Love it
How is it compared to Insurgency?
its the same exact feel except on a cooler setting and the guns are older
bolt action goodness my nigga
It's really good. Although the player base is thin as paper and dunno if it's gonna survive long.
They completely botched the release though.
It was released more than an hour late on Steam, then it wasn't even visible on news feed well after mid night in Europe nor could you see it anywhere on store page. It's like Valve isn't marketing it at all nor give a shit.
I feel like it kind of was a flop.
Best hope for this not to die if for them to work on an Italian faction DLC with a pretty good sale to go with it.
enfield with greased bolt is all you need to know
It's significantly more fast paced though.
Lots more explosions and smokes. Which can be a good or bad thing.
Moreover you get impact grenades, white phosphorus grenades, artillery and air support, flame throwers ect.. ect..
Born to Kill Vietnam mod has already been ported btw. The Source WW1 mod is also moving to Day of Infamy.
>1300 player all-time peak
>peak today of 1000
Really hesitant on buying a brand new game that was sitting on 300-400 players a mere 12h ago.
Also rifle grenades and dismemberment.
Hows the map sizes? Is it still restricted to Source Engine's shitty map limitations? That was my problem with insurgency
It's about the same size, probably a bit bigger overall.
If they're willing to constantly put Insurgency on sale for a $1 because of the community almost dying, then I'm sure they'll do the same for this game as well. They seem to have enough respect to their customers to make sure they didn't waste money on their purchase and I got mad love for them.
Thinking about buying this... but I've been going crazy with buying games lately
This game gives you that feeling of being in a tense gunfight whilst also managing not to be a giant campfest. Amazing FPS
It's gonna be like insurgency and need to be in a shitload of bundles and giveaways before it becomes even remotely alive.
>I got mad love for them
>still don't own the game after nine months of EA
ew
When DoD was out I used to call myself THE_SHOVELER. I was a fucking god. Routine kill scores of 140+ to less than ten.
My friends were just as good too. God damn, man... Being good at something makes you feel powerful AF.
i would have played insurgency more if the gameplay wasnt grueling and slow due to dying in 1 shot from any weapon regardless of where you got shot, you can get shot in the toe with 9mm and instantly die, which means gameplay is an agonizingly slow crawl, and combat is decided by which person can see a pixel of the opponent first
don't get me wrong, i like realistic shootan (arma is the first thing that comes to mind) but the insurgency mod felt a lot better than the standalone game. with that said, i don't have very high hopes for day of infamy.
Well I have admiration for the practices of many studios, but that doesn't mean I have money to spare for something I know I don't need or want in every instance. I need to be in the right mood for particular genre's and I'm kind of burnt out on the mp shooter at the moment
Less than ten deaths, that is*
>powerful AF
yeah, the fact that you use facebook lingo that 12 year olds use, combined with scores that not even gun users reached because matches were too short is a pretty dead giveaway that you are making shit up to try and get recognition on an ANONYMOUS imageboard
So I can finally refund it? Excellent
They changed the armor system quite a bit months ago. Anyway Insurgency is all about knowing the maps, I move around a lot personally and can get quite a bit of kills. git good.
Wasn't that shit only a bug on KF2?
>Wasn't that shit only a bug on KF2?
where the fuck did you hear that dummy?
Can you get a refund for any game once it's out of early access regardless of playtime? That just seems odd.
yes you can, its there to protect the consumer.
if a product doesnt meet its promises for example.
I know consumer rights may sound like a foreign thing to american
Why do you assume I'm American?
I wondered the same once before and couldn't find any source other than the people here spamming threads about KF2 refunds.
I just wonder how it works for games that have particularly long early access, like DayZ for instance. What happens when they finally are forced to release it? Bohemia has to refund Valve? LoL
Why would it be you can't refund after two hours gameplay during early access but somehow you can after they release it officially.
That just doesnt' seem to make much sense mate. Do you have proof?
store.steampowered.com/earlyaccessfaq
It was a bug with KF2.
As far as Valve is concerned, when you buy a Early Access title you buy a full game.
If the dev doesn't deliver or if the game is abandonned mid development it's on you.
I bought it and refunded it a while ago. It was pretty boring. I like how lethal the game is but it leads to a lot of waiting because of the spawn system. I got real bored with it real fast. You could even time when people would be cresting hills or attempting runs at chokes. I started prefiring because of it and getting kills.
The game might be for some but its not for me. I like more active and involved games.
Is my raifu in this game?
Of course.

You'd be better off playing Red Orchestra or Squad. There was no reason for this game to be made.
Is this the CoD 2 clone that was on kickstarter like half a year ago?
That pretty much sums it up. The game is fun when you're attacking AND you have a competent officer/radioman team. It can be fun defending, too, but pushing objectives is always more fun since you can run it fast.
>red orchestra
but ostfront is dead
Yeah. I bought it a few months back. It's far better now at release.
It's probably my go-to FPS now. It's the best of Insurgency and Day of Defeat thrown together into a more team orientated game.
>There was no reason for this game to be made.
If you want faster gameplay than RO2 and better close quarters infantry combat than Squad, it's a no brainer.
This is a stand alone of a big mod they made for Insurgency you faggot
I really liked Insurgency but this game looks and plays really bad, a damn shame. Maybe because i'm too used to red orchestra and this thing doesn't compare in any way.
I feel the same way. I like how Insurgency plays and I thought this would be the same, but it's clunky and the A.I. seems worse.
>squad
>close quarters
every video i have seen of that fucking game is pixel hunting a tiny moving speck at 1000 meters type shit
You mean either Battalion 44 or Days of War.
The later got slammed pretty hard on Steam and currently have 40 people playing...
Battalion got Square Enix to publish them, but so far it seems like it's gonna suck as well.
This shit happens when a bunch of talentless morons get together to fabricate fancy trailers using Unreal Engine assets to scam a bunch of retards on kickstarter.
It's nothing like Red Orchestra 2 though and Squad is utter garbage and even less related anyway.
>competent officer/radioman
This.
I had a game on Crete this morning, defending, playing as an officer and a couple of guys always on my back with a radio. Germans never got past first objective, we slaughtered them.
Then same map, same side but officer slots occupied by retards who couldn't be bothered to call support. Needless to say it was a very painful fight that we lost because of sheer retardness.
That shit is why you can't have nice things. The slightest gameplay mechanic that involves more than just moving from A to B and most people are lost.
What is this shit?
Ebin cosmetics, now every game will have them.
That's why I quit playing. I might revisit it in a couple of months, but no one plays the game the way it was intended to be played and it makes for a tedious experience.
Shortcut.
You get those by levelling up in game for free.
>Squad is utter garbage
Spot the butthurt PR fag
PR is old and clunky, but it has all the content Squad will never have. Squad is just that good looking slut you fuck once and then get bored with.
I'm not paying 20 shekels for a source engine game "!
>AOE LMAO SO FUN
Tell me, is it worse than battlefield, or the same shit?
PR also has a mega autism community that won't let anyone just play the game to fuck around, you gotta go full milsim and listen to the armchair commander
no i'm not defending squad either i'm just saying PR is also shit

Don't ask questions, you're an animal in human form and only exist to serve us
I don't find Battlefield to be fun at all tbqh.
This is certainly more enjoyable if you're good at shooters and enjoy crushing your enemy and hear the lamentation of the children.
Yeah, can't really argue with that.
Tbh I prefer Red Orchestra 2 to Insurgency so this is probably not for me
PURCHASE HAS BEEN REFUNDED!!!!!
THAT WAS FUCKING QUICK!!!!
Gonna do the same.
>indian on the cover
Get the fuck outta here with that.
I noted how the final release wasn't what the devs promised (didn't specify what) and requested Steam wallet instead of credit card.
You can't refund the game while it's still Early Access, but the game time played is reset so to speak when it goes to full release. I've read that else where and it must be true because I received a refund. I haven't played the game in a couple of weeks and read in a thread about the possibility of a refund when a game comes out of EA. We'll find out if it's a fluke if they revoke the refund while it's processing or if they deny it to others.
All these so called "Day of Defeat" spiritual succesors (DOI, DOW and B1944) are gonna be mere cashgrabs pandering on nostalgia.
Well DOI at least is made by people who can pull off a rewarding and solid shooting experience even if the Source engine at this point really needs to die.
Days of War I refunded after an hour, it was just so awful on so many levels and yet judging by the trailers it was by far the most promising compared to Battalion 44.
The maps are same/bigger size as Insurgency.
Anyone here tested this new russian scam? Looks a bit like Ostfront but probably will be another dissapointment.
Was curious about it too, but then...
You just got to feel bad for these guys.
Yeah, I never saw that at any time in the game. That's fucking weird
You can unlock an poo regiment, a nigger one too.
It's actually pretty cool, I hope they had more regiments. It's not forced deep down your throat like with BFcuck1, so it's ok in my book.
btw the guy who made all the gore effects in the game is from huehue jungle.
