I've been struggling to figure out... What the hell is the difference between hylian armor and soldier armor? Literally just the armor values? Is the hylian armor better than the soldier armor at anything?

Stam consumption is the same.
Climb/sprint/swim speed is the same
Dodge distance is the same

I can't fucking figure it out. Stealthing I'm pretty sure is the same too, but I'm beginning to think that there's more to stealth than what the stealth meter shows.

Just armor value and items needed to upgrade them. Hylian is also easier to upgrade because it only needs bokoblin parts and tons of amber for the final upgrade. Both get no set bonuses however.

Soldier's Armor and legs plus Hylian Hood is top tier
