I've seen that you can emulate all the good project diva games on PC but which one is the best? Also any known issues when emulating them?
I've seen that you can emulate all the good project diva games on PC but which one is the best...
Anyone?
What are the bad games in this series. The only one I've seen to get flack is X and I think that is because it has a story or some shit and not many songs (although, comparing to Future Tone might be unfair because it has songs out the wazoo).
Unsure if there are issues emulating them.
Buy physical, you triple nigger
How do you emulate UMDs?
they're all the same, all the best
None of the games in the series are bad unless you don't care for the series in general. X is pretty good too. The major complaint was that modules were awarded at random after successful completion of songs. I think that the reaction is overblown though, because if you play the game you still unlock everything. It isn't the best approach though, but by no means does this ruin the game.
I think you can buy the PSP games digital as well for Vita if you have a Japanese PSN account. Unsure about the rest of the world.
PPSSPP has timing issues the last time I played miku with it. There's like a noticeable delay every time you line up the timing with the rhythm. That was several years ago.
If you are talking about the PSP ones:
- Project DIVA: Early concept, only uses the face buttons (no d-pad) and all songs are Miku songs (with a couple of them having Rin and Len versions). Framerate issues in some songs.
- Project DIVA 2nd: Introduces the use of d-pad alongside face buttons. Some songs from the first game are reintroduced here to reflect the new gameplay. Rin, Len, Luka, KAITO and MEIKO have own songs. Framerate issues are fixed.
- Project DIVA Extend: Literally the same engine as 2nd but with newer songs.
My advise: play the first one to get into the game, get the most items that you can and import the save game into 2nd, do the same and then import the save game on Extend.
And enjoy your slippery slope. You'll be soon buying a PSVITA for F, F2nd and X and then a PS4 for Future Tone.
Are the Vita games playable on Vita TV? Thinking about getting one due to how low it costs now.
yes, but you'll need a ps4 controller for F
Retroarch should be a lot better with the timing.
Warning: only the Japanese F is officially compatible with VITA TV. The Western release is not (mostly to avoid confusion about the obligation of use a PS4 controller).
F2 and X work flawless.
Also, if someone want to play F2nd/F he should get the jp version because all edit plays are made for this one
>you triple nigger
Hehe
Well, these two are ported on english PSN:
youtu.be
youtu.be
Retroarch is also hideously out of date.
...
Yeah but you can only port from jp to en in the F one (and if you'll have more on jp anyway)
>You can emulate all the good project diva games on PC but which one is the best?
If your PC can handle it, try Project Diva F or F2nd with the PS3 Emulator. Still in it's infancy though.

>Also any known issues when emulating them?
Aside from the usual hiccups, not really.
On a somewhat unrelated note, there's a translation patch and Custom DLC (2nd & Extend) you can try out for the PSP games.

Don't know if the links in these still work if anyone wants to try it.
projectdiva.wiki
the best is project diva future tone
But that's wrong.
Yeah, I still remember that reviewer saying there were too much songs on Future Tone. Just what the fuck?
That doesn't make sense to me. More songs in the game means more bang for your buck and more to do. I know that FT borrows some songs from previous games but I'd rather have more songs. Shit will last you awhile.
>not posting this on a Monday
you fail
And?
X is the worst project diva after the original, how can journalists be so stupid ?
>Be a professional reviewer
>Had a week to clear all Future Tone songs
>Had to take overtimes every day
>Be angry with wife and kids
>Wife divorces and take the kids with her
>Judge gives her the house and the car
>FUCKING WORST GAME EVER 0/10
It's a rhythm game. You don't need to clear all the songs to know what the game is about.
My issue with x is more it taking you out of the game constantly. Also leveling up the friendships is even more of a pain in the ass because you get random items and can't abuse headpats.
tfw no PS4 for Future tone, I'm thinking I'll get one near Christmas this year
I got PS3/Vita for the F games, plus 3DS one that got me started on the Miku, I played the old ones on my PSP 2000 too
I unironically enjoyed the story, it's the first time I saw the Migus as something else as silent robots.
Platinum this game is a pain in the ass, though. Whoever thought that friendship levels should be 10 instead of 5 can go and eat shit.
They got as low as $225 with game bundled last holiday so you should be able to get a really good deal this year if you can hold out until around Black Friday.
>not Nigger Extend
I completely agree. Te story is extremely simple but enjoyable and some parts were quite funny. And seeing Miku and the others as their own character was great.
I'd say Extend is "the best" but they're all great. 2nd as a pretty good playlist. The 1st is good but very different from the others because a lot of things weren't added yet so if you do if after any other it fees weird.
I'm not sure about emulating rhythm being a good idea (even moreso depending of your computer) given the timing needed so a delay can screw up everything, but trying it doesn't cost anything so why not.
Also, is gaikotsu gakudan to riria supposed to be a joke? I don't remember remember it being so ridiculous in Mirai.
I liked the story scenes too. What I'm talking about is how you get shoved into the diva room after every song.
I'd say it's the best if you're already in the serie. But it isn't very noob-friendly and lack a lot of things (granted, that a lot of people will not care about)
F or F2, probably F2, would be a better starting point for me followed by X.
But then again OP is only talking about the psp games so, problem solved.
If I remember correctly the big idea was something among the lines of "everyone will play something like 10 songsthey love and ignore the rest" and considering a lot of them "weaker".
Not saying that it isn't retarded in any way though, that was just the idea.
You can alleviate that somewhat by hitting retry then back out. Only works until they want to be in the room.
This. I got one during black friday last year myself. Especially because you want one that is 1tb and not the 500 one in most cases. the price of bundles usually crash at this time, I've seen bundles with something like 6 or 7 games for 350$. Needless to say that with less games it's just ridiculous.
F2 was my gateway and I'd highly recommended it to noobs. The playlist has many of the greatest hits and, with the DLCs, has 56 songs which is the highest count until Future Tone. Also, fuck what they say, linked stars are fun.
>everyone will play something like 10 songsthey love and ignore the rest
That feel when 90 songs in my favourite list
Wait people hated linked stars?
I think so because they got removed in X.
So did headpats and I'm sure people loved those.
Linked stars wasn't any different than the regular starts other than going on a grid and showing off a visual when pulled off. I see why they removed that.
Headpats and the other kind of interactions. If you touch the back panel of the PSVITA they react as if you touched their butts and get mad at you. Why would you remove that, SEGA?
I was going for Triple Baka when I said hehe
they hated some that sounded "random" and didn't follow the beat, IIRC, I noticed it quite a bit too. I still love them though.
too bad the song pass fr F2 isn't here anymore (at least in my country, I think it was some early access only thing)
Yes, F2 having some of the classic songs in HD sure helped. It also has enough variety in its song list.
And 2D dream fever alone is making it worth it
Anyone knows if a 4th DLC for future tone is planned or if the 3rd one is the endgame? (which wouldn't surprise me given the price of the season pass)
I think a lot of players are casual that don't even know 90 of them, honestly. It's the classical "I don't know it so I don't try it" even if it grows on you over time.
>Also, is gaikotsu gakudan to riria supposed to be a joke? I don't remember remember it being so ridiculous in Mirai.
Everything gets harder in Future Tone. If anything I think they went overboard with AgeAge Again.
Wait what. I have the vita version and never noticed that.
>too bad the song pass fr F2 isn't here anymore (at least in my country, I think it was some early access only thing)
I thought that too, but then I casually found it on the store. I think it is not listed well with other DLCs but I might be wrong.
>Anyone knows if a 4th DLC for future tone is planned or if the 3rd one is the endgame?
Third is Endgame according to the Jap PSN.
Something tells me they're gonna do another one in about 5 months though.
Go try it. For the trophy when you need to get someone mad at you and then make up I touched Miku's butt until she stopped looking at me.
I'm sorry Miku, SEGA made me do it. I'll never do it again
It makes sense. Unless they plan to stop delivering new songs on the Arcade, Future Tone is a perfect platform to keep milking fans. Including me, of course, I'd gladly give SEGA more money for more Miku.
That's really strange considering I have the platinum. I probably just poked her a bunch or something.
Yeah, there are other ways to make them mad.
Well damnit, just found it, it was with the Vita dlc and wasn't linked with the ps3 page, fuck.
Well, no point in dwelling over it since I lmost have all DLC that I bought one at a time but it's a good thing to know if someone wants to buy the game.
I hope so, some songs I'd like from Mirai still aren't there. Oh well even if there isn't another one it's already enough.
I'm still disgusted by the lack of Miku/Ren 1 2 fanclub, and doing 3 thousands of time the quirky medley just doesn't cut it.
I'm okay with this milking if they want to do this too, I'll be a proud cow.
If they add songs to arcade we'll probably have some kind of long delay though, so that the can at least try to make money with the arcade machines.
I want Kagamine Hachi Hachi to come back. Hell, it was already in the Arcade and got pulled out for some reason, even in Japan.
Eh, so this is why I remember seeing it in future tone, I guess it explains thing. I remember having an hard time with time one a long, long time ago but it was nice indeed.
God, the modules remind me of holy lance explosion boy, what a nightmare
>spoiler
Yeah, having Len to brag about his dick in top speed for more than 3 minutes was a mistake. Worse song in X by far.
youtube.com
They must've added it recently back then because this module was released in december 2016 to the arcades.
...
Didn't even think about that, I kist have a really, really hard time with this song, but yeah, reading the lyrics made it hilarious.
Also, I am the only retard ending 3/4 of the songs with, like, 3 times the inputs needed because I can't help but to add beats where inputs are lacking while follwing the rhythm? I swear I can't get it right otherwise. Good thing you aren't punished for it if it's not close to another input because I'd probably miss prettymuch every single song.
That Senbonkanza Miku looks like she's about to fight someone
I'll probably buy this one only for 1925 and its module. It makes it worth it by itself.
It's the 1925 one.
I'm not sure if I'm just not remembering the songs that do the same thing in f and f2nd but there's a number of songs in X that overstay their welcome like holy lance explosion boy. Love trial and slow motion come to mind.
...
Whoops, guess it was the hats that confused me, I do know this
The quirky medley by itself could be named some kind of Ero medley and it would fit just as well.
Well, not all of it but a good part.
X really had a great playlist, things like satisfaction or BRG or Ai dee (well, I'm a mitchie M sucker.) have got to be among my favorite songs period.
It's my favorite song to play in X though. Getting an E on it felt so satisfying.
Get them all. They're like 4GB in total.
Some people are complaining about input lag but I haven't noticed any.
Also, get the 60 fps cheats from the PPSSPP forums because they're locked to 30 by default.
...
Miku pyjama best pyjama. So comfy and huggable.
I still like this one better. It looks even cuddlier.
I don't really like the Future Tone models.
Too far down the uncanny valley for me.
Maybe you're a closet homo for Len?
I think especially the newer PVs look very cute.
Having a fetish for female robots helps. I just think they are made of PVC.
At least they still have Miku
It's an improvement.
At least Miku will never leave them.
Maybe switch platforms but she will stay with them.
One day your googly eye rampage will be stopped
The 60fps certainly doesn't help since it makes them feel more "real". this being said, They grew on me over time.
I wis the main games had separated haircut and clothes too.
Too much stuffed, I want to feel Miku under the clothes.
...
My little Vocaloid can't be this cute
Should I get Future Tone or X for PS4? Seems like Future Tone has more songs but is split up in packs.
The googly eyes can stay.
Get Future Tone now, then wait for a sale on X and pick it up then.
If you are unsure about what pack to pick first, try Future Sound.
I like the aesthetics of the song but I'm sure I'm not gay
Oh great, if feet and armpits were not enough now we have sideboobs...
Future Tone by far, both packs together is only $53 and has immensely more content than X
Can F 2nd join?
>Technology will not improve enough in your lifetime to bring Samfree back to life again and fix Luka
>but it will improve to a point where you can be cryogenically frozen until then
You mustn't lose hope, user
Luka does not need to be fixed though. She only needs competent producers. Here, have a good tuned Luka V4X: youtube.com
>pic
That is a very happy Migu
Well I just tried the two free songs, I don't like how it is compared to f 2nd.
