Y E S

It disappoints me that at some point they started removing features in order to appeal to the Skate audience. Tony Hawk wasn't about being an authentic skating experience, it was about doing over the top combos.

Absolutely but I probably would get bored really quickly if the released a faithful sequel, just would not be the same

Yes and Tenchu series

Was project 8 the last okay tony hawk's game?

SO HERE I AM

ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE

...

They will always have a spot in my heart, but I stopped caring about Tony Hawk games when skate came out.

I'm back at the crossroads again...
Oh, let me stand, let me stand, let me stand,
On top of the mountain again!

There are people on this board right now who have not played tony hawk's games

THUG2 is the best stoyline and soundtrack.

You should try out thug pro famalam

>1999
>play THPS1 at a friends house
>enjoy the shit out of it
>play split screen and play together all the time
>2001 rolls around
>finally get a PS1 because they're cheap enough for us to get one because we're poor
>dad's friend puts a chip in it and burns us a shitload of games to go with it
>THPS1, THPS2, Fear Effect, RE3, and Twisted Metal 3
>eventually get a PS2 in 2002 along with THPS3 and 4
>get THUG the day it comes out, same for THUG2
>even got pretty good at skateboarding because of the games

THUG1 and THPS2 will forever hold a special place in my heart.

YOU'RE NOT THE SAME
YOU'VE CHANGED
I DON'T NEED YOU ANYWAY
YOU'RE NOT THE PERSON
THAT I BELIEVED IN YESTERDAY

I didn't care for the small and cramped maps. Arcade mode and the maps you unlocked were better imho.

To add onto my opinion, I hated AW because the maps all sucked and the characters were horrible.

Fuck off autist all extreme sports threads get ruined

They were fun but the skating/CKY culture that made THUG and its sequel possible hardly exists anymore so it wouldn't be as fun. Its all about technicality and tricks now instead of getting drunk and filming dumb shit with your friends. There are no cool sponsors anymore, mainly just Nike. And after playing Skate for a while going back to Tony Hawk mechanics feels wonked as fuck.

You could make a case for any game in the entire series except maybe that Robomodo garbage for it having the best soundtrack.

>THUG2
>Best story
It was literally just Jackass.

>Tfw Tony Hawk games got you into skateboarding

>all those based Tony Hawk games
>SSX Tricky and SSX3
>even fun crazy sports games like NBA Street v3 and the Fight Nights
>based Def Jam Fight for NY and Def Jam Vendetta

goddamn the gaming landscape sure is shit now, there used to be so much variety and just games bursting at the fuckin seams

PS2/Xbox/GameCube truly was a time to be alive

I hated pro skaters with the timer shit

No it didn't. It rode entirely on the Viva La Bam fad at the time, which I couldn't fucking stand because all my faggy friends at school wanted to be him. Even had a fat friend named Chris that would wear open sweaters with no shirt underneath and messy hair and would push people off the boards, laugh obnoxiously, then make rocker fists. He also bought wristbands with the heartagram on them.

One day he pushed my friend off his board and fucked up his ankle. My friend proceeded to beat the everloving piss out of him and call him a "stupid fucking wannabe" which prompted him to ease up on trying to be Bam.

Creating games at an acceptable level of quality with good tech used to not cost a quarter billion dollars.

It was easier to try new shit and experiment.

>Underground 2
>old Tony Hawk game

How is 13 years old not old?

What's the online like? Is every room gonna have one of those guys that does 1 billion point combos 5 minutes past the timer?

I actually liked them less once they started letting you walk around without timers and shit. I appreciate that for most people the first few games that do that are the high point of the series but I just generally prefer 1-3.

>no HIM songs in any game
Surprising desu

Same. How gud did you get?

THAW is actually my favorite Tony Hawk game, but if you gave me a copy of THUG1 I'd play that shit in a heartbeat.

>look for Mad Capsule Markets - pulse, because it was my favorite THPS3 song

>It's literally impossible to find a proper soundtrack version of the song

The game version of Alien Ant Farm's "Wish" was an altered version of the song as well.

That fucking explains some shit
Thank you for pulling the veil from my eyes after all these years, user.

You do know there was a THPS 3 soundtrack released on cd right?

The only place you'll likely find the version of the song you're looking for is on Youtube.

you could just download the album it's from, or failing that (or if is the reason) then surely you could just rip the version from the game's files.

Wrestling games dried up too in the PS3/360 era and it was just the WWE games. Thank god there seems to be renewed interest in it.

>trying to get all the secret tapes in THPS1

no it wasn't good

Underground 1 was the last good game

>Not liking Jackass

YOU'RE not the same

There are several tapes in THPS1 and 2 that I would have never found if I didn't look that shit up during computer lab.
Seriously some of those fuckers were tucked away real well.

not him but like fakie 3 flip is the hardest trick i can land

"no"

Why aren't extreme sports cool anymore? Do the X games even exist anymore?

PULL DOWN YOUR DRESS HERE'S A KICK IN THE ASS
LETS BEAT YOU BLUE TIL YOU SHIT YOUR PANTS
DONT MOVE, CHILD GOT A BIG BLACK STICK
THERE'S SIX OF US BABE, SO SUCK ON MY DICK

I compared project 8 to underground and it was shit

spinning around was jaggy as fuck and the maps are meh

THUG doesn't count as "hold tony hawk games". THPS3 was the last good one.

In Europe, yes.

They exist still in the US but are largely unadvertised or broadcasted anymore like they were in the 2000s.

American TV is all about reality and American Football.

I was able to do those but I remember tre flips being really fucking exhausting fsr, so I never got gud at them

Inward heelflips and hardflips are cancer

>I was able to do those but I remember tre flips being really fucking exhausting fsr, so I never got gud at them
Yea it's hard at first but once you get them down it's easy.

>Inward heelflips and hardflips are cancer
Never done them the fucking flip foot gets in the way of the spin. Done varial heel cause that makes sense

SO HERE I AM

Tony Hawks Underground will forever hold a special spot in my heart.

Best story, one of the all time best villains and a great soundtrack to boot.

Play thugpro and stop being a pleb.

>Maps from almost every THPS
>Create a skater
>Online play

Google thugpro and forget the fact that THPS is dead as fuck and robomodo shit on its already rotting corpse.

>in order to appeal to the Skate audience.
What? The last Neversoft Tony Hawk came out around the same time Skate 1 did.

Nope

I loved them but they became shit the moment i played Skate

>Tfw no PC version

REMEMBER WHEN
REMEMBER WHEN
REMEMBER WHEN FJHSDFOUREFQEHFGQUGHFKERJHGEL;QRKJGFL

NEVER AGAIN
NEVER AGAIN
JDFIQUREBFLIQEGFIQLEWHJGFBIQEURFGIQEURFIUUJTHR

THUG 2 was the last

fair never played it though

I see you are also watching the best friends play through :^)

I like the bullet-time flip because i would do the most retarded and impossible flip every time (just straight forward end-over-end) and thought it was funny. but yes that was a pretty shit game

>thugpro
This.

haha yes my guy. lil woolz ftw!!1!!

Doesn't it require getting a pc copy of THUG 2 to function on a piece of hardware made in the last decade? Last I heard it was a technical nightmare.

Their Tony Hawk LP is the only one of their LPs I've watched.

Are they always this bad at video games?

Yes

i liked the tony hawk series. my favorite was thps3 but project 8 was fun

>listened to AFI in middle school because of THPS3
>get made fun of because Davey Havok is gay
>sit alone and listen to my CDs during lunch of my junky CD player
>eventually make friends with the punk rocker group and meet some of the coolest kids I ever knew
>they all grew up to be insufferable pretentious hipsters

I still listen to their early shit.

I installed Thug 2 on windows 8.1 just fine

And they somehow made a career of this? Who the fuck tolerates this?

I was playing just last week with no issues. You could have some problems if you run W10, but other than that its been smooth and is updated fair frequently.

You can just pirate THUG2, there is a torrent that has the game and mod bundled together.

i didnt know davey was gay, i though only jade was. dude afi early shit is fucking awesome compared to their new shit.

>get made fun of because Davey Havok is gay
Is he really?

everything after decemberunderground is horseshit

Sing the Sorrow was basically his "coming out" album dude.

Did you not see him at all during the Decemberunderground days? He's totally gay.

I teamed up with you fags a few years ago and made this.

A soundtrack of six songs from every good THPS game (1-THUG). 30 songs total.

yes, i was excited to hear they were coming back, until i heard their album and yeah it was a let down. Im listening to "lower it" right now, that bassline intro make my spine tingle

there's a documentary about the games on indiegogo

thpsfilm.com

him being gay doesnt change the way i enjoy their music. hes a solid singer/ songwriter.

I loved THUG but nothing can ever replace the fond memories of THPS2

Precisely. Can't say I enjoy their newer stuff. Although, Their newest album actually isn't THAT bad.

It actually feels pretty throwback to their older stuff in some ways.

All those bands looked gay as fuck during that time though. STS is great. Never knew what it was about.

This guy sounds pretty rad OP

I bet you were one of the pussies he pranked on

the blood album ?? theyre on tour im thinking of going to watch them. id love to hear "he who laughs last" live

Mates! Nigel Beaverhausen!

Writer, producer, director

We had one of those in my group of friends in middle school. Nobody liked him, and his obsession with Jackass / VLB just outcasted him because he was too obnoxious / annoying to be around. He actually tried starting a fight with a few of us because we stopped inviting him to our skate park groups every Friday. Had his mom drop him off, started shit, got kicked out, and had to call his mom to come pick him up 20min later.

Post god tier tracks.

>that guitar riff that plays before the Birdhouse montage in THUG does not exist in any form outside the game
youtube.com/watch?v=SWEhWILrqvk

FUUUUCK.

Dude.

You have absolutely ZERO fucking idea how long, far, and hard I searched for the origin of that riff.

Shit evoked such peace and tranquility upon me that I had to know the origin, but never found it. I wish I could email an old Neversoft dev about it. Never thought to at the time.

THPSHD and THPS5 were really fucking disappointing.
>Literally clip through the map every other time I bail.

I'm right there with you user. I posted threads on Sup Forums, dug into youtube comments, and last year I tweeted Tony Hawk (no response obviously) it seems like they recorded an original guitar riff just for that 30 second video which makes no fucking sense.

THPSHD is so fucking floaty. The Neversoft games had incredibly tight controls and this other company making the new games doesn't have a shot in hell of replicating that.

its Anthony Julies - Twilight Fixations

they recorded original songs for project 8 too iirc
youtube.com/watch?v=INCnr7gM1uc

I've been down this road before. Googling it only turns up other threads saying that's what the song is. Can't find a video site that has it or a download link anywhere.

I don't think so. I think it was part of an entire song. It even has a hat count to drums at the end, signifying that more comes soon after.

Fuck man. Now that song is gonna haunt me again.

Oh fuck. Dude, do you have a link tot he song? Google yields nothing.

I wonder what the origin of that is.

Nope. Might not even be it though but a lot of people seem to think it is.

No idea. If there was some way to find the song's name online at all for these people to find that out it would definitely turn up somewhere in search results. I've literally looked for this song for years and found nothing.

From reddit:

People have been searching for this song for ages. It's supposedly called Twilight Fixations - Anthony Julies but no one seems to find it.
Someone wrote to BBC about this and this is their answer:
Thank you for taking the time to get in touch with us. I've looked into this for you and I'm afraid that the music is production music, not commercially available. Sorry to disappoint you on this occasion. Kindest regards Tracey McKay BBC Enquiries Team
