so is the patch out already or what?
a 7.7g patch dropped today so I'm assuming it's this one
Does poise work again?
I care just enough about DaS3 to come into this thread to tell you that I don't care
No but it protects more and weighs less
I like how they refer to players as ashen ones in every announcement. So cute
Did they ever make Miracles or Sorcery good outside of ultra-gimmick builds, or is it still only Quality or Pyro? Don't really have a desire to start up another run if that's the case.
So it's still hyperarmor shit then?
Ah, well I guess my Serpico will still be viable.
*build
Miracles are only good for healing co-op and sorcery is still fucked due to BB speeds but some spells have had their castings tweaked.
I'm still pretty positive in saying that magic is a self imposed challenge instead of a different build
What are these icons at the side of the bonfire destinations on the warp menu?
dumb fatcuck
Finally we might get some fucking build variety in this game
>poise fag
>is also a Berserk fag
Like pottery.
It shows that there are people you can co-op with or invade/duel with there
pepe I accidentally saved you to my fap folder, i'm sorry. Also maybe poise will finally be decent probably not though.
Why do people care so much about DaS1 style poise?
In DaS1 it was literally the "easy" difficulty in PvE and it lead to the shittiest PvP meta the series has ever seen
>Improved attack power for Curved Greatswords
>Decreased motion of normal attack while dashing for Katanas. Improved motion of any other normal attacks.
Isn't this going to just make r1 spammers even more powerful? Wtf from software...
What the fuck does "improved motion" mean
The motion is improved.
>Increased rate at which Frostbite builds up when using Vordt's Great Hammer, Irithyll Straight Sword, and Friede's Great Scythe
inb4 frost builds are op
the normal r1s for katanas were dogshit anyway. Next to no tracking. I'm glad to see they're nerfing straight swords and katana running attacks. Feels good to main valorheart
We quit the game a year or more ago.
Who the fuck is "we"
Okay faggots I'm gonna try a souls game... Where do I start.....
No.... Not bloodbourne I'm not a poor console fag.
...
people with taste.
I AM TOO DRUNK TO READ ALL THAT SHIT
HOW DID THEY BUFF ARMOR
Demon souls, go ahead and emulate it
Well
Literally just says "improved defenses reduced weight for heavy armor"
well fuck, now we wait for someone to test it all and say if its worth going heavy armor
because it allows retards to do mistakes and avoid punishment
Because people enjoy playing D&D as a lot of other classes than Rogues and Barbarians?
how about the first game? jfc, i mean why would you start a series without playing the first game...FIRST?! (and by first I mean dark souls 1, demons souls is kinda interesting but its not easy to get a hold of which is bullshit)
because it's how Dark Souls 1 was.
Its pretty godly in coop, but yeah there is zero reason to not just roll a pyromancer. Faith is zero fun.
>Added function where various hosts could be displayed on the bonfire warp menu.
What do they mean by this?
It lets people get away with making stupid mistakes and just going brain dead aggressive. The current hyperarmor scaling off poise mechanic works fine as is. It let's people that are fast enough to counter and stop you, but if you time shit right, you can just destroy people.
Maybe I'm biased though, the only UGS I use is the Lothric Knight Greatsword with Lightning Blade on my 60 faith build, so i get close to 1k AR with my buffs.
>...
>.....
>....
Where do you fags even come from?
>Will heavy armor builds be viable?
>Will miracle builds be viable?
So I guess my heavy armor/miracle build I've been using to destroy in PVP and PVE is the result of me being a god at video games, then?
Are instant chugs still in the game?
>Along with improving correction value for Sharp or Heavy weapons' upgrade, adjusted correction value for Refined weapons' upgrade.
Is a few extra defense points really going to make heavy weapon hit traders competitive with fast weapon infinite rollers?
Unless it actually hugely improves damage reduction, not at all. Armor is totally useless in DS3, to the point where the best "armor" mechanically is the Dragon Torso, because despite being the same defenses as being naked, it gives you an attack buff and a free wrath of gods.
Probably not. At best they might survive an extra hit
>spend all that time making the best fashion souls for under 30% equip load
>they go and make armour not shit
>have to cut corners for my fashion souls because knight-looking armor is heavy as fuck
>they go and make armor lighter
??????
"not shit" is a strong phrase. I'd prefer the term "less shit"
>is also a newfag
come on user, you're making this too easy
It's what I used my first playthrough, I had fun. Offensive miracles are complete ass though.
Nameless kings swordspear was really fun to use though
Is it just me or does the game just overall run better? on a toaster
>can't be parried
>can't be blocked
>nearly impossible to roll away from due to the massive lingering hit box
>can out range all other melee weps
>can stun lock stack multiple targets
>can be used as a disgustingly powerful no lock on wep
>drains stamina like nothing else when people try to block
>stupid fucking fast exit roll attack with massive range
>has dual scaling because it is considerd pyro
>because of of massive lingering hit box it works on shitter-net kids from brazil
Cons:
>can't preform finishers
(You just speed switch to +10 chaos caestus or demon fists for exicutes)
So why are you not whipping the shit out of kids?
im going to install the game on my shitty dual core laptop (again? i forgot if i tried it already once) and see if I can even get it to run on the lowest settings. Wish me luck.
I remember abusing those in pvp back when the game was first released and you could put on a offhand with the mana regen shit so you can literally keep using the special move that people NEVER figure out the animation for.
aw shit, if I can ever run das3 properly I will make a poison and bleed whip build (for pvp at least, for pve poison infused daggers and/or uchi's/katanas. And with this patch they increased the efficiency of poison weapons, or something like that.
The settings never affected anything for me. The game was, as far as I can tell, a huge CPU bottleneck. So if they've improved that, you might be good to go. Otherwise, I wouldn't hold your breath.
So is it worth it to level up STR past 40 now and use a heavy gem instead of just going 40/40 and putting a refined gem on an UGS?
>they patch in ds1 poise in the final dlc
no.
I hate people that started with DaS1 because they started with that crutch and want it back. NO it is never coming back.
>offensive miracles still garbage
I just want to play a holy knight smiting undead scum with the power of lightning.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind the DS1 poise mechanics, if the values were lowered. The system itself isn't inherently bad, the issue is how easy it was to make someone that could power through a half-dozen swings.
just run to a ledge and use force
Who plays this shit anymore it's 2017 lmao
>Shortened attack window of Carthus Curved Sword and Dark Sword, Gargoyle Flame Spear and Follower Sabre.
no...
no
no
no
NOOOO
NO.
WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME YOU ALREADY NERFED EVERYTHING
WHY DO YOU WANT NO DEX WEAPON TO BE GOOD
WHY DO YOU LISTEN TO THE FAGGOTS DEMANDING NERFS FOR EVERY DEX WEAPON
DIE DIE DIE
>cant even tank anything when wearing full tarkus armor
yea this makes sense
>why do you want no dex weapon to be good
>the best weapons for PVP are still Dex, and the vast majority of Dex weapons are perfectly viable in PvP
whatever
I like playing dex
I'm sick of finding a weapon then having it nerf-raped
we don't have any good DEX weapons anymore, carthus and follower already got nerfed months ago
but hey at least strengthkids will be able to ninjaflip in their full heavy armor and swing their fume ugs like a rapier :))))
fuck from and fuck this game. I'm out.
what does that mean exactly
shorter attack windows mean it attacks faster but you dont have that delay so you can bait parries right?
Thanks for telling us something that no one asked or cared about.
Are you braindead? All the curved swords are so good that they could deal literally 1 damage and you can still kill ultra weapon users without ever getting hit ONCE if you're good enough. Maybe now it won't be as easy after this change but I'm honestly not sure what the fuck the patch notes mean
>changed motion
You still get hard diminishing returns past 40 for most weapons. That said, the buff has resulted in pretty much every weapon I've checked having heavy reach the same damage as 40/40 refined but with fewer total stats.
For a generic example, a 40/40 refined Zwei has 550 AR one-handed. A heavy reaches the same one-handed AR at 52/12. Personally I'd say 16 fewer levels to do the same damage is really nice.
16 extra points to spend on something else is a pretty fucking big deal
Get Dark Souls 1 and Durante's DSFix on PC.
Then skip to Dark Souls 3 when you're done. After that you can stop until Demon's Souls is playable on RPCS3
>able to walk through every type of attack without even flinching
Yeah this makes a lot more sense.
>skipping DS2
No. Let him form his own opinion instead of spouting bullshit about that game like most people seem to do. Unless he doesn't like DS1 in which case I'd say he should skip the rest of the series.
What kind of knee jerk reaction is that? You can't tank in the game against any enemy, which is true. Nobody, not him or anyeone else has implied they want to be able to tank every hit in the game.
Did they fix the bland environments and lack of color too? No? Well nevermind.
I'm just trying to save him the disappointment. Even if he decides to check it out eventually on his own, he should go in knowing how disappointing it was so he doesn't think it's indicative of the rest of the series (and doesn't get as bummed out himself)
>Nobody, not him or anyeone else has implied they want to be able to tank every hit in the game.
That's exactly what DS1 poise allowed you to do. I'm down with improving armor in DS3 in general but bringing back DS1 poise would be a mistake.
Initially I had mixed feelings towards it but I ended up liking it a lot. Like I said he should have his own experience/opinion.
It might have been a disappointment for you, but it not might be for him. It wasn't for me, and I think it improved in many ways over the previous game.
>7gb to change a txt from off to on
this better was a preload for the DLC
And I'm sure some people like DMC2 or Mass Effect: Andromeda or Phantom Hourglass or Final Fantasy 13, but I still think you should warn someone going through the series the first time if you can that those games are widely regarded as the worst in the series and have significant problems to save them from over-expectation.
Sorry, Ds2 objectively sucks.
No shit sherlock.
Sure
if only there was some way to change the poise damage values for different enemies
>ctrl+f poise
>"POISE ISNT FIXED BUT ITS STILL ON WEAPONS DONT U WORRY SENPAI ;))"
awesome thanks back to any other souls game i go
If someone wants to play a series I say let them. I recommend all the souls games because they're fun. They all come with flaws and bugs and issues, but each and every one is worth a playthrough, easily.
I don't agree, I've never been able to finish DaS2. I've tried multiple times but always tap out around the 3rd or 4th boss since the controls feel like you're wading through mud with weapons made of foam and the enemy designs and layouts are so abysmal.
It's a shame too because the other 4 games are some of my favorite of all time and I've done multiple playthroughs of all of them. I'd love to have new souls levels to play but I just tap out after the 20th group of infinte-poise humanoids that agro in a group.
Great so now you can only poise through 90% of attacks.
The problem's with being able to casually walk through attacks, it shouldn't happen. It only promotes a brain-dead type of gameplay.
Now, you actually have to time your attacks to benefit from poise. Instead of just mindlessly walking up to enemies without much of a worry.
I do think heavy armor defense should be buffed, but DS1 poise is cancer.
Honestly why did they decide to take so long to put some obvious tweaks to refined/heavy/sharp? I liked this game and had a tons of fun with my Pyro and my STR/FTH Paladin but I will only try the new 'tweaked' PvP for like 2 hours before I remember I've already played 600 hours and I'm done with this game. I imagine many others will try it out but just move on after half an hour. Should've done this shit a month after release or in the first DLC patch.
In a whole lot of cases, Sharp or Heavy is way better now.
Heavy two-handed Exile Curved Greatsword does something like 690-something AR at 66 STR. They probably overbuffed that one.
What do people mean by "buffed armor?" Did it not protect the way its stats said it would in the first place? I always just dodged everything or blocked so I never really noticed a difference in armors.
Start-up is rounghly the same, the actual swing is a bit quicker.
Also mostly uses less stamina. If you're a quality build, need to double-check your numbers. You might be doing less damage now, and may need to switch to Heavy or Sharp.
>Brain dead gameplay
Are you implying souls combat is in any way complex? Being a tank is fun
>so I never really noticed a difference in armors.
Neither did the people using armor.
