Chopin's pretty good. A good few of his piano works are definitely up there in the bests of all time. He's not a super famous composer in terms of being a name to drop when pretending to know about Classical Music, but his work has been featured all over the place.

Pretty funny that you mention that, I remember getting in an argument with my friend once because he wasn't familiar with Chopin (even though I don't know a whole lot about classical music myself). I guess I just kinda thought it was a name everyone that knows music should know, even if they can't name any of his music offhand.

The world of Classical Music is huge, man. While there are lists of "People you should know", a lot of those lists are totally different depending on what you're looking for.
Chopin is especially hard because almost all of his work (or maybe even all of it, I'm not sure) is strictly Piano while other big Classical names compose for full Orchestras, things you imagine when you hear "Classical Music" as a term.
