Retropie does it better

>Still being sold for nearly 3x retail price on eBay

>hasn't been in stock in any brick & mortar store for nearly 2 months

>any online retailer that sells them, sells out in SECONDS

What the heck did you mean by that?

I'm just waiting for the re-release of the n64 tbqh

>hasn't been in stock in any brick & mortar store for nearly 2 months
because they stopped making more
cant take money from the coming e-shop

I download my retro games on Emuparadise for free

So does everyone that isn't a mentally retarded Nintendo bootlicker.

these may be true but you can add games now. GB-GBC-NES-SNES-GBA-PS1-MAME-N64-GENESIS-Saturn-Turbographix16 games work on this piece of shit now. They're going for $250 on eBay modded.

Nintendo should just discontinue them and focus on the switch but they vastly underestimated the demand for this thing.

You don't understand much about marketing, do you OP?

Because the only people this appeals to are 35-40 year olds looking for some nostalgia.

I think a SNES version would be a bigger deal

wont happen
they want the e-shop to actually sell stuff

I understand Nintendo mustn't have much faith in their audience's intelligence if they're selling them games that have been free for decades.

You don't seem to have much intelligence, if you can't understand why people would buy this outside "Muh Nintendo".

That's probably the reason yeah. The Raspberry is cheaper, always available, has more games and is super easy to set up so even people with very little technical knowledge can do it. It's also smaller and weighs less. There's literally no reason to buy the NES Classic other than that you're to lazy to set up a pie.

Nobody likes crusty old Dad games.

>vastly underestimated the demand for this thing

When will this company get into the 21st century, its honestly maddening how wrong and archaic they are time after time with this shit. Sometimes I almost think they really don't even deserve the treasure trove of IP's they're sitting on.

Would /vee/ buy a mini snes?

spoken like true gen-x shitters

They already have plans to send out the SNES mini tho. It's only a matter of time famalam.

I've been trying to get CPS2 games to work on my Retropie but for the emulator they work with I can't map controls for.

I think most, if not all, the people buying the NES Classic are physicalfags who thinks it´s cool to have on your shelf

>Sup Forums unironically defended it because "IT JUST WORKS" or "KEK I'M NOT A HACKING NERD LIKE YOU TO CONFIG EMULATORS LOL"

If it had more games in it I'd get it.

source: ?

silly goose don't pretend they didn't purposefully make less than they should have to drive up demand. They've been doing this for years

Nintendo abandoned it because it was just a marketing stunt to get attention before the Switch launch. They will never manufacture it again because it's childsplay to load it up with a complete NES romset, and Nintendo wants people to pay $5 a month to borrow a ROM for 30 days with their shitty online service.

I managed to get one a few weeks ago and modded it. It's great, I love it, playing No Mercy on it now.

How do you get that set up?

>don't pretend they didn't purposefully make less than they should have
correct
>to drive up demand.
incorrect

the people that dictate how much stock is produced get FAT bonuses for all units being sold
that is all it is, and that is all it ever has been

they got the patent and apparently they're working on it for a release this year

>because they stopped making more
This is funny because Nintendo claims that they are still producing more. I never even understood why Nintendo made the thing when it cuts into their own e-shop sales. The instant Nintendo officially discontinues the mini nes, I think the scalpers are going to go full turbo jew. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted something like $400 per unit.

I mean. It sounds convincing but I don't know enough about that shit to argue either way. So you win.

>Retro console that is just a emulator in a nice box have existed for awhile now
>Sega, Atari,Neogeo, Collecovision and Intellivision all have these things floating around stores
>Nintendo makes one
>Just a novelty for nostalgic people who can't into computer
>Everyone loses their shit for some reason

Hack, load with SNES PS1 N64 emulators

Maybe if it was an actual product you could buy I might have fucking bought it by now. Nintendo is still trying to figure that part out, however. They only just recently started learning with the Switch that people don't buy things that don't exist.

I mean those young kids these days with their myface and the youtubes don't care about atari, collecovision and intellivision. They want the stuff they were nostalgic for. And that neogeo re-release was kind of a fucking disaster

Then why the FUCK don't they make these things be the e-shop? Access the e-shop through the retro consoles and buy all the games you want for them. It's fuckin simple but they're a cancer company who hasn't done anything right in years.

lol, snes was better

epic

Why did Nintendo stop making these? I know they're known for artificial scarcity but only making a limited supply is a pretty weird business move.

Normie here. I've never heard of the retropie. No clue what it is.

I wanted a neogeo one, but the price they were asking was fucking retarded. It cost as much as a PS3.

>They only just recently started learning with the Switch that people don't buy things that don't exist

kek

This was a case of them misunderstanding the market, at least if you believe their own explanation. They thought the audience would only be nostalgic middle-aged dudes when in reality the much larger interested market of young hispters bought it out.

>tfw drones were fucking convinced this wasn't just going to be a fad

The NES is far more iconic. That shouldn't be hard to figure out.

It was fun for awhile but I got fucked over too many times by the app when I came across rare Pokemon. It either froze or couldn't figure out a GPS signal.

>buying any emulator

>literally all major electronic stores have them in store

The fuck are you on about being out of stock.

I'll get the mini n64
Already downloaded the full library. All I have to do now is wait

Literally, every normie friend I have who didn't get one is scrambling too.

dis nigga knows what's up. I don't know what magic voodoo nintendo does with their n64 emulation but it's top notch

>literally all major electronic stores have them in store
bullshit

they even stopped making the controllers
ninty is literally that retarded

false scarcity only works when eventually sell them, though.

I've been looking for months. If it was for sale I would have it. It's shown up randomly in various disticts of Amazon's local Prime Now service only for a few minutes at a time and never near me.
