Hell yes. It's pretty damn fun. Although I did just fucking waste a half hour in the Ruins dungeon. Did all 5 floors and apparently staying in the big room warps you down farther. I got turned around and couldn't tell which was the exit. Than I got spanked hard and lost all my drops and xp from that time.
Kind of pissed still.

It's not a skyrim or ubisoft open world. Pretty much it's just the usual maps all connected. Works pretty well actually, helps the world building a lot.

Heads up guys. You can't disable VOIP in game so if you play with friends on Discord you get an echo.

I refunded and am just gonna get PS4 version instead. Game ran kinda blah on my PC anyway, loading took forever.

I completed the demo by finishing all of the quests even the ones that pop up on the map. Thinking of getting it but ω-Force has a habit of making expanded version of the game every year.

Is it possible to carry two weapons at a time? I like the sword and shield style but want to try out rifle.

The bonus data gave you pretty good starting armor in the first one, i hope its like that then.

It's okay. It gives 300 armor and decent elemental resist. The free DLC everyone's getting (Tenko armor) is basically better.


The set that you can craft like 1 hour into the game gives better physical defense but not as good elemental resist. The next set quickly overtakes it.

I played keyboard; it's totally fine. I prefer controller, and I think it's better overall.

I'm rotating most weapons. I have not really tried the fist, sickle, short sword, or chain whip though.

In all seriousness, I would've enjoyed having a party member that uses each weapon like the 1st game and nearly this game instead of having duplicate. It's not a big deal, because Mitama defines playstyles just as much, and they have one character for each Mitama category.

A bow is quieter, you can recover ammo, less expensive, easier to maintain.

Still nowhere near as good as a rifle in the long run though.

I just played though Nier so picking up items with X instead of O is going to be annoying.

Haven't got Toukiden 2 yet so I couldn't tell you.

They probably do comparable damage since videogames don't have to be realistic.

Bows have lock on abilities as well as not having to worry about focusing on ammo types and preparation.

Think they got a debuff attack too. And an AOE.

Nah, I played the Vita version of the first game, it felt too much like Dynasty Warriors than Monster Hunter.

Gave me a bad impression of Hunter clones afterwards, I'm just going to stick to actual Monster Hunter games.

Yes. But its more of a loose sequel than a direct one.

Man the perma-destruction animations, while hella anime, are also really satisfying. It's nice to see enemies sort of go WELL FUG when you take away their main means of attack or whatever.

Anyone know what the fuck you get for collecting all those stupid collectable thingies? Is it worth it? I'm missing only one in the Age of Peace and can't fucking find it anywhere and it's pissing me off.

How does the combat and story in this compare to God Eater 2 Burst?

I thought God Eater 2 was alright, but my friend hated it and didn't last long. I think mainly she was annoyed by the the dialogue/characters and story which was completely uninteresting to her, and the combat controls felt too clunky for her.

I'm really only interested in this if we can play together and she'll actually enjoy it.

Is the save file from the demo region locked? Thinking of getting it but my local shop sells the game with a different region than my save file.

Also, are all the armors Japanese design only or are full plate armor unlockable later in the game?

I think they added too many mechanics in one game, holy shit. I skimmed trough the demo and i didnt understand what half of the new buttons do.

Which weapons are the most difficult/rewarding to play properly?

Heres some work around:

Try windows 7 compatibility
Run it windowed just in case/use borderless gaming
Turn off particle effects and shadows

Im probably going to go with fists since you need to time your hits well.

Probably fist and mace are the hardest to master. Wouldnt know about rewarding, i found them a bit ass compared to other weapons in kiwami.
