Isn't the whole point of the legion that they're blindly loyal to him and his goal of destroying everything? The reason why sargeras couldn't get to Azeroth is because it is too far away, like on the other side of the universe, that's why they need to summon him, but because he's so massive and powerful they need a lot of magic to be able to do that.

With as many retcons, convienience changes to lore, story, and the fact that the writing is increasingly inconsistant, especially since Metzen stopped writing the lore of the game, the inconsistancy makes for a poor setting.

You could say that the legion are actaully god guys and azerothians are living in an illusion and I wouldn't give a fuck because magic unbound by its own rules and logic creates a boring AF setting.
