What vidya did 00s kids (born 1995-1999) grow up on?
What vidya did 00s kids (born 1995-1999) grow up on?
I was born in '96 and I grew up on pc games like Diablo, HOMM3, Warcraft 3, Stronghold Crusader, among others. My first console was a PS1, first handheld a gameboy advance. Favorite PS1 game was crash team racing and favorite GBA game was either Pokemon Fire Red or Zelda Minish Cap.
However I have the most nostalgia for PS2 era games. Destroy all humans, kingdom hearts, bully, Sly 2.
Well considering every single one of you faggot kids are born in 1996, 1997, and 1998 or some shit, it shouldn't be that hard to figure out.
Remember when you would instantly get banned just for saying you were born in the 90s at all? Time being linear fucking sucks.
>Remember when you would instantly get banned just for saying you were born in the 90s at all? Time being linear fucking sucks.
Getting old isn't fun
Command and Conquer Red Alert 2, Generals and Battlefront on my PC.
Melee and Metroid Prime on my Gamecube.
R/S/E, Super Mario Bros 2 and Yoshi's Island on my GBA.
These when I was about 10. Before that I had PS1 with Crash, Spyro and whatnot. 95 by the way.
1997 here
My earliest memories where me playing Crash Bandicoot and Spyro Also that demo disc thing with that Will E. Coyote game and spiderman I also played a lot of Jrpgs and Pokemon.
96, first console was a gamecube but I really wanted to play GTA so I just played a game called True Crime.
I always saw Smash: Melee in the stores as a lad and thought it looked stupid. Eventually someone had bought it for me on a holiday and that was the first time I realized I was retarded and it was all downhill from there.
I don't understand what the picture is trying to say
95, thanks to being the youngest of three I had access to the snes, genesis, gameboy color and the ps1.
ps2 was the first new console I was around for, apologies for the heartattack oldfriends
what a bitter old cunt you are xD
Would I be considered a 90s baby if I was born in 1988?
97. kirby, got a lot of my brothers old stuff for his ps1 and ps2 eventually. ff7,crash bandicoot, digimon world, that spider man ps1 game,spyro,RE2 my actual first game that i played through by myself was turok 2 seeds of evil on pc
Time passing and people being younger than me is bad
1994 here but with a shred of perspective
I hate the circlejerks about birth years and "generations", the idea that "generations" are separated by the decades and not broad shifts in population
It's like the rivalry between two shitty little small towns that act all at each others' throats when they're almost literally identical.
Born in 94 IMO all millennials should stand together against Gen Z trash
Gen Z is based and conservative gramps
Kill everyone born before January 1, 1995
I'm also from 94 but millennials are an embarrassment to the human race on par with boomers.
I was born late 96 and I played all the pokemon games, melee, crash bandicoot, spyro, pikmin, mario party, kirby, and most other nintendo stuff. We had an N64 and PS1 when I was really young but most of my childhood was ps2 and gamecube.
le wrong generation ebin meme :^)
>on par
respectable opinion the far right and far left are just so...abhorrent
Generations strongly tie into ones self identity. This is due to various socio/political/economic/cultural differences between generations.
I mainly played Sonic and Crash and didn't get a Mario games until I got my Wii.
sorry that i dont want to be a complete faggot like most my age
91 here
kill me
I thought life would become better than this
First of 1998 here.
First game was pajama Sam from cereal boxes. Got a SNES with donkey Kong country, Duck Dodgers, super Mario land and The Tick. Rich uncle got me a ps2 in 2003 which I spent most of my childhood with. Played pretty much all ps2 essentials.
97, I grew up on SNES, PS1, PS2, GBA, and DS games, mainly Megaman, Zelda, Mario, and Kingdom Hearts.
>Pajama Sam
Oh shit I forgot about this. I remember being stuck in a jail cell with bon bons in it or something. And then there was a feris wheel or a carnival. I always had vague memories of it, but never could figure out what it was until I was older.
I think I was unclear
Generations definitely exist and matter, but the generational divide is NOT between people born in 1994 and 1995
It's between people who were born in maybe the mid-to-late-80's and the turn of the century.
"90's Kids" and "80's Kids" and "00's Kids" are not generations.
I remember playing Melee and MGS2 a lot
I've seen fake news sources like Vox say that millennials go all the way to 2000, but imo I'm 98 here and a lot of people my age I know are Trump supporters here in Illinois
My mom always helped me figure stuff out when I was younger. I go back to play them now and then.
You guys remember a game where you played a wizards mentee in a castle where you just went through rooms with all kinds of shit like piano stairs and some shit. Can't remember the name and it has been haunting me
you already made this thread so im just gonna repeat my comment:
fabolous is like 40 years old wtf
Gee, literal children fell for the meme, color me surprised
Where in Illinois, by the way
RTS games like red alert, warcraft 3, diablo etc
my dad downloaded a nes, snes, gameboy advance, and n64 emulator pack with all the games I would play since we were too poor for "modern" consoles
>What vidya did 00s kids (born 1995-1999) grow up on?
Don't know, I was born 1980 and grew up with C64, Amiga and PC.
Nu-Sup Forums is getting nostalgic about fucking PS2 games, which are just modern video games on shit hardware with clunky underdeveloped controls.
I was on my own for that shit. She did help me get Excalibur out of the stone in that fairly odd parents game. I couldn't mash to save my life. Man my mom is cool
I was born in 1995 but my third world country was permanently 5-10 years behind the rest of the world, so i grew up with mega drive, then a ps1 and game boy, and eventually a ps2.
I also played pc games. Duke 3d, warcraft 3, etc.
>That will e. Coyote gamr
My absolutely based nigga.
My mom would help me with vidya, but it was the other way around.
She would play in hard parts as she had better motor skills, but she never quite got vidya map design and objectives as i did, so i would give her instructions.
Fucko from good ol' '98 here.
My family didn't have a lot of money when I was growing up, so Animal Crossing and Pokemon are what come to mind. I don't have a huge list like some of you guys. I got more into Zelda and turn based RPGs as I entered my teen years, which actually technically aren't over yet I guess, ahaha.
Nah, I was born 88, we're 90s kids not 90s babies.
I have memories from 93 onwards so I had 7 years in the 90s.
Started gaming on an MS-DOS machine with jazz jackrabbit and DOOM, later I could afford a PS1 with crash bandicoot
>completely arbitrary years
If you grew up watching YouTube, you're part of the new generation.
If you grew up watching Flash animations, you're part of the generation beforehand.
>'96
At like 4/5 we got a PS1, had an MK game for my dad and the "Rugrats in Paris" game for me. That game was hot garbage but at the time I got mileage out of it.
Really liked the Atlantis movie and we ended up getting the game based on the movie. I got really stressed by the underwater parts so I got my dad to do those.
Later we moved, got Spyro at some point and dad got me a gameboy color at an auction. I was as a child of 6 years in love with Pokemon the show and it came with Gold so I begged my parents for it. Got a ton of mileage out of it even while the show hit third gen.
Things speed up from there after getting a PS2. Games I spent the most time on here probably Looney Tunes Space Race and Battle for Bikini Bottom.
Got a DS early, not much but Mario Kart on there but good for later.
Got that gamecube with shadow Lugia on it that came with Gale of Darkness. Got plenty out of that but far more out of playing Melee with my younger siblings.
Got Pokemon Diamond virtually on release. Met friends who like pokemon shortly after and felt validated. One was really into Kingdom Hearts and I borrowed his copy for a time because he got 2. He got in some trouble and sent to live at his uncle's so I still have it.
Got a wii, spent time on Twilight Princess and especially Smash Brothers brawl.
Eventually just ended up playing mostly WoW on a friend's recommendation in High School.
Also Runescape spread from fourth grade onwards, tapering off.
Jak and Daxter, Destroy All Humans and Tony Hawk were my jam
I grew up with both
Anecdotal, but for those born around 1998-1999 I start to notice a shift to conservatism and post-irony, a contrast to the "check your privilege shitlord" cohort of 1995-1998
Enjoy supporting a fat baby boomer corporatist who will send you off to a war in Iran
Born in 95.
>SNES, N64, and the Gameboy Color
2000-2009
PS1, PS2 (literal years playing this shit), GameCube, and Gameboy Handhelds
2009-2013? (when PS4 launched)
>PS3
2013 to now
>PS4, Vita, PC
I'd say 2000-2013 were the epitome of my vidya enjoyment. I miss that time of my life. I wanna go back bros.
they're actually still mostly liberal. they're just the highest percentage of conservative youths since WW2.
>they're just the highest percentage of conservative youths since WW2.
Yes, according to a study conducted by an advertising agency with only 1000 participants.
Since 1000 teens are conservative, that must mean the ENTIRE generation of 60 million teens must be conservative as well.
>Sup Forums logic
Good PS1 games, spyro, rayman, ape escape, gran turismo etc
Quake 3 Arena
87 kid, best timeline. Prove me wrong.
Best games
Best tv
Best movies
Wrong, 97 is best timeline
We had a perfect mix of old-world and new-world shit
>wanting to be a degenerate millennial
off yer selfs
98
Pretty much the whole Gamecube library, then I had the Wii and then pretty much the Wii library.
Looking back growing in the 2000s wasn't that bad.
>doesn't know how study samples work.
American education
1998
I played a lot of runescape and world of warcraft. On console i played pokemon fire red, emerald, and pearl, smash bros melee, twilight princess. Then when i was a bit older i played games like halo reach, mw2, and left 4 dead.
87 master race reporting in.
Gaming died in 2007. This is fact
>Gaming died in 2007.
1997
1980-1994 is classified as degenerate SJW Millennials
