Why do these two consoles feel so similar to me? There is not much inherently the same about them, but I still get strong GameCube vibes from the switch
Anyone else feel this way?

Because you're autistically clinging to things from your childhood and you have to define everything in the context of things from that time period. Get some help.
>Projecting your weird problems on people
It's just because it's the first Nintendo console since the GameCube to have a traditional controller
Yes, bc this is in fact Nintendo's most traditional console since the gamecube. It's not gimmick-focused like the wii and wii u was was, rather it's something more convential and some of the games like BOTW and mario odyessey are being targeted towards more to core gamers. The game for core gamers seems to be the switch's system sellers, as appose to the wii and wii u's sellers were casual friendly games.
Sorry son, you seem to have the tism.
Well, both systems have the same graphics capabilitys so there's that.
Not really, in terms of color and overall look nothing in the Gamecube looked as unfinished as BotW. It all looks so faded.
>autistically clinging to things from your childhood
oh shit thats me
>nothing in the Gamecube looked as unfinished as BotW
wind waker, which is legit unfinished
both were trying something different for there generation.
it will probably sell similarly or or higher and be a cult hit leading the way for Nintendos big comeback next generation
>Yes, bc this is in fact Nintendo's most traditional console since the gamecube. It's not gimmick-focused like the wii and wii u was was
Wrong. The Wii U was explicitly Gamecube 2.0. Nintendo's philosophy with that console was to abandon the casual audience of the Wii (which still retaining the Wii branding in order to "trick" casuals into buying it) but in order to regain the more "hardcore" Gamecube audience.
You can even see with the Wii U controller it was purely an attempt to revive the GBA second-screen connectivity from Gamecube which never took off.
I was just teasing, point is BotW looks really unappealing visually. I don't understand this given that Nintendo is by far the most thorough developer when it comes to that. All of it looks pale green.
Did they have so few games during the GC's launch? I don't remember how it was.
Either way, the Game Cube had a terrible library. All it had were a handful of Nintendo games, an RPG or two, and the rest is garbage shovelware. I couldn't even collect for it right now if I wanted to, because it's the most expensive system to collect for.
The Wii and Wii-U didn't have much either, so what makes people think this system will? Because all I see are a bunch of ports, and that's not a library, that's just filler. Sure you can have that same shitty, broken mess of a Bethesda game as a portable now, but when you've already played it on every 7th/8th gen system and on PC, who gives a shit anymore?
Is that why every single commercial was nothing but families and sperglord kids?
maybe they feel similar because the graphical fidelity is the same. nintendo will milk you drones dry, i bet their next console will be weaker then xbone
I wish the Switch was more like the GC in terms of UI design. Everything's so lifeless and dead. Where's the chill ambient BGM?
nigger are you colorblind or something
This is the 3rd time you've made this thread.
Give it rest, autismo.
>Search the Sup Forums archive so I can shitpost alongside you
>You were wrong
C'mon man
>nigger are you colorblind or something
literally everything has a green tint, even reddish looking backgrounds have an orange-like tint because of that green influence, it's disgusting, not to mention it looks like Silent Hill with all that fog and lack of long range resolution
Nintendo has always had a 1-2 Punch strategy when it comes to their consoles, in which they focus on implementing unique additions that end up laying the landscape for video games and how we interact with them.
The FamiCom acted as an introduction to home game consoles. Arcades existed, but Nintendo helped sell the idea of having video games in your house. The Super FamiCom built on what the original delivered, offering higher quality visuals and sound, as well as additional face buttons for the controller.
The N64 introduced 3D visuals, literally adding a new dimension to games that brought about an alluring sense of immersion and depth. The GameCube improved the quality of graphics offerings significantly (remember seeing melee for the first time?) and is basically an N64 2.0.
With the Wii, motion control was sold and bought with unprecedented demand and interest, though it was honestly a simple gimmick more than anything, save for the few FPSes that are amazing to play with the Wii remote. The Wii U had games that actually made good use of the gyroscope, and with the GamePad also planted the seed for what is now the Switch.
They are offering a home console experience that is not limited to your home, but rather gives you the incentive to take it with you wherever you go and play outside your comfort zone. What's different with this console from its two predecessors is the focus. With the Wii and The Wii U, a lot of attention is drawn to the control methods, i.e. the Remote and Tablet. A majority of the games, in my opinion, were mostly "interesting" more than anything else due to the controllers and how that affected your play experience. It felt though like the focus of the developers (primarily Nintendo) was split between trying to do something fun with the controller and actually developing a fun game. (Cont.)
>Is that why every single commercial was nothing but families and sperglord kids?
Because they did exactly the same thing with the Gamecube except with fewer families and more sperglord kids.
Also all advertising is aimed at casuals, whether the product is actually for casuals or not.
So why are you on here complaining about it? If you don't like it, don't buy it, don't play it, just enjoy what you do like and be excited for whatever new releases are coming that you do like. You make it seem like this game is being force fed to you.
When you really think about it, the Gamecube was a system primary owned by asspies and autists. I'm still doing my research, but from what I can gather, the early to mid 2000's saw a great influx of children with Aspergers and High Functioning Autism, and I don't know why.
(Cont.) With the Switch, I see the focus as primarily developing console games that you can play anywhere, while new game experiences via the controller (hd rumble, 1/2 Switch) seem to take a backseat. I'm still skeptical as to how much of the new system's potential Nintendo themselves will actually fulfill, but with the Wii U being Nintendo's first entry into HD resolution, I can see the Switch as offering a robust collection of games that gives the kind of feeling the GameCube gave, BotW and the upcoming 3D Mario game seem to testify to this. And if GameCube virtual console is really happening, it'll just add to that feeling.
wew I guess discussing things are off limits now. I was extremely hyped for this game but you're right I'm probably not buying a Switch for it. I'm sorry if I criticized the game.
something something something autism.
>Why do these two consoles feel so similar to me?
Feeling they are "similar" is not the same as having any evidence that they are similar
>tradition controller
or the closest thing we're gonna get to one from nintendo
seriously? it's sad that these are what pass as a traditional console from the big N these days. nintendo needs to quit pandering to casuals with gimmicks and make a real console
