It's when someone tells everyone what a great and moral person they are for reasons X, Y, and Z, in a heavy-handed and often passive-aggressive way. In a more low-key variant, they'll do it simply because they want to be seen on the scoreboard as being "morally right"(think of it like a guy constantly sucking up to the boss at work).

In this case, we had a dev remove content contributed by an internet personality who had been involved in a controversy in the last few weeks. That's pretty standard CYA for a business. But instead of just leaving it at that, where almost nobody would even be aware it happened, they've got representatives of the devs going on social media in all their stereotypical warning coloration glory, loudly talking about how great they were to shitcan the content and if the players don't like it they're all rapists and probably go out of their way to burn styrofoam to release CFCs when nobody is looking.

It isn't really about censorship for me; it is the fact that the Playtonic has made statements about and publicly acted upon their political views. I feel that such things best be left out of business, especially ones dealing with entertainment media. They come off as unprofessional in this regard, and, as a consumer, I don't wish to support them. I had a mild interest in the game and will probably pick it up second hand or pirate it outright sometime down the line, just so long as my money does not reach Playtonic.
