We Happy Few

What happened to We Happy Few? I can't find any news about it...

Thought it was cool. Lost all my hype when I found out into was just a survival game. Should've been a story focused game

>We Happy Jew

cool idea, did nothing with it

from my understanding it was a cool looking game that gave off bioshock style vibes then fell for the survival crafting meme.

>bioshock vibes
It never did. It was looking to be a narrative focused FPS with 60s/mod vibes and drugs. Nothing close to Bioshock.

It sucks, move on

except the narrative focus jumped to gameplay focus without substance.

It turned into a survival game and everyone instantly stopped caring about it.

>Bioshock
Jesus fuck. It's obviously based off of Brave New World, down to the happy pills.

the only thing bioshock about it was the E3 trailer

thats literally it

It's literally still in Alpha.

Complaining about We Happy Few as it is no narrative is like complaining that Hello Neighbor has no story.

It's literally just a tech demo at this point, and in no way reflects what the final product will be. Calm your autism.

I lost all hype when reddit finds out about a game

>main complaint about this game on Sup Forums is that it has no story
>it's literally a pre-alpha build

>STILL IN ALPHA!

Can't polish a turd, if the alpha is shit the game will be shit.

They fell for the procgen meme and it took all the fun out of it.

and thats what got people excited obviously user

Nothing
It's a boring, procedurally generated, open world survival game that temporarily tricked people into thinking it was a first person adventure game with a nice E3 trailer

The complaint is that it has no story.
It's literally just a tech demo at this point.
I've literally never played an alpha build game with a complete story before.

It ended up being just another generic open world survivalcraft game.

How did survival-crafting even make sense to the developers with a premise like We Happy Few?

It's absolutely fucking retarded?

It's just another open world survival crafting game with a Bioshock-esque skin. Like we fucking needed another one.

It was The Big Thing at the time and they thought that was what was getting them sales, not just the premise and the novel-looking antagonists.

Kinda like "Why the fuck is The Secret World an MMO anyway?"

The complaint is that it alluded to something with good gameplay. It has a story, nobody cares.

It's another shitty survival meme game.

>pre-alpha
>non functioning unavailable to the public.

Words, they have meanings.
If it compiles and they made it available to the public it is a beta test. Perhaps an early beta test and one that is not indicative of the final product, but then the question becomes if it doesn't reflect their ultimate goal, WHY would they put it out there in the first place?

>roguelike tag

I seriously did not expect it to be another boring survival game when they first showed off the trailer.

Too many of those types of games saturate the the fucking market

No, the main complaint is that it's another procedurally generated, open-world survival crafting game when it initially looked like a Brave New World esque adventure game from its trailer

What the other guy said, really.
I would've even settled for a relatively generic "go stealth or go loud" combat-stealth hybrid like Dishonored or Nu-Prey.
Instead, we got fucking nothing.
Although killing everyone and stacking them in a butcher's bathroom until the world collapsed was enjoyable.
