I am an evil pirate

>I am an evil pirate
>I'll just STEAL this game from a company that spent MILLIONS on it!
>OH NO IT HAS DENUVO
>GUESS I'LL JUST HAVE TO BUY IT THEN

This is what corporate suits actually believe.
Is this a true to life scenario, Sup Forums?
Is video game piracy good or bad for the industry?

They still aint crackin automata right?

pirates are third worlders too poor to buy games

no it's more like
>I am an evil pirate
>I'll just STEAL this game from a company
>oh no it has denuvo
>guess I'll just wait and play something else
>6 months later
>oh hey it's cracked great

I don't know why people think pirates put tons of thought into the ideology behind getting free shit. They do it because it's free. There's no "OH NO I HAVE BEEN DEFEATED! NOW ACCORDING TO THE LAWS OF PIRACY I MUST BUY THE GAME/ENDLESSLY LAMENT MY POORFAGGOTNESS" they just move on.

Well, the CEO of Ubisoft claimed that PC gaming is 90% piracy. So obviously any game protected by Denuvo must be selling massively if the logic works.

>denuvo cost this company millions
>they need your support more than ever to break even guys!
kek

What are you even complaining about then?

>mfw I just pirated and installed Tales of Berseria

Are people really too poor to pay fifty bucks a month for the latest game?

>I wasn't going to buy it no matter what.
>Therefor you have no right to not allow me to steal it, you asshole.

>implying having Denuvo would make me buy a game

I would rather just wait for the crack, since I don't want that shit plaguing my computer, and besides, I can always play hundreds of other things either on the pc or the ps4.

it's not about the money, PC games obviously dump thousands upon thousands of dollars into their rig.

they believe they're entitled to these games simply because they're available to find on the internet.

>50 bucks
Man I wish.

Oh shit, an MS Paint comic! Those billion dollar companies sure do look stupid now!

>only buying one game per month
Who's the poorfag now?

>Buying games and not playing them

Being able to afford games is one thing. Being a wasteful bitch is another.

A lot of "piracy" is from old as fuck games.

>can't find Yuri's revenge or Lord of Destruction discs
>"steal" a copy of the game instead

I paid for that shit at full price years ago. I'm not buying a digital copy.

works on me

as long as the game is good

...

I don't know and I don't really give a shit tbqhwy

More like 150 bucks the last 6-7 years.

Thinking about it I haven't bought a full priced 50+ dollar game since Witcher 2.

I just wait until it's at least 50%(mostly 75%) off or buy it from a reseller site for coffee money.

Ain't easy being poorfag.

NAME THREE DENUVO GAMES THAT ARE NOT YET CRACKED

Denuvo only protects mostly bad games, and the ones worth playing get cracked. It's not a very good DRM in any way as its been cracked and bypassed multiple times, takes up more system resources unfairly (which effects the consumer NOT THE PIRATE) so no, no one really wins in the end, DRM has always been pointless. Pirates get what they want by being patient, consumers get hit by highly irritating bullshit, and the developers/publishers dont force blind sales because people aren't going to buy it anyway. infact, they may alternatively lose sales because those pirates who try before buying DO EXIST.

That said, I don't play most new games (Not buying, nor pirating) nowadays due to overall lack of interest so it's irrelevant to me. It's very rare for me to give a fuck about new releases, and all of the ones I did buy didn't have DRM so its w/e to me.

>not being a NEET playing vidya 24/7

The only time one can justify purchase is if it's under $10 will all DLC included. Things pirates hate pirating are games with a crap ton of disjointed DLC, story mode and version updates

Read the post again, user.

>can't play more than one game a month.

You're only digging the hole deeper, poorfag.

I could if I wanted to but I'd rather get it for free

I think Watch Dogs 2, Deus Ex: Newer Edition ain't been cracked.

And Nier is still going strong.

The strategy to get people to stop pirating over the last few years has been hilarious.
It went from.
>You're evil if you pirate games!
To
>Only losers pirates, cool guys who make $60,000 an hour at the big dick factory and have 4200 girlfriends buy their games!
Then it was.
>You can't pirate because denuvo exists.
And now since denuvo keeps getting cracked it's "You're a poor homeless guy if you pirate games instead of being a blind consumer."

There was also a period of time when shills tried to coin the phrase "anti-shill" like pointing out marketing and social engineering bullshit was somehow a bad thing.

Lol what happened to Nier getting cracked week one?

Funny how all the anti denuvofags just up and vanished.

And the best part?

All the while, piracy has been kicking along steadily. None of these tactics actually managed to do anything.

>mfw pirated berseria and dropped it after 30 minutes
Feels great man. Would buy with -75% discount

mankind divided is cracked

...

It's weird how it's mostly just games that make people angry about piracy. I'm sure most people who go "lel poorfags" pirate movies and music indiscriminately.

Guess the marketing machine has been doing pretty good in that area.

b-but it gets good 40 hours in

Really? another piracy thread? Isn't the other one still up?

Either way, piracy has always been good for the industry

I'm all for piracy. Steal all the shit you want. I don't care.

But don't pretend like it isn't theft. You're just trying to make yourself feel better when you do that.

Huh. I should give it a try one of these days.

>76 gb
Nevermind.

Being twelve is idolozing Jack Sparrow.

Growing up means liking the commodore and the Royal British Navy better.

There's more than that. Fifa, Total Warhammer, Nier, Mass Deffect and there's at least 5 more but i'm no google so fuck you.

>be me
>see discusting and immature behavior of PC gamers and especially PCMRetards
>don't want to suppport platform with such a shitty, immature and hypocrytical audience
>literally stopped buying games on PC
>havent bought a game on PC for like 2 years
>pirate and play everything on PC though because I want to play the best version
>buy console version instead so I have a legal copy and devs get my money

Pirates don't buy, that's the cold truth.

Growing up means liking a cuck?

this, I never justify myself pirating games, I know I'm taking shit I should be paying for but I'm not sitting on Sup Forums arguing about how much better I am than people actually buying the games, that's the mark of a faggot

A BUNCH OF FARMERS WORK DAY AND NIGHT TO PRODUCE FOOD ON A FARM

SUDDENLY, RESEARCHERS DISCOVER A WAY TO GENERATE FOOD OUT OF NOTHING

IS THIS OR IS THIS NOT FAIR TOWARDS THE FARMERS?

Honestly, this. Sparrow was a criminal.

Fuck you jacks my hero

only that really prevent me from pirating are the cheap cd keys

Actually pirates buy a lot, way more than non-pirates even.

In other words, normies buy Fifa and CoD and that's about it. Pirates are generally more interested in games(thus they pirate) so they generally buy more games, even if they also pirate more games.

Tell me more about how we steal the source code and the developers don't have access to it anymore.

Neet NEED to have what they want RIGHT NOW if they can't pirate they will buy

Clearly we must set the food on fire for the sake of the farmers.

Piracy can have similar effects of stealing, but they are different things. If they weren't there wouldn't be a need to define piracy under a different definition from theft. Piracy is not stealing, no matter how many PSAs they make saying otherwise.

>i know piracy is wrong but i do it anyway cuz fuck da police

How many of these threads are you going to make today

...

I'm guessing you don't know what a NEET is?

One of the biggest traits of being a NEET is not having money to throw around.

This is fucking great, now we can feed the world and there will be enough living space for everyone because we don't need farmland

yes, burgerboy. and also, why even spend those 50$ when i can get it for free/wait 'till it's on sale and buy it? i like free shit, and i like paying less than i have to, what's there not to understand?

A NEET that knows how to properly work the welfare system can have a fair amount of disposable income.

Gamers are probably the most gullible consumers. People here unironically preorder games or back them on Kickstarter. It's a community that actively wants to be shilled, as long as it means they can use it to shitpost about some other console or platform etc.

The game is only 40 hours long...

Nope, pirates don't buy, ever. Can attest.

ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0021/57441/deep-dive.pdf

it's okay user, we're patient.

Luckily I browse Sup Forums and am patient. So no, thats now true to life.

1. The only game I pirated and bought afterwards I regret immensely: Styx
2. The game I pirated and wanted to buy to play whenever and get the steam cheevos: Sherlock holmes crimes and punishments, I always break down and pirate because I missed the sales where it was the price I would buy it at; 10-15 dollars. I refuse to pay 25-30 for it.

Found the BR

>tfw I live in the supposed welfare capital of the world
>tfw it seems pretty hard to get welfare and you need to work fairly hard to keep getting it

I wish I lived in Finland.

...

original source?

>Spend thousands of hours pouring heart and soul into videogame
>Make best game ever
>Can't afford Denuvo because poor independent developer
>Try to sell game to be able to afford to live and to make up for the six years spent making the game
>Pirates steal game instead of buying it
>Can not afford to make new game

Shame on you, thieves.

Nope. Europe.

And that's not even factoring in the fact that you need to pay like 200 bucks these days to get a complete game with all the cut content DLC.

>this is what Sup Forumsirgins actually believe

i tend to buy shit when it's on sale after some time.

Actually the best way to fuck pirates is to inflate the game's size
I have no interest in pirating any AAA game released in the past year.I can't be arsed to download a 60 gigs game just to play it for 1 hour before i delete it
And this is coming from a guy that has 100 Mbps download and upload speed

Maybe not make a shit game next time.

Hard work doesn't equal fair pay. If anything it's the opposite.

You DID buy her game, didn't you, user? You wouldn't steal from an autistic girl, would you?

>pirate new Doom
>75 GB
>plus another 20 GB for patches

Fucking christ

I mean, i did opened up a steam account just to get Hitman when it first came out, but i made someone else buy it for me in exchange for 30 bundled shit games that cost me a buck, so it's a middle ground.

>This is what corporate suits actually believe.

Because that's actually exactly how that works.

Companies continue to use Denuvo, not because it's uncrackable, but because sales are higher before it's cracked than they would be if the game was piratable from the get-go.

The only way that would be possible is if at least some would-be pirates purchased the game because it wasn't available to pirate.

And I know that happens, because I've done it. I bought Nier for exactly that reason, and I don't regret a single penny spent.

Piracy it's like the ultimate form of quality control, to an extent I mean.

Obviously if someone isn't going to buy the game in the first place then they weren't really a customer to begin with.

But if a game is good people will buy it.
If they really wanted to end piracy they'd just make quality products but it's not like that's going to happen.

I pirate because I'm poor and live in a shithole. And games are too damn expensive here. My salary is something like 200-300$ per month, there's no fucking way I'm gonna spend quarter of it for one game. Steam has quite nice price policy sometimes though, 10-15$ releases are affordable.

Probably my fault to not being able to get smart and rich and get out of here but I think all those game developers live better than me and have much better jobs. So I hope they won't blame me that much.

It's also the best way to fuck with paying customers since it's usually even more bothersome for non-pirates since Steam has pretty shit servers and download options, and repacks are godsend for us with shitty internet.

>hiding a shit game behind memes
I hope this post is ironic. Only morons would give EA any money.

You steal from developers?
*unchinks katana*
Then I guess it's only right that I can steal your life

>Never pirated a single thing in my life
>Denuvo comes around
>Shreds your fucking SSD
>Have to avoid games with it
>Will have to pirate them once literal criminals remove Denuvo
>Will technically be committing a criminal act even though I'll buy the games
Great software, though, really. I'm sure the low sales for games with Denuvo are unrelted to Denuvo itself.

some online comic

I know that feeling,
I am a poor college student living on my own and video games just cost too much unless they are discounted heavily.
Plus most of the games I get I barely play at all.

Fuck it I bought Nier simpy because I want to support Taro. it's only $47 at GG.

>No pirate would ever purchase a video game, ever, if they weren't able to pirate it.
>I know this is true for every human on earth.

>I'll steal it
>NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW

>B-b-but pirates of the carribean told me pirates w-were good!

No, honey. That's not how it works in real life.

Or
>Dead Space 2 won't launch because EA fucked the activation servers.
>Have to get cracked copy
arrr matey

This, i didn't want to be born in a shithole, but here i am.
I get like $100 a month after paying college and living expenses. No fucking way i'm going to waste it into something i can get for free

>>I am an evil pirate
>>I'll just STEAL this game from a company that spent MILLIONS on marketing!
>>OH NO IT HAS DENUVO
>>GUESS I'LL JUST HAVE TO IGNORE IT THEN

I love how in USA a game costs 60$ but in a fucking shithole east-european country that same game costs 60 euros

I fucking love this picture. I want to be that Knight.

I don't even care if I'm protecting a grill from the masses, it could be a puppy or a convict for all I care. I just want to protect things. I will literally suck dick if it means protecting something.

What is my deal? I could never pinpoint this feeling until I saw this picture.

Are you saying you have never once listened to a song uploaded on youtube from a non-contracted affiliated uploader?
