You have 10 seconds to explain why you do not currently own or have plans in the near future to own the GOAT

You have 10 seconds to explain why you do not currently own or have plans in the near future to own the GOAT

I have it. Played my fill of botw. Playing a few games in my backlog before I buy more switch games

Because its shit.

Need more than Zelda, but I like the concept of the console and will buy the inevitable upgraded mini (or XL?) model down the road. Its current iteration is just shy of perfection (for what I want from a console of this type), and I think it will be a hit for Nintendo; but I'd rather not buy that dinky ass piece of shit controller as it currently looks when Nintendo's likely already working on a better version.

But you don't own one. How do you know?

Nintendo has no plans to sell me one any time soon, so I can't bring myself to care.

All it needs is a better kickstand, to move the charging port, and a bigger battery. The size, ergonomics and portability is all great.

Have Zelda already, all the "indies" are shit I have on Vita, not enough third party support, underpowered console, no games, obviously will be redesigned by the time it's worth owning.

Don't care about Zelda. None of the other games I'm interested in have release dates yet. Will probably wait until later in the year.

No Kirby game

The only reason I got one was because I got it and a pro controller 30% off

There's just no reason to get one right now unless you have no place else to play it or have absolutely no patience

i'm not 12 anymore

I feel the exact same way about Sony.

Almost every game I want is a Sony exclusive. I see absolutely nothing enticing in the slightest about Nintendo. Got bored of Mario and Zelda when I was 12 and my balls dropped.

When I turn on my PS4 Pro, I realize no console I've ever owned in my entire life can provide me more happiness. I mean it, I'm shocked by how much I love it. Gravity Rush, Yakuza, Horizon, Nioh, The Last Guardian, The Last of Us, Uncharted, Persona 5. I can't actually believe this console exists and has this many games I want on it. I already have Death Stranding, God of War, Spiderman, Gran Turismo Sport, Final Fantasy VII and Detroit: Become Human either pre-ordered or wishlisted. I could pretend playing multiplats on PC is fun, but the truth is PC is a Blizz machine. Overwatch is like the only game worth playing on PC. Or pirating games to see if I like them, before I buy them on the PS4 where I actually like playing them. Because all my friends have PlayStation 4s.

Also yes, the Switch is a 7th gen console, no it will never top PS4 sales, yes it will be the last Nintendo console. Don't worry, you're gonna play your Zelda and Mario games in the best quality you've ever seen in your life once the PS5 port hits.

>when I was 12 and my balls dropped
But I can see that they didnt

Waiting for the holidays and getting some decent income.

>overwatch worth playing
alright this made me chuckle

>that feel when you realize #4ThePlayers isn't just a slogan
>it's unironically a philosophy Sony as a company lives by
>they're literally doing everything they can to be the platform that has the most games, most efficient and affordable hardware by modern standards for AAA games, most diverse library, best controller for 20 years straight but now with motion controls and a touchscreen, VR capable if you want it, able to stream games on PC or a mobile device, and completely capable of gimmicks gameplay if you so desire it
>Kaz himself literally kicked down the doors at Square Enix HQ, walked straight into the CEO's office, grabbed the phone out of his hand and hung it up, pulled out his dick, slammed it flat across the Square CEOs desk and stared him dead in the eyes without saying a word for 5 minutes straight, then left.
>1 year later the Final Fantasy VII Remake trailer comes out and all the FFXV sales are on PlayStation.

I don't care what you think of me. I've never enjoyed video games more in my life than I do now, and I owe it all to Sony. The PlayStation 4 was a console so good, on Switch release date I actually held up the lines by forcing the girl at GameStop to exchange my old PS4 for a PS4 Pro. She kept trying to convince me to buy a used Slim for some reason, but I wouldn't bite: I knew Gamestop would get money from used console sales, and I can't have that: the money needs to go straight to Sony. This is also why I make an effort to buy games digitally as much as possible: this way 100% of my money goes to the developers and Sony, and I already have a 2TB HDD on my hard drive.

Every other person I know who has a PS4 just loves it and I see them playing on it all the time. I've never met a single PS4 owner who wasn't looking forward to all the games on the horizon or didn't have a ton of games for their console already.

They really are, unironically, without any trace of forced marketing or corporatism, For The Players.

nintendo's fucking retarded business strategy means its fucking STILL sold out everywhere in my city

fuck you i might have wanted it week 1, week 2, week 3, and maybe week 4, but i aint fucking getting it now.

See you when you get one in May

Because I'm not interested in Zelda and there's nothing coming out for some time.
Plus this thing is obviously going to have a better version of it in like a year

I can't find one in a store.

I'm too depressed to care. I'd rather buy a gun and shoot myself.

This will not happen for at least 3 years. If you want to wait that long, more power to you, but don't expect a refresh in a year or so. There is no point in doing one until chipsets get massively more powerful for an affordable manufacturing rate and/or battery breakthroughs finally happen on a mass-production scale.

Because I don't currently have the money and I want to wait for Splatoon to launch before I buy it.

cemu

Making pretty games are the only thing Sony are good at. The majority of their first party suck at making games and the only people who sing praises about them worship Sony as a company. Even Microsoft has better first party that resonates beyond their fanbase like Halo. Sure they have third party right now, but the tides change quickly and then they got nothing to fall back on.

You realize it took them 4 years to start releasing high quality content, right? The Switch literally just launched, so if you're going to make the argument that Sony are amazing gods who piss golden dews of ambrosia, maybe you should keep in mind that it took them (4) years to start getting a semblance of a good library when 4 years from now, the Switch will have an amazingly strong library in comparison to the Scorpio and PS5.

>They really are, unironically, without any trace of forced marketing or corporatism, For The Players.

This was beautifully autistic to read. Thank you.

>buying a console for one game

that's a dog not a goat

Are you talking about the PS4 when it launched 4 years ago?

I don't like action adventures games
In other words
SWITCH HAS NO GAMES

With more games I'll get one.
Having to avoid spoilers about Zelda online is fucking impossible though. I wish I could filter "BotW" from YouTube.

Makes me wish I experienced the game on day one without knowing about all of the small details that I know now.

Because I can't get one without buying from scalpers.

No, I'm talking about the Switch. Enjoy your one game, and shovelware until December.

I'm poor and even if I buy one I don't see my penis nestled in between an Asian girls vagina and fat butt cheeks.

Okay then.

>games that have been on other consoles and the PC for almost 3 years
That does it, I have to get a Switch now.

If this is a Switch exclusive temporarily, does that mean that the PC and PS4 versions will technically be ports?

I'm already playing thousand of games on my android with some emulators for free. I dont need your overpriced tablet.

>"Anything I don't like is shovelware"

Well the PC version is technically a free update if you bought the original. The answer is yes and no, it's more like a simultaneous release, Switch is getting it first however because Yacht Club needs the money apparently.

>I could pretend playing multiplats on PC is fun, but the truth is PC is a Blizz machine.

I stopped reading after this, I mean it's opinion but it's pretty shit I own a PS4 and a PC and they both give me enjoyment.

Well it didn't stop people from buying the PS4. How are those HD* "Remasters"** and "Legacy Collections" treating you?

*Upscaled
**Not all assets are HD

My backlog is too big at the moment. I'll have to buy a Switch if SMT5 is released exclusively on it; otherwise, it can wait

Yeah, Bomberman seems like an instant classic.

>buying remasters
Have fun with Mariokart and Splatoon.

Enjoy your 2 hours of battery time and not being able to do important work-related tasks on your phone afterwards!

>nintendo fucking fails 4 consoles in a row
>repeats the same mistakes
>no fucking games, no fucking third party support, library is all ports and snipper clips
>"IT'S GONNA BE GOOD THIS TIME YOU GUYS, SRSLY!"

It's just an overclocked Wii U, so any third party multiplats or ports will run like shit.

Just look at DQH and I am Setsuna

I'll move out of my parent's house to my own so i don't exactly have any money right now.
Maybe later when it has some more games.

but it is

You mean the Splatoon Sequel? Sure will.

Also this

>he thinks its an actual sequel
Oh sweetie.

Splatoon is a ripoff of Nathan Drake Collection, Breath of the Wild is a The Last of Us Remastered ripoff, and Mario Odyssey clearly takes heavy inspiration from Gravity Rush Remastered.

>okay guys, should we give the Switch the latest Tegra X2 pascal chip, that will make our little system at least a bit less powerful than a PS4, but with amazing battery life and great performance for a portable console?

>nah lol, let's just buy nvidia's leftover Maxwell X1 chips, downclock them to make the system barely stronger than our underpowered Wii U, and we'll sell the system for $300 without games

I'll only buy this junk when it gets a pricecut and working CFW

No games.

Dude i'm fucking broke, saving up for one.

Stop bullying me Sup Forums D:

That's not a PS4

>He hasn't seen the test-fire stream today.
>Titled Splatoon 2.
>Not a Sequel

>he thinks Uncharted 4 is an actual sequel

Oh Sweetie.

>make some new maps in map editor
>call it Splatoon 2

Sasuga, Nintendo.

Did anyone else see that they have vertical screen support for Neo-Geo titles? Could be good.

>this much bait

wew kid

this is why

I'm content to wait for a hardware revision and a better library. That may not happen for two or more years, but the reality is that the Switch doesn't seem to have a ton of novel/great games swarming to it. The wait is small potatoes.

I seriously don't understand this viewpoint. It has a mainline Mario coming out, it's had a 3d Zelda title release on launch, it's going to have Xenoblade 2, Splatoon 2, and Fire Emblem Musou release by the fall, a mainline SMT in 2018, a mainline FE in 2018, and possibly a Pokemon port and Monster Hunter on the horizon. These first two years look stacked in terms of good first party support

Specter Knight is a bootleg Shovel Knight. You can keep it.

>there will be few weeaboo games+mario in 2 years

wooooooooooooooooooooow

Jesus Christ I've haven't seen somebody be this asshurt since Bayonetta 2 was announced for Wii U

What the fuck does Nintendo make that isn't "weaboo" by your retarded standards?

Visiting Sup Forums first time in 5 years?

your wahoo toddler shit, I guess?

When the console has more than 1 game. I don't want to own a paperweight that only has shovel ware garbage on it.

Xenoblade 2 looks like it's stealing assets from Nier: Automata and Horizon.

I mean, come on. The first game was already a Final Fantasy X Remastered ripoff.

alright OP here's my actual answer

assuming that i actually could find one to buy, i still wouldn't. here's why.

>$300 for a machine that currently has one and only one good looking game, at least for the next 6 months
>if anything breaks you have to drop at least another $50 to replace it
>horror stories about them breaking
>don't care about portability so i wouldn't need that at all
>even if i did it only gets 2 hours of battery
>can't play it in portable mode while charging because the plug is on the bottom

>4 consoles in a row

>N64
Lol no.

>Gamecube
Maybe.

>Wii
Again, lol no.

>WiiU
Yeah, kinda.

This might surprise you, but I don't really give a shit about the vast majority of RPGs.

That leaves, of your list, Mario and Zelda. I'm interested in both of those games (especially Mario; I love Zelda but BOTW doesn't seem like something I'll overwhelmingly enjoy) but two games don't justify owning a system for me, especially given the hardware shortcomings. I have no trouble waiting.

I haven't paid attention to it much but I played BOTW enough to figure out that it has some very smart gameplay design. The ability to climb anything makes the map seem MUCH bigger. I don't know how something so simple improves the open world so much but it absolutely does.

You know that any place you go in the modern world has electrical outlets to charge your mobile device at right? Battery life is a huge meme, who cares if a portable device only has 10 minutes of battery life?

Too expensive.
Good games aren't out for a long ass time.
Barely any games announced.

E3 had better be a blow out or this thing is WiiU 1.5

Or just tape a portable charger to the fuckin thing

Exactly there are so many ways to get around short battery life, so why do so many people meme about having a longer battery life as if it is a positive?

1. Only game it has right now I'm already playing on Wii U
2. I refuse to pay a dime for online so MK8D and Splatoon 2 are moot (besides, I already played MK8 on Wii U and don't give a fuck about Battle Mode and Pink Gold Mario)
3. I don't care about Mario Odyssey
4. Xenoblade 2 doesn't have an official release date and I'm kinda salty we won't get answers to X's sequel bait ending
Literally 0 reasons to buy one until AT LEAST 2018, if not later, because I won't buy a game console until it has five games I want to play out and released and the only game on its current lineup is Xenoblade 2 for god knows when, at which point I might as well wait to see if they're gonna have a price drop or revision.

Because Nintendo held a Zelda game back for 2 years so it could be a launch title on their new shitty system. Nintenbros are the absolute worst. If Nintendo living off their savings is what you drones/fags call successful then I guess more power to you. Nintendo could shit in a disk and retards would by it. Most of their shit will be on steam in a few years anyway so who really cares. The switch is hipster garbage for people who browse reddit.

Don't want to get burned like I did with the Wii U.

Will probably get it in two years once they announce the Switch XL or New Switch.

I'm playing through the first Xenoblade game and starting to enjoy it despite the flaws, most of which might be because I'm playing it on the 3DS.
How is X in comparison? Is it still worth picking up on the Wii U?

So why do people use it as an excuse for shitting on the Switch, which has better battery life than a fucking iPad?

>Xenoblade on 3DS

Youre really doing yourself a disservice. The best thing about the game is it's environments. You should be enjoying them on a big screen.

X is pretty good. It's quite different in style though. More 80's sci fi than anime fantasy

i'm waiting for the pro/2 with less problems

I wonder how many small portable chargers you could tape to the back of a switch.

iPad have 2 hours battery life?

>having plans in the near future

Nah, unless Nintendo takes a bunch of interesting exclusives out of its ass I am not getting it soon. I have hopes though, the shitty hardware will force Nintendo to invest on exclusives since current gen multiplats won't run on it.

Nintendo have confirmed they are likely going full spin off/outsourcing mode with this system.

Which could lead to some interesting results.

Yeah, that might be interesting, first time I have been excited about a Nintendo console in decades. Also, I guess a new 3DS won't exist since the Switch is a hybrid, having only one platform to worry about might mean we will get more projects on that single product.

>tfw the support the 3DS had on a home console from now on

How safe is it to buy off amazon third party sellers? I can always go the Craigslist route but I might be robbed in the process.

The switch is literally the best proof of concept console since the Atari. I get if you guys would wait for more games or a redesign, but you should do yourselves a favor and keep a close eye on this one because it's a game changer.

thanks for your opinion, nintendildo

I'm an idort, mongo
