GPD Win is a promising start for micro PCs but it's pretty cruddy for modern AAA gaming. Seems like a decent emulation machine---runs Dolphin GC games at native resolution well enough--but if you are looking to play games released in 2017 on a mobile handheld; you're better suited with a 3DS or Switch.

True enough. I basically got one so I can put all my PC indie and older games on it. Everything else I have my high-end desktop for. Plus, I love playing some of these games on the go, it's like a dream come true.
It doesn't run AAA, but I don't think I would expect that of a device like this. 3DS and Switch don't perform well enough to run a lot of the games the GPD will, however.

The Switch COULD play any game that GPD Win can better but i doubt half-a-decade old indies and isometric cRPGs will get re-re-released on it. Like all consoles/closed systems optimization will be easier due to a control hardware configuration.
