I like Blighttown.
Tomb of The Giants is also great.
What are you going to do about it?

That would be Anor Londo.

Blighttown is fine if you play on pc.

It's the Volcano section for me (Dmeon Ruins and Izalith). Complete drag. Meanwhile, there isn't a single level in Demon's Souls that dissuades me. I enjoy every them all :^)

>That would be Anor Londo

This really. People say the game goes to shit after Anor Londo but the quality drop starts with Anor Londo itself.

>went into painting world just after getting bonfire teleport
>stuck in painting
>stopped playing
>sold ps3 without saving harddrive contents
Guess i won't be finishing that one.

>Undead Parish church
>blocks your desire to finish this game

I love the entire game tbqh family.

>what is running
>what is moss
>what is one of the easiest bosses in das

It's only challenging if you make it that way.

Blighttown is the casual filter

>running through an entirely new area, skipping everything
do you even play souls games? thats fine if its NG+, but we're talking first times here

It's very easy to skip the vast majority of blight town.

Anor Londo is fun too.

Half of the game after Anor Londo can get pretty boring.

Mate what
I killed that thing in like 3 hits

Only the hardcore autists stick through the unbearable drame drops.

Blighttown was easy.

PC version has been out for years, mate.

i didn't get any drame or frame drops on PC

Only whiny console babies can't handle blight town in spite of the preposterous frame drop

blight town was easy until i found out i had to go all the way back

had to do the entire level in reverse

ended up back in the burg maybe 3 hours later

what great game design

I don't get most of the hate this area gets, it's fairly good, great level design, great boss in the end, can be entered by two different points and leads to other two areas. I know very well about the framerate issues on console since I played it on a PS3, but they were not THAT bad for the most part, but could fuck you up in the higher levels. It's definetly harder than the areas that lead to it, but it's nothing compared to Sen's or Anor Lond, As other Anons have stated, it works pretty good as a casual filter in the beginning.

uh oh someone didn't find the elevator

Yeah, except, you didn't.

>You found a key
I DONT GIVE A FUUUUUUCK YOU AIGHT LETS JUST GET BACK THE WAY WE CAME FROM YOLO LOL

>get master key
>unlock shortcut early
>go straight to swamp area
Replay value is saved.

Blighttown is so easy though. You can run from just about everything, the items in the area are pretty good, and the spider waifu isn't even difficult. With one summon the fight is a joke.

Now Tomb of the Giants, that place can suck a dick.

>With one summon the fight is a joke.
>summoning for boss fights
some people just want to watch the world burn I guess

My friend spent two hours down there trying to find a way out, the whole time I was thinking of ladders and elevators. He didn't even find the hidden area.

It would be more accurate if that picture was the elevator itself. To this day i cant believe theres no casual falling off blighttown elevator montage somewhere

>first playthrough
>pick key
>wander aimlessly into Blighttown
>assume it's the first zone
>die what felt like hundreds of horrible deaths
>painstakingly retrieving my soul pile each time because I thought a few thousand was a lot
>traverse the fog
>fire spider lady
>get mopped up
>need to get my soul pile
>finally kill her after dozens of attempts on a fresh character
>spend my 30k souls foolishly

The game was pretty easy after that. I never got to experience the "unfair capra demon" though.

Tomb of Giants is great fun.
>sprint through the darkness
>can barely make out the path
>giant glowing skelly eyes
>sprint to the end, forgetting about the occasional skeleton doggo
it's been awhile since I used the lantern there

>he got stuck in painting

GET GUD

It's not that hard even without mildred
summoning for boss fights is useful though, if you want to do Quelaag and Ceaseless first but aren't good enough to beat her at SL1

Sorry i cant really tell a coprophile to stoo getting turned on by shit i guess

blightown isnt even that bad it just need to be shorter and not have that attroucius fps

Izalith is the only sub-par zone in this game.

>SL1 run
>"I want a real challenge! I'll just summon for the challenging parts."

That's not tomb of giants and lost izalith.

Going through Black Gulch and the Stairway to the Ancient Dragon are both arguably worse.

Outside of the frame drops I think blighttown is great. Worst area is Lost Izalith

>dat pic

"Oh, look. A blatantly contrived obstacle course hallway. Fun."

>black gulch
>hard

GIT GUD

Lol, that's not what I was saying. Sometimes I want to run down to Blighttown first if I want to rush a fire weapon. You can get the green titanite shards there. Quelaag and Ceaseless give a good bit of souls, but can be challenging to beat without leveling up or having upgraded weapons. In that situation, when I'm trying to get through the beginning of the game efficiently, I summon mildred so I don't have to fight Quelaag 20 times until I beat her. If I was legit doing a SL1 run, I wouldn't go to blighttown first and I wouldn't summon for bosses.

It wasn't hard, dumbass. Just boring.

>we need to make the game slightly longer but we don't have the budget for new assets
>I KNOW

Actually being the worst game in the series blocks my desire to play it again.
I'll take a trip to Drangleic over Lodrab any day

I believe that this is literally what happened

and now the thread is derailed, because we're going to start arguing about DS1 vs DS2 and DS3, inevitably DeS and BB will enter the picture, and this whole thread will collapse. At least it wasn't super comfy to begin with.

Spot the underage

Black Gulch always makes me want to go to a rave.

Unbearable? Clearly you're a millennial faggot because I got through it without a flinch. Wasn't that bad to where I couldn't play. Quit bitching.

which is most of the game, honestly. I dont know how people liked it

>Stairway to the Ancient Dragon

You mean the stairway where you literally only have to kill one non-respawning enemy in a one on one duel in order to make all of the enemies passive?

eh, ash lake is kinda bland. Cool atmosphere, miniboss you've likely already fought, lamest covenant, most linear area in the game.

to be fair, I think it's more of a bonus secret area. I don't think it's supposed to be a full fledged level.

>stuck in painted world
h-how?

true, true. Izalith is supposed to be the final area before a lord soul, it should definitely have been better.

but that's not post anal rodeo DaS

True, though Painted World is amazing
anal rode is just empty as fuck area with few sentinels, after the archers it's okay but still very underwhelming
a fucking demon alone in the room? what kinda sense does that even make

People consider the quality to drop off after Anor Londo exclusively because the O&S fight is so fun. It also conveniently serves as the "halfway" point in the game, gives you the ability to warp which removes the need to make the world so perfectly interconnected.

On PC Blightown isn't even a blip on the radar when it comes to annoying shit that makes me not want to finish.

>Unbearable? Clearly you are a millennial because I like to eat shit and am okay with 1-10 fps range gameplay.

Retard.

lol, you probably think Skyrim is obviously best elder scrolls because graphics

Actually, they had tons of assets but had to scale back the project due to outdated consoles.
The Gutter would've been visually one of the most elaborate areas in the game and Black Gulch initially didn't exist and was a series of collapsed buildings, a giant broken Nashandra-statue, a cave with an impaled dragon skeleton and the sewer you saw in one of the trailers.

I think the Elder Scrolls is a shit series with horrible gameplay and only retards like you who like to eat shit like it.

I also think 30 fps is borderline unacceptable for an action video game and anything going below that baseline has a strong direct impact on GAMEPLAY. You wouldn't know this, because you like shit games like The Elder Scrolls, but some games have good gameplay that needs to be visually consistent to be good.

Fuuuuuuck, I hate consoles.

ACTUALLY i'm pretty sure they ran out of time given you can find the texture for beer bottles in the level. No that's not a cute joke that is being LAZY

>that became this

>!!TOXIC!!

NIOH BEST SOULS GAME

It's a bit of both since they slapped together a game from the finished assets in like half a year.

lol your just bad

>Black Gulch
>hard
literall just run to the last bonfire and then to the flesh nito

Never understood this. Maybe it was just the buildup where people kept on telling me that I was going to hate my life during Blighttown, but I didn't think it was that bad. Is it really that hard to equip poison resist?

My personal foil in that game was Darkroot. I've never met anybody else who claimed to struggle with that part, but those giant knights kicked my ass and I thought Sif was a real bastard.

>you will never play what DS2 was meant to be

oh well

...

*Shoves claymore up its blighted ass*

NEVER EVER, GAMERFAG!
Enjoy your elevator into lethal lava land and misplaced grave wardens while I'm going from Earthen Peak to the Undead Crypt with everything making sense!

I had never played a Souls game until a couple months ago so I started with the first one and it really isn't that hard. I even wandered into Blighttown before I ran the first bell in the Undead Parish and just thought the game was supposed to be like that. I think I died three times in there, maybe? I don't understand the memes. The game isn't that hard or tedious. The only really bad part were those two black knight archers in Anor Londo, died three times there until I got lucky and managed to nudge one off with a shield.

I also went afk in the crystal caves, but that was my own fault there.

lol, Blightown is ez, u can be in and out in 10 min. Tbh every area in souls is easy if you just avoid enemies as much as possible.

heh

The games really aren't that hard, they're just punishing. They're specifically designed for you to learn from your mistakes and to do things piecemeal. The hardest thing by far was just learning how the game wants you to play it. Once you learn the core gameplay mechanic of learn/spend souls/repeat, it's really not so bad. Although there are occasionally those real piece of shit moments like those archers, or getting fucked by a greatsword through a wall.

Think you meant to post Anor Londo

you can speedrun through blightown in like 10 minutes
>he didn't take the master key
what are you a fucking idiot?

Only good post in this entire thread.

I hope they release Dark Souls 1 on Switch. It's the only game in the series I like and I'd like it on the go.

why is this game so hard

>*Blocks
where is this meme from

How would the DLC areas be integrated into the original game?

Blighttown isn't that bad. Crystal Cave and everything about Lost Izalith is much worse IMO.

>Spent the first part of the game dying in the most retarded ways possible.
>Learnt that this game isn't just wreck everyone's shit because you're da hero
>Actually git gud once I start exploring the sewers
>Make my way though blighttown avoiding all the traps and getting all the items.
Greatest feel.

I really like this webm.

>rolling backwards when fighting an enemy with a big ass weapon

Literally everything about the webm is scientifically designed to be bait, user. It's brilliant.

*blocks your path*

my average dark souls playthrough
>run to the gargoyles at the beginning of the game
>run to quelaag after gargoyles
>run through sen's fortress and get to anor londo
>maybe beat ornstein and smough
>delete character

Might as well stick to the part of the game that's actually good.

>not killing artorias, kalameet, and manus

I honestly want to know how this shit got approved by anyone
The whole area was the biggest "fuck you" I think I've ever seen in a game

my least favourite area in the game is probably darkroot garden
crystal cave is also shitty, but it's not very long

>fumbling in the stairs
>fucking up the backstab
>rolling backwards when lunged at
>wooden shield
>claymeme
Maybe you're right

There's absolutely nothing wrong with claymeme.
