plays the games you want.

Both

Mate, PC only has exclusives when there is a REALLY good reason for it. So unless you want to go full autist with simulators that have several grand worth of physical devices available to build a setup, you are into über realism or strategy games there is no exclusives on PC.

Why the fuck would a weeb game developer make an exclusive for the PC? You can play that watered down shit on a controller no problem, hell it usually works better on one. Nobody is going to pay you money to only release your game on the PC platform. So if you want exclusives, you have to enjoy games/genres that are exclusive to PC by necessity. You can't approach it with "I like weeb games, what are some PC exclusive weeb games?". If that's your angle, you've got 0 understanding of the platform.
I mean to be fair, all the weeb games which you rub your dick to are exclusive to PC, but that's kind of beside the point because again it's the same reason as simulators and strategy is exclusive to PC - you can't release porn on PS4. Sony doesn't allow it.

>if you care about graphics and/or piracy.
lol gat a load of this fag

depends what you consider low end. you're not going to beat a console with a console budgeted pc. you don't build a pc to match a console's performance. You build one to exceed a console's performance

I spent $1300 on my computer around when the gtx700 line came out and bought a 760 and can still run most new games very well at high+ settings with low temps. 4+ years is a pretty solid amount of longevity, and I can probably get another year out of this setup

Or spend 200 for a ps4 and not have to stick your parts to a wall lel

*$200 + shit tier normal PC + $60 a year online

PC is the ultimate gaming machine

Play whatever you want

NES
SNES
N64
GAMECUBE
WII
WIIU
PS1
PS2
PS3(soon)
Gameboy (color/advance)
Mega Drive
Dreamcast
PSP
Arcades?
NEO GEO
CPS1
CPS2
CPS3
ETC....

Plus all the modern games you could possibly want, except for a few exclusives

Get a PC. Why the fuck would you buy a PS4 for 4 games at very most.

>Why the fuck would a weeb game developer make an exclusive for the PC?
I wonder.

*exclusives that matter

When was the last time pc got a gotg that couldnt be run on an internet cafe pc
SAD

>Serious question
>pc OR ps4

Yeah, sure bud.

If you like video games, you already have a gaming PC. Then you buy a PS4. So, if you don't have a PC yet, you get a fucking PC, then buy a PS4.

Poorfags, exit.

Yeah, that was my thinking too which made me second guess building a PC. All the games I want to try are on PS4. While PC only has some of them, although they will run better on PC which is why I'm still choosing.

Nah, I already have a last gen system, I really don't want to add another one. I would like to play newer games now with a newer system.

I'm just telling you what games I like and will be playing lad. Sims aren't my thing desu. Warhammer does look neat though but probably something I won't play for very long like the other total war games.

This is for newer games. I already have a PC that can play older games/run older emulators.

oh right, sorry I forgot.
>if you care about graphics and/or piracy and about tacky flashy LEDs all over your machine and ricing your desktop for hours on end
there, fixed that

sorry again that I forgot about the most popular form of entertainment for PCMR :^)

$400 or lower is low end and it will meet or exceed console.

Or spend a bit extra to get a case, the point is you can build cheap PCs that are good for games.

Yes user. But most of the games in your list are multiplats with the better version on PC. If you really want Japanese game exclusives you may as well buy a 3DS instead since Nintendo made that shit so bad that it's almost impossible to port games from it.

>*exclusives that matter

kek

Orrr you can spend 200 play those same games with exclusives that matter.
Like legit

I'm being honest i don't want to build a pc, with console games i can just buy the console and be done with it. Plus i like the exclusives on consoles.

The ones on the left is what I'm mostly interested in. The western ones apart from witcher 3 are nice to try kind of thing.

>meme img
Kek indeed.

The point is you get both for half the price checkmate atheists.

200 plus the cost of online and those games. you're spending hundreds and hundreds more than someone with a PC.

PC has way more "exclusives that matter" than the PS4 does and it's backwards compatible even with older consoles.

Well if you have a PS4 you can play all of those games, on PC you can only play some of them

>half the price

PC manufacturers could halve their prices and then charge for multiplayer too.

$400 + peripherals will end up nearly triple the price of a PS4 and will perform worse than a Pro for most games

BotW is on CEMU, but has a garbage frame rate.

The only games not on PC here are Bloodborne, Gravity Rush and Horizon

Yeh, 5/9 of them are multiplats.

>no games
>most games runs below 30fps on Pro
You keep telling yourself that mate.

Yakuza

And I'm literally just telling you that if you're looking for exclusive games on PC which don't have an actual reason to be there, you're out of touch with how the platform works. Nobody is going to pay to make games arbitrarily exclusive to PC, it just doesn't work like that. Microsoft might, but they'll shove it on Windows 10 Store and nobody is gonna buy it.

Some smaller devs release on PC because they can't afford console release, but that's a very small minority.

>Some smaller devs release on PC because they can't afford console release, but that's a very small minority.
What..? There are way more indie games on PC than console games as a whole.

show me a pc that can play upscaled 4k games at above 30fps for ~$400 (not even including the peripherals which add another several hundred)

I forget to include persona too, but yeah you're right, half of them are on PC. I guess it comes down to if I can play the half that are on PC for now, and then get a PS4 later when I'm done with them. Or do visa versa with a PS4. I'll just pick which game/s I want to play asap and decide which system I should go with based on that.

Thanks for helping everybody. Time to look up gameplay videos. Have a nice day anons.

> upscaled 4k
why would I argue with someone who thinks this is impressive.

I was playing modern games at 4k back in 2014. 30fps with lower settings is fuck all.

there's only 2 good PS4 exclusive games there, the rest are meme shit

There's only one good PS4 exclusive you mean.

no shit it's not impressive, but you can't show me a build that will do it even though I gave you the leniency of not having to include peripherals which are a requirement as well

I meant Bloodborne and Yakuza

I mean minority of weeb games, since he's specifically into those. Not counting hentai weeb games obviously, since those have to PC exclusive.

Not him, but LITERALLY this

You didn't even read my post.

>paying for multiplayer multiplat shit either way
and? how would the decision to monetize online fall into the hands of PC part manufacturers anyways?

you can build a 450 dollar pc that will max out any game at 1080p thanks to the new g4560 dude.

>my computer could do it lol
that's all you said

What I'm saying is that's why the consoles APPEAR cheap. (literally everyone in existence plays multiplayer aswell) Look at ps3 vs xbox 360 prices.

I'd honestly prefer to pay $500 for a ps4 which was guaranteed to work forever then $200 for one which requires $60 per year to use the fucking internet.

Get a PC exclusive aren't that common anyways. If you want a PS4 just wait for depreciation to hit even more or just get both anyways PS4 are like 200$.

He should put some sort of roof over the computer

No I said
>in 2014
To clarify I had a GPU from 2012.

>Exclusives that matter
Like what? No one cares about the millionths 16bit retro indie.

Acting like everyone wants to play online.
Stop randomly increasing cost

>Acting like everyone wants to play online.
>Like what? No one cares about the millionths 16bit retro indie.

Not him, practically everyone plays online and PC and nintendo are the only platforms with exclusives which matter (e.g. people buy them)

>Best selling console
>People are buying nintendo

Lel

Only buy a PS4 if you're interested in obscure weebshit. If you take that away then the exclusives lineup is basically xbone tier

>only platforms with exclusives people buy
