How fucking big is the planet pokemon takes place on? Seems like they're always discovering new continents they didn't know existed before.
How fucking big is the planet pokemon takes place on...
4Kids
To be fair they are very small continents.
I didn't know entire continents had maybe ten cities on them and were roughly the size of a smaller Japanese island, you thick fuck.
It was less about continents and more about discovering new Pokemon which didn't really make sense anyway. GSC tried to handwave it with Oak giving you a Pokedex as if the Pokemon just weren't recorded but even then it doesn't really make sense.
What did they mean by this?
It's like a miniature version of Earth, every new region is based geographically and thematically on a real country. I guess we'll know exactly how big it is when Game Freak runs out of recognizable Earth locations, and have to think of something new.
I really thought Sun and Moon would take place in space somewhere, really disappointed they aren't changing up the Pokemon setting a bit
>getting your hopes up for literally anything in Pokémon changing
Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh are all based on regions of Japan.
She wants to mate.
...
there's 7 main regions discovered so far, not including the spin-offs that double that amount. Think about how big our world is. Do you think all those regions are enough to fill a planet?
Well, 'they' is us, as in real people.
I don't think the in-game characters of other regions don't know about the equivalent of NYC or France. 'Muh Lore'? Probably not, talk about over-thinking it.
I know, I won't do it again
Its as big as Nintendo wants it to be
When will pokemon and metroid get their botw? I would stop holding off on the switch if those two games happened
I'm glad nintendo stop shilling this blue retard
for now
the planet seems to be stupidly big and with immense oceans apart from each region. looking at hoenn and kanto map, i got really surprised to see that the distance between hoenn and kanto is insane.
the whole each region having legendaries involved with them while barely anyone outside that certain region knows about other legendaries of other regions too. travelling to other countries also seems to be a major pain
>Gen 4 Remakes inevitable
>Every End game trainer has a Lucario
...
They gave up on the "discovery" thing after gen 2. All new Pokemon are treated as if they were always around.
>Gen 4 Remakes
Absolutely gross
>they remake Diamond and Pearl versions, not Platinum
>Another Battle Tower instead of a proper Battle Frontier
OK anons, I was kinda dissapointed by S/M so I never got them. Tell me, are they worth it? Is it a cakewalk like X/Y?
2nd playthrough, about to quit because I forgot the story gameplay is
>walk for 5 sec
>interrupted by cutscene
>battle 1-3 trainers
>repeat
it's _ok_
>they """""forget""""" the post-game
I can just see the stupid article now
The first four games all take place in the same country, which is Japan-sized.
The fifth occurs in what is basically upstate New York with some desert mixed in
The sixth is only in the equivalent of Normandy.
Ye, think I'll pass then. OR/AS was a huge blow already with Emerald being my fave game.
As big as they want it to be?
Earth-sized. Every region is based to some degree on a real-life location. We can only go on to assume that, although there are some inaccuracies in scale and geography, the Pokemon world is supposed to be a cartoonized version of our own with some liberties taken.
The deal now is that they act like every pokemon game takes place roughly within a period of a couple years. So it's like all these disparate places are starting their own effort to catalog local pokemon species around the same time.
I still don't know how people can justify them leaving out a ton of Emerald's additions in the remake.
Since when does anything in Pokemon make any sense?
>hello I'm dr Oak, the worlds number 1 expert in Pokemon!
>I made a device that can record information on pokemon!
>sadly it's empty, cause apparently I haven't encountered a single pokemon in my 50+ years working as a pokemon expert!
>actually the information on the monsters is already there, you just gotta unlock it!
>you there! yes, the ten year old kid! what do you say I give you this thing so you can travel the world all alone filling the device with information about all sorts of absurdly powerful and dangerous creatures?
>what? who cares what your mom has to say about it! get in here and choose a pokemon you little faggot!
kek prof oak is actually chad. He fucks your mom while you go out and do his work
haha yeah dude what if professor oak fucks your mom?
also what if mario's mushrooms are actually psychedelic mushrooms? haha
dude, it's okay. getting cucked by oak would make me mad too
>a bike costs 1 million pokedollars
>fucking your mom is getting cucked
is theres something you want to tell us user? I'm not an incestfag myself but different strokes for different folks
It's pretty much just retards going "BUT THEY'RE REMAKES OF RUBY AND SAPPHIRE!!!" even though R/S didn't have the Battle Maison and G/S didn't have the fucking Battle Frontier.
Meh, the word cuck has devolved into basically meaning any situation where you get fucked over.
you're not getting cucked when it's your fucking mom.
>he doesn't fuck his hot mom
...
God damn, Kanto was comfy as fuck
>Colony ship from Earth drops out of hyperspace suddenly due to sabotage from Earth powermongers who don't want a successful Earth colony providing freedom-lovers new places to escape their tyranny. Arceus senses their plight and creates a solar system within the colony ship's sublight travel range, populates it with helpful wildlife. The ship manages to reach the habitable planet. Colonists disembark, lose touch with one another while getting their shit in order.
>The fifth occurs in what is basically upstate New York with some desert mixed in
It's full of prisons, farms and hicks?
>continents
Kalos is basically just france and Alola is basically just Hawaii. Nevermind that the first five gens are just parts of Japan. The only region that's based on an out-and-out continent is Unova. Presumably the size is all relative to the lands they're based on too.
That is literally upstate new york.
I only played Sapphire growing up and never gave a shit about the emerald stuff being left out as a result.
Doesn't mean I didn't have my own problems with the remakes, mainly that Mauville was basically an entirely new (and shittier) city. I dunno I think all I really wanted was Sapphire with a day/night cycle and not an actual gen 6 game set in Hoenn.
aren't pokedollars basically just yen? no way the average kid has 300 bucks they're blowing on a single pokeball. that'd be like spending $300 on some dog food.
though yeah $10,000 for a bike is all kinds of fucked
Yeah, that's what I'm getting at. Haven't played B/W yet so I'm seriously asking. I used to live in upstate NY - one of the comfiest places on earth, but I had to move out since the job market's nonexistent.
>Not liking Mallville
Honestly I thought it was one of the better additions to the remakes. Mauville wasn't exactly a very stand-out city in the originals
If they wanted to force the player to go and get the voucher in order to get the bike they could ave come up with a less retarded excuse that "sorry kid you only can carry 999999 bucks and this bike costs one million"
I mean, 10k$ bikes DO exist.
Thats some real fucking premium shit though.
Their currency system is inflated to hell and back. Then again, pokemon get free health care.
BIG
DOG
KNOT
...
Of course they exist but I mean, you don't just go to a shop and buy one off a rack. And even if you do surely those kinds of places, in a decently sized city in a rural area, would have much cheaper options for the average person.
I think, canonically, all of these regions already existed and each new game it just happens no body mentioned that region or its Pokemon before.
IWTFTL
It's literally our planet and all the regions are parallels of real life locations.
>All the alien Pokemon are bioweapons sent from Earth to kill the colonists
BUT HEY IT'S JUST A THEORY
I Want To Feel The Lupus?
Is Gamefreak purposely promoting Pokephilia?
>I don't think the in-game characters of other regions don't know about the equivalent of NYC or France.
Doesn't Black/White take place in the Pokemon version of NYC and the surrounding areas?
Someone post the Pokémon with the "fuck me" eyes
Glaceon?
That's a lot of Pokemon
SPOOK'D
I always thought pokemon was small af place, there is hardly 10 people in the big towns too
>make "the" pokemon god your bitch
>no one gives a shit
Gen 4 was a mistake
>thought legendary pokemon was just this one pokemon of its kind
>nope, there exist multipel versions of them. they just very rare
who is to say there is only one arceus?
Sure, then you watch the anime and Pallet Town is the size of inner Toronto.
