Regardless of the fact that this series ran out of steam 10 games ago. What could developers do in the next game to get you playing again?

Make it world war 2 like it supposed to be, or at least Vietnam

Not Shitskin Arab war #125135315 or Super Duper Sci Fi shit #154135315

This and more realistic mechanics. Destructible enviroments like RSS

go back to simple load outs

>WWII game #999999999

Go back to the early 00s when CoD, Battlefield and Medal of Honor weren't quite tiresome yet and all did different things
CoD for single player, Battlefield for multi player and MoH so consoles get a good taste of both
Somewhere along the line, they all became the same homogenized trash

Yeah so instead of making a lot of WW2 games, which is unarguably the most iconic and unique war ever and stands alone as that type of war, lets instead make EVEN MORE shit tons of generic drab Arab war shit that is not unique or influential in any way AND ruins the game paly naturally by adding weaponry that is OP as fuck and stupid nuke, drone, cruise missile kill streaks

OR lets make a metric shit ton of Halo clones for the Halokiddes so they can super jump around like fags and shoot green kool aid bolts at each others spess sheelds

Modern Warfare >>> WWII

>kool aid bolts

XD

Yeah and how old are you?

why, so you can ad-hominem your way into a fleeting moment of internet superiority?

You answered the question well enough thanks

lol

What's with this single autist making Call of Duty threads?

What does Sup Forums think about it being in vietnam? Could be good. So long as they focus on making guns and gear fit the time and making you play as just a member of a unit and not just some special forces action hero secret agent.

Also really hoping they tone down all the crazy in multiplayer and just simplify it.

nice!

I still want to play the IW campaign. They already did everything right.

I've played every one and the future shit is tolerable but it's time for it to go and they clearly understand that.

AW had a pretty awesome single player campaign but yeah, they'll probably be skipping AW2 and going for a Vietnam game.

Hopefully the next treyarch game has WaW Remastered and they don't nickel and dime us for the Zombie DLC like the degenerates they are.

With the way they butchered WW1 for modern audiences sensibilities I can only image the liberty they will take with a unpopular war like Vietnam

I wouldn't even be surprised if its in the perspective of the poor freedom fighting gooks killing imperialist white piggus

We will NEVER see the actual Vietnam war game WE would LIKE to play

You know what I mean

Black Ops had really cool Vietnam sections.

They did fine with Black Ops though.

If Treyarch does it then yeah I have some hope it will be faithful to the truth

Some, well see though its been 7 years since black ops and a lot has changed since then. That DICE abortion of a WW1 game would have never happened seven years ago

And that's what I mean by. I'd rather be a part of a unit not some secret agent with access to wacky gadgets and tech. Just give me a gun accurate to the war and send me in with a normal squad. I don't wanna be a secret agent looking for some fucking chemical weapon in some underground lab.

tfw there will never be an fps as good as bf1942 ever again

Yeah exactly

I seriously doubt well be getting sweet LZ drop maps with helis or cool Cu Chi tunnel maps or Sweet trench and bunker hilltop maps or some fucking Hue City street fighting maps

>he never played Vietcong

I have but I'm not sure what your point is?

For the multiplayer.
Focus less on being "competitive" and focus more on party game modes
Server browser for official servers
Cross platform play.
Proper PC port.
Stop using RNG recoil

And most importantly of all :
Stop focusing too much on being a grind/ loot based game.

On a recent cod like bo3 it seems like most players at this point are only playing just to complete whatever contract/challenge/prestige for a stupid reward. They don't really seem to enjoy the game, until they get their loot(camos, guns, levels, ect)
I just went back to Bo2(not a very loot heavy cod) and realized a huge difference in the players, they were much more social and seemed to actually enjoy the game. They actually played the objective even without any loot reward.
Keep in mind that this is on PC and i dont know how it is on consoles.

It's a good Vietnam War game because it doesn't take Platoon seriously.

Stop bringing one out every year so that they die off as everybody migrates to the next one.

it's the same on PS3

CoD used to be for fun before micro transactions

I feel like playing the first Call of Duty. Can you strafe jump in it?

No, but it's a fun mish-mash of war movies. It's enjoyable enough but is desperately showing its age

Make it extremely edgy.

Basically AAA HATRED.

Go back to modern day times with currently existing guns. I'm tired of WWII and was never interested in futuristic sci fi for CoD.

>Go back to modern day times with currently existing guns
What for though?

Modern Warfare, MW2 and MW3 still exist and are playable

Call of Duty 40k.

Elysian troopers dropping into a battlefield, fighting around the moving legs of titans battling each other, playing a cadian whiteshield storming breaches, missions as an Inquisitorial stormtrooper fighting a cult base overrun by daemons, a tank segment where you control a baneblade etc

The setting is absolutely perfect for a michael bay mw2 style campaign.

Increase the time to kill, generally. Blops2 was well received because of its relatively high fight times, whether it was intentional or not. A lot of the newer experiments in movement systems of the later games would have worked even better with higher health pools.

It's even just a one-variable change; alter health from 100 to 200. The rest of the development work falls into place from there.

>Increase the time to kill

I would say decrease

What makes battlefield superior in my opinion to cod is the more realistic approach. You can actually kill people with a pistol.

>Remove perks and killstreaks. Add cool movement options without going full futuristic.
>Balanced weapons
>Mod support

WW2 in games was the worst trend of the 2000s, hopefully it'll never return.

Yeah and futurism is (one of) the worst trends of the 2010s.

I'd be happy with a return to the WW2 era.

Can we stop pretending like the good settings are just WWII and modern warfare?

Roman warfare?

>Brutal deaths. If you die to something messy, I want to see the bodie not merely falling down like most modern shooters.
>Co-op like the one from MW2.
>A campaing where we are playing as someone who is not the usual USA hero. I would like frenchs or latins.
>I would like a villian who is not one dimensional like Ghosts.
>Or something were you are just another soldier in a big war like OG CoD.

>more realistic approach
>You can actually kill people with a pistol.
Excuse me?

When up against people in armor, which is what all characters are assumed to be in modern military shooters, pistols should be peashooters for backup only. And even then I don't get what you're talking about when there are often several secondaries in COD games that are just as good as primaries in close quarters, how did this even get reversed in your mind?

I will add that one thing the BF series and other copycats like Planetside 2 have over COD is that their weapons are projectile based and not hitscan. It makes a world of difference for skill in aiming at moving targets, which again would have complemented the jetpack movement systems of the past few CODs.

Alternate history WW2 would be nice though. A mainline campaign set in the Nazi Zombie universe could be more interesting than simply going to Vietnam or Korea.

Make a WW2 game where you play as the Germans. Or anything Axis, really.

>Alternate history WW2 would be nice though.
Quite literally Wolfenstein

Feet on the ground combat, no more pseduo-future jetpack bullshit. Modern or historical setting works for me, just no future.
Some kind of overhaul to the general flow and playstyle, like larger maps with objectives and vehicles done on a somewhat small and arcadey scale rather than trying to be another Battlefield.
