Help me destroy these.
What's the key to being honest about older games?
Help me destroy these.

Just use a Shatter.
Play newer games, but don't just play them, try to understand them from a fundamental perspective.
Not op but this is an incredibly ambiguos advice. What do you mean?
Understand the core of a video game. What were the developers trying to accomplish? Is it a good thing? And how well did they accomplish it?
There's nothing wrong with rose-tinted goggles.
If you like a form of entertainment, say a game, it's done its job to entertain you.
Finding out such things doesnt seem like looking through a glass, and many people may hace differwnt perspectivas when annalysing it.
How would you approach at it?
"Rose-tinted goggles" is simply another way of saying "evaluating a game in the context of its time period", which is a good thing.
Are their goals respectable? Moral? Or are they more geared towards negative human traits? Is the end product close to what they wanted? Ask yourself just about any questions that come to your mind, then try to answer them honestly and objectively.
If you find it entertaining then do it. Rose tinted glasses is just what some fag who doesn't enjoy what you do says.
Opinions can be wrong sometimes, but at least with video games it's based off of personal preference most of the time. But even then, opinions can be bad opinions. For example: Someone out there likes Gone Home as a video game.
I mean just look at Oot. There are people that will unironically call the came shit despite literally changing the face of video games as we know it.
There are people that didn't even PLAY the fame when it came out trying to tell me it "didn't age well"
I'm sorry, but if you don't experience a piece of groundbreaking art, in it'd respective medium, then you don't GET to. That's how real life works. Sorry you played fucking twilight princess and ruined the OoT experience for life, but that's just your problem.
If I don't get to experience the game when it was good, it doesn't get a good rating from me, plain and simple.
Game *
Its*
Sorry on a phone. And this is just an example. I wholeheartedly believe that if you didn't actually PLAY a game like OOT when it came out then you should just shut your mouth about to be honest. Any review would otherwise come off biased as fuck because you already saw those mechanics people stole from oot, in other games
No you don't understand. You are eating a game based on nothing. Your opinion is completely worthless, sorry.
It doesn't apply here, go judge movies or something less complicated.
Rating somehow gets auto corrected to fucking eating, reeeeeeeeeeee
nostalgiafag here
OoT is a piece of trash and zelda as a series is trash except for zelda II and ALTTP
There is nothing to get.
Things that used to be considered ground breaking are now commonly found in modern games. This is true for pretty much everything.
I like this, I'm going to use this every time my friend calls me a nostalgiafag now
It literally comes down to just graphics and controls, everything else is fine with old games
A game like FF7 has aged like shit graphically but Einhander still looks fantastic, both games controls are just fine
See this nigga knows what he's talking about, except I'm kinda disappointed he didn't include Zelda 1.
Bit that's how old games should be evaluated

Replay the games.
List the game's good points, especially in relation to other games, as opposed to just what makes it "good". Rather than saying Final Fantasy is a great RPG, list out the reasons why it is a great RPG, and why that works for the game. It helps to clarify your thoughts, put it into perspective of similar games, and possibly find some good points that other people might've missed. (or point towards other games you might also enjoy)
What game are you having trouble nostalgia'ng out of?
