Because I've only played the SNES and 64 versions and the 64 version is better.

Is not

Is a great one but if you want the best is either DS or 8 (only because is the only one with DLC to reinforce its shittyness)

So Future > Past in your case? Then why couldn't GameCube or later be better?

It's not, Double Dash is

It's pretty much the worst balanced MK but the driving feels very good and the presentation isn't over the top like in the installments that followed. Soundtrack is amazing.

Then I can't tell you it's the best Mario Kart.

This

It's not.

Double Dash or 8 Deluxe is.

Because I've only played the SNES and 64 versions and the SNES version is better.

I've always thought that DD was the best.

>skreeeeeeeeeeee

I've played SNES kart ~20 hours and 64 kart ~50 hours. I think I played double dash once. Double dash seemed like the best. Can't tell you for sure though. Also DKR was better.

why do u keep making this thread?

rah

It's a shame that MK64's stages on 8 were made so much shitter.

Also has Choco Mountain made it back as a retro stage yet?

it was a retro stage in mario kart DS

I can't take people seriously when they say that MK64 is the best Mario Kart. Wii, DD, and MK8 are the only acceptable choices, maybe the DS one too, but that one had some questionable track design choices.

Shame, I never really liked the handhelds one as much as the consoles.

>after dominating the previous two generations Nintendo gets blown the fuck out by Sony
>managed to halt progress or take their established franchises into "new", awful directions from which they never recovered
>Mario 64 is objectively the worst Mario game, and is a soulless husk compared to SMW and SMW2
>brought absolutely nothing to the Mario canon
>transitioning Zelda and Donkey Kong Country to 3D was equally disastrous
>Zelda never recovered, actually a miracle that Tropical Freeze managed to be decent
>only reason Metroid was spared was because one of its creators found the N64 controller too confusing
>that series was later rebooted as a generic FPS and has since ceased to exist
>pretty much all the developers responsible for the classic and most memorable SNES games jumped ship to PSX
>N64's library was pitiful as a result
>players were so starved for games they had to delude themselves into believing the games they had were somehow the pinnacles of their respective genres
>they genuinely believe Goldeneye is somehow more influential than the myriad of legendary PC FPS games that preceded it
>Nintendo proceeded to get obliterated by Sony AGAIN in the next generation
>only thing keeping them afloat is the general homogenization between their competitors and their few fans who refuse to stop clinging to their beloved childhood franchises no matter how bad they get

Was the N64 truly the end for Nintendo?

this desu senpai

This is probably the first time I have heard anyone say that SM:64 and OoT or MM being horrible games.

Holy shit did they seriously make 64 Mario Kart games? Someone is running out of ideas lols...

Someone actually took their time and wrote this.

It isn't. I've played MK since super and even though 64 is very fun, it's been outdone by almost every MK game that's followed it.

I agree up to the point where Nintendo fucked up Arcade mode with regular race tracks. It ruins the mode and it could be the most fun online experience they could've ever created..shame really

I bet you thought this greentext would catch on. Sorry, user.

it was definitely the beginning of a decline
