I think it is unironically a fantastic game, without a doubt, I don't think it really qualifies as an rpg. Yes it has those peg elements, but I think that, since they feel more like a subversion of rpg elements to mislead the player, they shouldn't be taken to heavily into consideration. Even in genocide mode your stats hardly mattered.
