Why is the Nintendo Switch still sold out?
Why is the Nintendo Switch still sold out?
Artificial scarcity
because it did fairly good and sold many copies. Now we wait till it restocks
It takes time to actually make things
/thread
"Sold Out" is a much better headline than "Nintendo has yet to sold initial stock"
theyre not sold out...
I work at target and we've had a dozen or so in the back for weeks. But aren't allowed to sell the until we get the go ahead from Nintendo.
>But aren't allowed to sell the until we get the go ahead from Nintendo.
>MFW towards Nintendo.
Holy shit has Nintendo got more retarded? Don't they want sales?
>believing a "my dad works at target" post with zero proof.
I think you're retarded if you believe this is how retail works.
Funny you should say that, because I work at Target and you're talking shit.
You'd be able to get one if scalping was illegal.
Why are there no Wii-U copies of BotW at any of my local Wal-Mart's, yet every Switch copy is left to collect dust?
Scalping is only profitable because the product is under supplied
Digital copies
You neanderthals fail to realize that Nintendo does not give a shit about making money. They care about making groundbreaking games that redefine what the words 'fun' and 'masterpiece' mean while putting the West to complete and utter shame.
They see owning a Nintendo console as a privilege for the dedicated few not as an orgy for plebeian autists like the PlayStation, XBox or PC.
So do they care when there's a stock shortage? Why should they? Those who deserve to have a Switch made a plan to get one.
Do they care when they make a little less revenue from their consoles? Why would they? They're the only company making a profit off said consoles.
Do they care when Sony and the PC get a great title like The Witcher 3? Not for a second. They make the best open world game ever made and blow the fuck out of the competition into a hole of shame.
Nintendo wins my friends. And every single thread like this makes that more obvious.
This would be an excuse if Nintendo didn't have months to prepare for console production. The Switch isn't harder to manufacturer than other consoles despite what Nintendo fanboys delude themselves to believe otherwise
>You neanderthals fail to realize that [for profit company] does not give a shit about making money.
Stopped reading there. Opinion jettisoned
These people are retarded though. Do you realize how many scalpable items exist? Any of them could net you more of a profit than Switches. Like shoes, and don't fucking try and tell me that they probably just don't know the shoe game, because it's a shoe, you scalp some sold out Jordans to a dumb black guy for 800 bucks.
And that makes it ok?
It actually makes it even worse, there is already a limited amount of these, and it's just taking advantage of people.
When these people just snipe out fucking anything with only intent to sell.
It should be akin to someone selling a water bottle for 20$ after a hurricane because there is a low supply of water.
yeah man nintendo really does hate money
fucking retard
Because it's fucking awesome. I got mine from a scalper for $450 with a copy of Zelda
Nintendo did get prepared for manufacturing. The problem is their sales projections which they were getting ready for were about half of what the actual figures turned our to be.
fpca
user, you literally don't know shit about dick, so why act like you do
Is that why a big ass shipment of Switches arrived today on the west coast for big retail stores like Target and Walmart?
that's a pretty good deal for the scalper
Cost me a pro controller. I even got neon joy cons
In most cases Nintendo does generally do low shipping to create a false sense of worth and rush.
But in this specific Switch case, the system launch was very clearly rushed this time around. They simply did not have enough units ready because production began late.
>buying digital games on the Switch
Who is actually that stupid?
For the same reason Nintendo isn't anouncing global sales stats. Artificial shortage and hype. It sold far less units than the Xbox One and PS4. Even with all 16 million units produced first year sold it won't reach PS4 levels.
>bought a console on release day with BotW
>gave it to my nephew because I like him more than I like myself
>go to buy another switch so I can play BotW because it was amazing
>sold out everywhere, went to a bunch of different stores at lunch today since none of them will show availability online and a few won't do so over the phone
>sold out everywhere
>talk to gamestop "yeah, we're supposed to get some this week, but we don't know what day, or even a general idea of time, but it's first come first serve"
Fucking scalpers are the worst. None in stock locally in stores but I can find 10+ online on Facebook/Craigslist . Why do I feel likes it's a giant conspiracy by the low paid retail employees and friends/families/scalpers?
Because the Switches are sold out, leaving them with the only option of buying the version for the console they already own
If it makes you feel any better the scalpers are not making much now. The first few days at launch is where they made a killing but now most of them make like $75 profit. Tomorrow Gamestop is supposed to get a huge restock of the switches and Amazon is supposed to get them next month, so I'm sure the scalping price will even further drop.
Changed my Xbox + 2 controllers + Overwatch for Switch. Only paid 80€ for console + Zelda.
