What went so damn right?
What went so damn right?
Ethan looks like Tony Hawk
>The house
10/10
>Everything else
Weak
It stopped following the plot and mechanics from the past games.
why is that guy to the right there?
wasn't he dead?
I thought it was really good 8/10. It would have been 10/10 for me if they didn't put the creepy girl in the story, that was quite a lame thing to do.
literally nothing
name one creative thing capcom did that didn't rip off already existing franchises
Modern day Resident Evil 1 with memorable characters.
nothing
Atmosphere
Jack
The main house
Everything else went wrong.
If it's Clancy then he dies later, in the happy birthday room.
This. I had a blast with the game but as soon jack died it took a turn for the worst. The swamp house was alright but couldn't match up to the main house. The rest was utter garbage.
The game could have easily been my goty if it still took place in the main house with Jack serving as nemesis hunting you down.
>You must be completely original to be good.
Yeah fuck off
They made a generic first person horror game, added guns, and then made one decent character and had him around for the majority of the game.
WOWOW GOAT BROS LOL
Nitpicking here, but how did the parents not detect a dead boy in the attic? It's a big house, but the smell is pretty distinct. I hope Chris boulder punches this asshole in the dlc.
I haven't finished it yet but I'm a fan big of Texas Chainsaw and Evil Dead so I'm enjoying what they're going for.
Why is this game so quotable?
>YOU BETTER START RUNNING BOI!
The combat was a good balance of the classic gameplay but updated to be more fun. The puzzles and collecting felt right and the atmosphere was neat.
The downsides are the bosses all suck except one and the complete lack of enemy variety. Considering there are only three enemies in the entire game (Molded, bugs, Fast Molded) they could have done more.
He is, it's a prequel.
They didn't care because they were already under Evie's control.
I think a lot of killers in real life who hide bodies in there houses use some kind of air-conditioner or fragrances to mask the rotten smell.
ZOE
GITCHO ASS BACK TO THE HOUSE
I WILL DEAL WITH YOU LATER
That was the only good boss fight in the entire game.
RE1 had:
2 Character campaigns, each with a True Ending and a Good ending: resulting in 4 ways to play the game.
RE7 had
1 character campaign with a minor choice at the end that doesn't change the ending at all
>Modern day RE1
Nah
they based the game on
>narrative
>awesome characters like Jack or Pete
>awesome graphics
>backtracking that leads to scares
>literally perfect PC port
>the VHS tapes mechanic is pretty cool
there is also flaws:
>ship and onwards becomes COD
>Jack and Margarite should not die that early in the game
>3rd form Jack is garbage
>the demo leaks destroyed the hype, and the sewer gators tape should not have been shipped with the demo
>normal mode is too easy
other than these, I have to say I am pretty impressed, as I really enjoyed the game
I particularly don't care about franchises lore or heritage, but I understand old fans can be pissed about it
>the bosses all suck
No way son ever boss encounter with Jack was top fucking notch. and Marguerite's boss fight is honestly one the scariest boss fights in the whole series.
I do agree that the final boss sucked ass though which was such a shame after all the great build up.
How about you read the rest of my god damn sentence before you quote me? You know what, forget it. Don't ever fucking respond to me again.
Is Clancy the most tortured character in gaming?
Jack's 55th birthday
>Hear people talk about how hard Survival + is in 21
>Finally download it to try it out
>Beat it in one go
It's the easiest fucking card game of all time.
Why are you forgetting Madhouse which completely changes up the main game with its enemy's item placements and boss fights?
madhouse should be available from the get go
Oh sorry I quoted you wrong.
Yeah I know you said one was good but besides the last boss I thought every boss was great.
Oh so two ways to play compared to RE1's 4.
Still makes it half the game RE1 was.
#NotMyRedfield
Jack's final form is good, Marg is just ok and kind of boring, the Pit Fight is just a QTE fest.
But then again RE has rarely been known for good boss fights so it doesn't bother me that much.
Its on sale now, worth it anons?
not really canon to series just a alternative take on it.
It's canon. They place it in the timeline by mentioning the Racoon City Incident.
My favorite part is the ship part.
The only dissapointing part of the game is the Quarry but by that time it would have dragged on for too long. They should have replaced the Quarry with a bigger lab section with more molded to fight
Yes if you at all like horror and RE then you need to play it.
Also if you by chance have VR this its a must buy and pretty much the only good game for VR.
The ship was a slog. I'd cut the ship section in half, and replace half of it and the quarry with an actual swamp section. The quarry felt forced and didn't fit in, but navigating a creep swamp with little shacks and shit here or there could be really cool.
Capcom did what they were good at and known for instead of trying to cater to everybody.
>the pit
>a QTE
>when there's no QTE
You just have to shoot here, its not a Quick Time Event because you dont have to do it Quick
Playing in VR was what finally justified that stupid fucking purchase for me.
>Clancy
>dead
lmao
they catered to the youtube let's player spooky game demographic
I've only played it in VR and I can't imagine playing it any other way. It's actually immersive and smooth as hell.
You cant make a horror game anymore without it getting called youtube bait.
If youtube existed back when RE2 existed you don't think LPs wouldn't play it?
Not much, it wasn't very entertaining. I forced myself to complete it, took me over a month because I would just avoid playing the fucking thing. Still feel burned if i'm honest, fucking listened to Sup Forums's praise of the thing. I traded it in for almost $30 after I was done with it, which makes it sting more.
FPS-style didn't do it for me, the plot was "who the fuck cares + recognize these classic horror tropes?", and the characters were just as forgettable as the rest of the game. I remember what they look like, pretty much, but not much else.
>it's another REVII circlejerk thread
No, because theres like 2 jump scares in the entire game
Fuck off and die, corporate drone.
The game was dogshit.
>Stop liking thing
Sorry RE6 baby.
You're free to each as much shit as you like. Just don't try to convince others it's good.
>YOU MUST HATE EVERYTHING. NO FREE WILL. ALL GAMES SUCK ALL GAMES SUCK! THIS IS THE WAY OF Sup Forums!
>You don't like VII, therefore you must be a fan of 6!
It never gets old for you, does it? Drink bleach.
It was just straightup fun. My main complaint with the game is the salt mines, I liked the rush up the upwards spiral at the end salt mines but I wished there was like more exploration to the mines or maybe a puzzle in there or something. I'd give the game a 9.5/10.
Fuck off, reddit. Your game is shit.
>I-I'm not a RE6 baby..I swear....
isnt that sweet boy clancy
>this is the main argument VII fags use
Absolutely pathetic.
Now that the dust has settled, is Sheva the most attractive female in the series?
Yes. I wish she would get her own game.
Anyone else think Mia from the beginning was the scariest thing in the game?
When wearing that outfit, yes
i havent playe this game yet but thought it was good
She was pretty scary.
I think it would of been cool if she kept showing up but she could randomly go nuts and try to kill you.
Would of made her encounters unpredictable and scary.
I love how Ethan just starts screaming here as he shoots. I think I would have done the same thing
They didn't try to make it RE6-2
The few characters we get (particularly Jack) are entertaining
The big bad isn't the usual evil "Imma infect the entire world!" mastermind we've been getting
Most of the boss fights are fun (Last one is kinda weak though)
There's a decent selection of weapons by the end without it getting too overboard
>tfw no incentive to play through it again
It's kinda boring the second time around
I'd scream at such a terrible boss, too.
everything
>would of
>would of
it's would've
Babadok always right
*would'f
Reminder that Mia did nothing wrong and is the best girl
Best start of a horror game ever
I understand people complaining that the start is a railroad but boy i just enjoy that ride
It's either this or the waifu circlejerk in the "RE-just-not-RE7 thread" which got old like 7 years ago. I'd rather talk about something new.
>IT SHIT REEEEE!
keep crying bitch nigga...you are still wrong
>literally no points, just "nuh uh"
In terms of VR experience:
Guest house - 7/10
Main house - 10/10
Old house - 10/10
Kids bedroom / return to main house - 8/10
Testing area - 6/10
Boathouse - 5/10
Derelict ship - 9/10
Swamp/salt mine - 9/10
Return to guest house - 6/10
Overall this was a sexy fucking game to kick off VR with.
just like you
>No points just *Autistic Screeching*
Kek you are not tired of being wrong?
I've listed the game's faults many times in these threads. You fags admit to one or two of them and just plug your ears to the rest. Fuck off.
The only part of that beginning I hate is when you replay through it. It's like the trains section opening for half life. Entertaining and immersive the first time, but it just slows you down when you try and replay it.
>licker on second floor ceiling window
>licker in interrogation room
>Mr. X coming through wall
>Mr. X coming through the wall again in the hallway right outside
>zombie arms coming through the windows
There was more than 2. There was like one or two instances of lickers dropping out of nowhere above, too. Probably stuff I'm forgetting. RE3 had even more than this.
They catered to them, but also to people who started the series with RE1 and wanted to experience being in that setting. Some of the hallways and rooms in the main house in VR are so creepily designed and capture the mood that RE1 had very, very well.
And way more people listed the good things...that you tend to ignore...and who liked the game admits its has flaws...and yet you cant admit the game have good things.
Its well know fact that e-celebs and critics opinions dont matter...but when a good part of Sup Forums praises a game you know the game did something right
And you plug your ears to any praise people give to this game. And that plain bullshit
Yeah i can agree...but again i love it...maybe because i really like Ethan and Mia in this game
Just ignore RE7 fags/thread. It's just a blind circlejerk with people plugging their eyes at any sort of criticism. I fucked praise the game and said it's a good game to play at least once; but as soon as I criticize the lack of replay value the everyone just starts sperging out and throwing a tantrum as if I insulted them
according to what standard? some random edgy teenager? lol
>people plugging their eyes
eheh
But all RE7 fans admit to its flaws but defend the stuff they like.
Why do you act like this is something only RE fans do?
I love the Revelations games and RE7 feels like a glorified Revelations 3, only this time it goes whole hog on the whole "return to classic form" angle that the first 2 tiptoed around. I don't think it's perfect but it's about as good of an RE game as I could realistically expect in 2017 and I'm glad it panned out that way. Hopefully it paves the way for a renewed emphasis on survival horror for the series.
>samefaging
sad
this... guess he is just a shitposter
>samefag retard
Okay
Next time you samefag at least change a little your way to speak, soo it wont get too obvious
