0 is a prequel, so you won't have to worry about missing anything important to the plot, just a few references.

Yeah, they're good.
Gameplay is simple and easy to pick up, but still pretty satisfying and fun.
Story is kinda fucking crazy some games, but it's enjoyable.

It's an entertaining series that will definitely keep you busy for hours.

Can't mod weapons yet.
Multiplayer is good just like ME3's multiplayer.
Need to get used to being able to send out strike teams using my phone.

So, which is it? Do ports and multiplats count or don't they? Because every fucking anti-Nintendo thread shits on the Switch for having them.

Definitely play 1 and 3. The first game is incredibly repetitive but it's a great experience, just use a guide so you can get all the weapons right away to make it less painful. The third is the best game in the DoD series gameplay wise and while it is a great experience as well, the final boss of D route may make you destroy anything within arms reach since it's a rhythm game with that has invisible notes and you can't miss once

Avoid 2 at all costs unless you wind up really liking Caim and think he could save a pile of shit just by being there
