Get the HD trilogy. First game's a bit glitchy but it'll do

I know, it's cool and all. Ratchet games perform much better than most PS2 games and they do it with better graphics too.
I feel like people overestimate the performance aspect just a little though, it's pretty easy to get framedrops.

I didn't notice any glitches.

Alpha effects like the Snagglebeast's shield don't look like they should. Audio looping is kind of fucked and Ratchet's helmet is ridiculously big compared to his head in 2 and 3's cutscenes.

Minor stuff but it makes the game feel like a cheap emulation rather than an actual port.

Leagues above other games in trilogy.

I greatly enjoyed this one.

Get the HD Trilogy, then Tools of Destruction, A Crack in Time, and then Into The Nexus.

I'd also recommend Deadlocked, it does a lot of things different but it's still really good regardless.

Quest for Booty is kind of okay, but it's not as long or heavy on replayability, but it has some fun ideas. ACiT's intro explains everything you need to know in terms of plot.

Avoid All 4 One, Full Frontal Assault and the PSP games like the plague.

1 and 3 are the best of the PS2 games. 2 was a necessary transition, but is extremely unpolished and just has the second best of everything while being full of shitty side content that isn't fun.
