Which should I get? >4k 60Hz 27'' >4k 60Hz 32'' >1440p 144Hz 27'' G-Sync
I would like the screen to last me at least 4 to 5 years, 4k is a lot more appealing, I don't play many fast FPS games. Ultrawide is not something I want either - support is still kinda shoddy in many games. 32'' seems like a better choice for 4k, but it's also a lot more expensive. I need a HDMI 2.0 (have a PS4 Pro) and would prefer a VA panel.
And if you're stuck on 4k which you should probably get if you use a console for whatever reason
you'll still want a free-sync display since it's only $350 for this 27" 4k IPS display, for 32" you'll need to get a korean monitor and it'll be more expensive
The console doesn't benefit from that display at all, and he can easily get 1440p 144hz IPS at his budget with that pixio display

Still, a 1080 will struggle to hit 144hz on max settings on newer games, like Forza Horizon 3 and such that take advantage of the higher framerate

I didn't even know 4gb 1080s existed

Go all in on hertz.

I'll be upgrading to Volta next year, maybe even snatch the 1080Ti depending on prices and resale value.
1080 is obviously not quite good enough for 4k or 1440p 144Hz, but that will change with new GPU's. I'd like the display to last me a while, dropping 500€+ only to replace it in two years would not be terribly economical.
I had my eye on the 27u68d-w (better backlight than the 58), but am not sure if it's not gonna be too small. Currently have a 32'' Benq 3201PT at work and it feels about the right size for the resolution.

They don't, Speccy is (or maybe was) kinda bugged and didn't report VRAM correctly over 4 GB.

720p 240hz

Speccy being retarded
I hope you mean vega, because G-sync is far far more expensive than free-sync for the same type of monitor generally speaking, especially the 4k displays
32" is better for productivity, but games will clearly be a bit sharper at 27"
No, Volta. I don't exactly care about either of Freesync/Gsync though, I'm fine with 60 Hz if I can get a good panel with decent contrast and very low glow/bleed.

They make 1080p 240hz displays
If you're buying a free-sync display you might as well get a GPU to use it
Unless you really need CUDA for some reason
and given that they just launched the 1080ti I highly doubt they're going to release something much faster so quickly, Volta doesn't seem to be for gaming
I have a 1440p 144Hz 27'' FreeSync monitor and I love it, I'd take it any day over 4k 60Hz It was also pretty damn cheap, it's a XG270HU that I got for $300
