Not a bait thread, has anyone actually played this?
I grabbed it since it came on Android and honestly, it's really underwhelming. The game seems to do nothing new, it's not even very engaging and starts off with all this needless shit I couldn't give a toss about.
Where does the praise come from, or the justification of the £8 price tag? I've seen people say it's worth it, but I swear from what little I played there didn't seem to be much worthy of note at all. In fact, I'd even say it was boring.
Not to mention you can't even play it offline

There's something about playing New Super Mario Bros. on the go with just one hand that I really like. Casual, yes, but that's mobile games for you.

It's barebones on purpose. Like Fire Emblem Heroes and Pokemon Go, it's just a small portion of what a full, mainline title, is. Just enough to get you hooked and wanting more so that you may go out and buy a Wii U, Switch or 3DS and some Pokemon, Fire Emblem, and/or Mario games.
Why this one of them all cost money is beyond retarded, as mentioned it has far less to do even if you buy it, than most free games.

I said it feels like one, that doesn't mean in every aspect of the game. Mario runs and you tap frequently to make him do shit, much akin to an endless runner. It does feel like one, I didn't say it's the same as one.
