Streetpass was a pretty great feature back in the 3DS's heyday

>all those people swapping time high scores in 3d land and plastering your face on their games with your sweet times
>norende done in days cause fucktons of people were playing bravely default when it was new
>all those people for find mii

Shame they didn't put it in the switch, but that always seemed more of a console replacement. Did you get much action out of streetpass? Nowadays its pretty dead; hell I dont even put my 3DS in my bag anymore, but before I'd always get tons of passes and I was in canada of all places.

I feel that the router streetpass thing worked way better and should have been expanded on

Nintendo should make a phone app in which you can street pass others with the app and then transfer the data to your switch/3ds

StreetPass was one of my favorite 3DS gimmicks. It was incentive to bring the damn thing with you outside, and some of the minigames were fun, even.

I literally never got a single Street Pass. Then again when I was carrying my 3DS with me regularly I lived in the middle of nowhere, worked with a bunch of people significantly older than me, and the Walmart and Gamestop never did midnight launches.

I got a few but mostly people that never had any new or pink puzzle pieces.

>tfw going to a convention and getting literally hundreds of streetpasses

Nintendo should've had something like it on the Switch.

This.
Fuck this shit.
It's only worth a fuck in japan or conventions.

Toro's slave cave got this shit right, why the fuck can't nintendo?

It worked relatively well in urban areas. I live in NYC and got hits all the time.

But I'm sure it's the exception rather than the rule.

I used to get like 5 streetpasses a day on walks between about 30 people
I loved this a lot. Great way to interact with the people around you that also have the console. This would have fit so perfectly on the Switch

>NYC
>near the nintendo store and other fancy shit
>hurr it werks fine fer me
No shit

I enjoyed it quite a bit, even if getting streetpasses was a complete gamble where I lived. The minigames were enjoyable little bursts, and some of the features were pretty neat, like transferring weapon gems in Kid Icarus, getting hunters for hire and trading houses in New leaf where you could get a house with rare, catalogable furniture.

>live in apartment building on the side of a road
>tfw fire up 3DS one day
>600 people in my lobby thing
>reggie is there somehow
>got cheevo for meeting special mii thing

Did you neglect to read

>But I'm sure it's the exception rather than the rule

?

I built a streetpass relay out of a raspberry pi so I'll never run out of streetpasses, but I don't play the streetpass games anymore after beating find mii 1+2 and getting all the puzzle pieces. Even though I pirated the dlc games I never played them.

I completed every puzzle and went through the streetpass quest a couple of times. Not many people have a 3DS here though, so I got most of my hits at Nintendo fan meetups and traveling abroad.

>Even though I pirated the dlc games I never played them.
I did the same and honestly you didn't miss out on much. The only good DLC games were Mansion (Monster Manor) and Garden (Flower something in USA).

I only downloaded them at first because you can get more hats out of them but at the time I was busy with actual 3ds games and didn't want to waste time on em. I was content with the rabbit ears anyway.

Streetpass was pretty useless for me, living out in rural America. Most use I got out of it was when I had to spend some time at the hospital in a major city.

I wish they had something similar that worked in a general geographical region, there's no real public gathering spots near me where people would bring their 3DS. Or maybe add a forwarding app for smartphones that works the same, I gave up dragging that thing around everywhere after finding two streetpass people in the span of six months, but everyone tends to have their cellphones on them.

It was a fun feature. Used to get hits walking around on campus. It's past it's life now though.

used to take my 3DS to work just for the streetpasses and play coins

i liked the idea of kids getting their asses kicked by my shadow link in ALBW

Bitch I still get streetpasses whenever I go to uni

Streetpass was useless unless you lived in like new york or tokyo
I got one
Ever
ONE

>don't live in urban shitholes like NYC or SanFran
>never get streetpasses

Nintendo needs to stop designing handheld features while assuming everyone lives in Tokyo Japan.

>get hundreds of streepasses at convention
>only the first 10 count unless you go into Mii Plaza every few minutes

Nintendo literally can't do anything right.

it was amazing at cons i'd have to keep checking it

>feature that lets you put extra visitors in line only comes out at the end of the the system's life when all the street passes have dried up

Don't you guys have like mud or a cow to play with instead? What are you doing using the lightbox, you might be missing a radio drama.

that's really smart

I still get hits whenever I go out.

Streetpass was fucking rad for New Leaf

>streetpass in ORAS was fucking perfect
>not even in s/m

This

And I get 2 or 3 weekly from my home,it's actually impressive.

>i was the second person i knew to have a 3DS
>no pressure to play streetpass plaza games when i only streetpass a couple people but play find mii sometimes because it's fun
>watching dinosaur office and other stupid shit on nintendo video
>playing dream drop distance and MGS3 demos multiple times and not buying them because i was poor
>first games i got were nintendogs and sonic generations
>remember sitting alone in my house on my birthday shaking my 3DS for playcoins so i could buy missions

>everyone gets a 3DS
>friends mad i don't use puzzle swap more and whine if i don't have the pieces they need
>plaza adds more games
>friends play them all, want me to play them all
>can't keep up with all this shit, stop playing plaza completely
>after a while everyone else feels the same
>nobody touches their 3DS now

i want to go back

My brother gave me a n3ds last september for my birthday with New Leaf. Getting streetpasses for that and seeing other peoples houses is really fucking neat and i love when it happens. Sadly it happened only twice with people that also had NL.
I should get Luigi's mansion 2 some time, but maybe i should wait for halloween. I'm curious about Resident evil: Cold Fear edition too, but i'm not convinced it works that well with the analog nipple thing. Is the 360 version any good?

Those are some pretty odd differences
why the hell couldn't the non 3-ds versions have several save-files?
