Next to Half Life its the best linear action game ever made, both are marked by sheer variety in combat scenarios and weapon experimentation.

I seriously never got the hype for this game. I played it for about 5 hours and was bored out of my mind at least for the last 3 in this repetitive sepia shooter. Maybe it gets better but the "Just play it for X hours and then it becomes good" meme is pretty bad. A game should start out good.

I'm not shitposting. I unironically don't understand the appeal of this game, nothing about it feels interesting. I'm not much of a RE guy in the first place but the older games at least were fun even if they had awkward as shit controls.

it does start out good. The village is a fucking awesome introduction. And there's nothing repetitive about it, this game has absolutely masterful pacing and level design. You're just shooting stuff yeah, but I've played through it like a dozen times and I'm still blown away by how smooth the critical path is.

I feel like graphics towards the end of the GCN/PS2 era were fine. Mario sunshine for example still looks great even today. They should've perfected the way these games ran and focused on fun game not GRAFIX and 4 hour theatrical experiences
