So now the dust has settled, what is our opinion?
So now the dust has settled, what is our opinion?
my opinion is why the hell should i buy this if i own breath of the wild on wii u?
Switch is garbage hardware
BotW is a great game
So about what's expected from modern Nintendo. Someone monkey pawed us good
>our
pretty horny
Fanboyism aside:
It has a premium quality feel to it. The screen is really nice. Pro Controller is godly.
But there are no games. And third parties are openly hostile towards it. Without games it doesn't matter how cool the hardware is.
It's neat but barebones at the moment, should've released it on holidays desu.
It's nothing special.
I expect it to have a new Zelda game, several hundred Mario games, some more sequels of spin-offs and a sequel of an aging IP which really isn't that good.
And that's it.
The development is way too predictable with lacking third party support.
I'm really annoyed by the Nintenbro shills lately, but here's my thoughts.
Really shit plastic, screen scratches easily, the dock's hardware literally covers maybe 1/10th of the dock's interior. They could've done so much more with that. Pro controller is nice to have.
I like BOTW...as an exploration game. I guess what I mean here is that the actual main story is pretty fucking disappointing. Spent a shitload of time just roaming around prepping for the final battle or whatever and it ends up being a semi-cool but repetitive phase followed by an archery minigame.
7/10 in total, don't regret buying but there could be some improvements
>is... is that guy playing on a Fisher Price tablet?
>naw dude. I think that's the new... Pintendo Swap or some shit.
>the fuck is that
>it's like a touchscreen but worse cause it can only play baby game's
>wow what an autistic piece of shit. He should be embarrassed for playing that in public
>yeah... kinda crazy his mom lets him out the house with that... that garbage
>let's go before he-
>BING! BING! WAHOO!
>...
>...
>we should just go
>autist pretending to be normal
>Plastic fucking screen that can easily be scratched
>Inconsistent frame rate on TV
Wait for the"New" Nintendo Switch
Hey, user, I'm going to let you in on a little secret.
No one gives a flying fuck what you're doing in public. No one. They mind their own goddamn business. Also, everyone knows what Nintendo is.
>he thinks normies don't know what Nintendo is
Quentin please go
I can't find one online to buy, so I have no opinion other than they need to make more.
Literally everyone on this planet who live in modern civilization knows who Nintendo is.
It's a good handheld. And I really don't care about the hardware, I already have a good PC that can play the latest games.
Because they frame drop in different situations, so if you take the sum of playing both versions you end up with one full solid 30fps playthrough.
>It has a premium quality feel to it. The screen is really nice.
Is this bait or are you a shill?
The sceen is made of cheap low quality plastic.
Pintendrones please go. Even if people know what a "Nintendo" is, that doesn't change the fact that it's embarrassing to play in public. I can tell you for a fact everyone is thinking about what a child you are in their head, the only reason why people dont out you in public is because they're adults and have better things to do then make fun of someone playing on a fucking Dora The Explora tablet device.
How's it like to be this insecure on what normies think about you?
>How's it like to be this insecure on what normies think about you?
said the fat smelly neet virgin loser neckbeard whose stench makes people cringe as they walk past him while wahooo bling bling sounds on the background
Not worth buying it yet, but it has the potential to become the best handheld in the market
Even my parents know what nintendo, hell they call "a nintendo" every console in the market and they can't even type correctly in their smartphones
>it has the potential to become the best handheld in the market
Not gonna happen as long as Nintendo keeps pushing it as a home console.
The only way it could happen is if they re-release it with better battery life (5hs playing instead of 3hs), no dock to reduce price and replace the cheap plastic screen for a proper screen.
All that at a price of $200 or $250 tops.
>The only way it could happen is if they re-release it with better battery life (5hs playing instead of 3hs)
You know that will happen, dunno about the enhanced battery but they will re-release the switch, take it for granted.
Hell, if i get one i know i'll just use it as a big 3DS, and if the battery goes low i'll play while it charges.
You shouldn't. Port that shit to Cemu in a few months. So for you there's really zero games on Switch.
>a more consistent (but still shit) framerate is worth 500 Australian dollarydoos
Why can't Nintendo just fucking die and stop killing the industry. Just fucking die.
>strawmanning this hard
You keep telling yourself that buddy,
I love the hardware, just wish I had more than a single 8/10 game to play on it. Very much looking forward to Xenoblade 2.
Hoping the Safari exploits get us free games sooner rather than later
Zelda seems cool but the fact that that's the only game on it right now that's worth playing, plus the litany of embarassing design flaws and technical problems it has, means that right now it's not a worthwhile purchase. Maybe in six months once there's been another rollout or two and the library is better.
Also, I'm hugely sceptical of its power. I expect that performance is going to prove to be significantly lower than PS4 / Xbone eventually.
yes, let the butt-hurt flow through you, your salty tears are delicious
>mfw Nintendo's mere continued existence is enough to piss off sonybros
>mfw PC+Ninty mustard race
>I expect that performance is going to prove to be significantly lower than PS4 / Xbone eventually.
It already has. There's even teardowns that show it's just using an underclocked tegra x1.
It's weak.
>I expect that performance is going to prove to be significantly lower than PS4 / Xbone eventually.
? these things don't have to be proven "Eventually" you can look at the size and cost of electronic devices and basically extrapolate them outright.
nobody ever thought it would be anywhere close to ps4/xbone power...
He's probably only used to Nintendos 3DS and doesn't own a smartphone. Don't blame him.
Already returned it and if you haven't done so by now you are a literal tool
>So now the dust has settled, what is our opinion?
Shitty quality.
Lots of design flaws.
Underpowered hardware.
The low quality of the materials and the design flaws can be solved on the New Switch or whatever they will call it.
The underpowered hardware will be its bane since it wont get 3rd party games (RDR, CoD, GTAs, etc) meaning it will end up being WiiU 2.0.
But PC can already play Nintendo games?
It's a neat idea.
But I'm going to wait until they release the New Switch XL.
Apologists will say "I-it was always a handheld with a console gimmick!"
It's underpowered as fuck and the mobility is useless unless you're legitimately autistic enough to run around SO LONG GAY BOWSERing your way through life.
BotW seems neat though. Only played 5-10 hours on my room mates. I won't be buying one, then again i havent bought a console since the Gamecube.
This, I'm gonna wait till theres a revision and homebrew is on it.
> Nintendo has two handhelds in the market competing with each other
Will they release a 3DS sequel once they kill it?
Gotta admit, Nintendo makes a nice coffin lid!
underrated
The switch is not garbage hardware. It's half as strong as an Xbone as a handheld. That's actually pretty incredible. Of course that's because of the advancement of mobile tech and not Nintendo but it is what it is.
Could you imagine if the DS was half as strong as an xbox 360?
The Switch's launch actually makes sense to me. The system launched with a killer app and sold like hotcakes as a result.
What doesn't make sense to me is the PS4 and Xbone which launched with no games to speak of and still sold. Why they didn't flounder like the Wii U for not launching with shit for games isn beyond me, especially since multiplats appearing on last gen systems was still happening two years into this generation which has never happened before.
It's always fascinating watching sociopaths try to emulate normal people.
Wow the $300 Switch's screen isn't as nice as my $700 smart phone, really surprising!
Jack of all trades, master of none. Either the next WiiU, or the next N64/GC. Underpowered hardware that is as good as its library. I bet Nintendo would kill for N64 numbers nowadays.
I think it's hilarious that every Nintendo fan sees this as a handheld and every Sony fan sees this as a console.
