I just remembered that old Powerpuff Girls was incredibly violent. Like, they beat the fucking shit out of the villains in that show to the point where even kid me felt a little weirded out by it. I assume the newer show toned down the violence a lot?
Classic. It sure as hell isn't modern. Modern starts at stuff like Chowder and Flapjack until now.
Transitional was that awful fucking period with horseshit like Camp Lazlo, Squirrel Boy and My Gym Partner's a Monkey.
I don't even know what you're talking about, sorry but I think everything you're mentioning is modern.
Classic is the pre-Cartoon Cartoons era.
Transitional is when CN actually started doing in-house animation, starting with World Premiere Toon (actually starting back in 94 with Space Ghost Coast to Coast)
Modern is when stuff like Ben 10 and Adventure Time appeared. The new wave of american animation.
Cartoon network didn't really become cartoon network until 1996. before that all it was was flintstones, looney tunes and scooby doo. twenty four seven. Cartoon network was good until 2002/2003.
>implying anyone gives a shit about pre-Cartoon Cartoons anymore
I'm 30 and don't even give a shit about that era. Cartoon Cartoons are golden era.
Before that would be what would be referred to as platinum era. The shit before anyone cares. Like pre-superhero era comic books.
Golden era Cartoon Cartoons like Dexter, PPG, Johnny Brave and EE&E are definitely classics.
I got this one. Pretty cool how there was a game for each of them.
Then Flintstones/Looney Tunes/Scooby got carted off to Boomerang with all the other Hanna Barbera shit.
Bravo*
Definitely classic.
mother of fuck I hated the cramp twins
I agree with every placement except Codename KND. KND was always fucking retarded. Shit tier.
There were even episodes where the villains were framed and still got beaten up.
I think CN had its own personality even before 1996.
In the early 90s, they had all the newer Hanna-Barbera productions like A pup named scooby doo, Snorks, etc.
CN was mostly a H-B channel, which was cool, but they also had the Daffy and Bugs show, the Tex Avery show (amazing), and other classics like Tom and Jerry, Merrie Melodies, etc.
CN was like a bonafide classic animation channel.
...
best girl
I remember 2 stupid dogs was cartoon networks first original series. that was in 93 a year after CN came out and 3 years before dexter, johnny bravo etc.
The only actually good show on Nu-CN right now is Gumball. The rest went to shit or were shit in the first place.
No it wasn't, it was garbage, only reason you care about it is cause you grew up with it.
knock down KND and Sheep and i'd agree
I fapped to the zone animation like 100 times
I don't think it was a original cartoon network series. It used to be on FOX
No, it wasn't. 2 Stupid Dogs started on TBS and then got syndicated on local channels before hitting CN.
It's a Turner/Hanna-Barbera production.
Gumball deserves better than nu-cartoon network
Did puffy ami yumi only get made because the teen titans intro was popular?
Spotted the tryhard contrarian.
VIDEO
GAMES
Pretty much.
AUTISM
Yes.
SHITPOSTING
...
>modern CN
user....
TAWoG has no reason to be as good as it is.
Their first fully produced show was Space Ghost Coast to Coast. Before that CN made some shorts about a 3D dog that wasn't popular enough.
Probably because it's produced and written in England rather than America. And we are not as obsessed with memes than we the Americans are.

There is so many more cartoons not talked about in this thread
Why
>the tex avery show
Current Nickelodeon has gotten even worse than current CN. Prove me wrong.
You can't.
Man i was just watching spaceghostcoasttocoast on KODI
>we are not obsessed as we are
???
Nickelodeon still exists?
But gumball has tons of memes
>when your mom buys you this game [spoilers]from Lowe's[/spoilers]
I never beat it, but I still have it.
Look up Henry Danger.
Nothing made after Evil Con Carne is actually a Cartoon Cartoon.
1990s culture in tv shows in the 1990s are better than memes ever were
At least they go for the highest gourmet quality of memes instead of the bargain bin memes.
EE&E was a real fucking acid trip at times, good shit though
I think the classic era (pre-cartoon cartoons) is the golden era.
Cartoon Cartoons would be silver.
beavis and butthead
daria
and
ren and stimpy were my favorite
You seem awfully obsessed with Americans, though.
You forgot Aeon Flux.
>want to go re-watch an old cartoon I loved as a kid
>worried it'll turn out to have actually been shit and wind up soiling my good memories
what do Sup Forums
Mike Lu & Og was really good but it wasn't the same type of comedy as the other shows on that list.
>mojo jojo just floating in the air
What the fuck? Last Nickelodeon show I watched was ICarly and only because one of the girls was a qt.
I love that show too
Stop as soon as Fred Fredburger shows up.
Watch em
They are the subgenre of 1990s that existed to the late 2000s that carried on
all the darker aspects of humanity but with a kid friendly coat of paint on them
This.
I loved Duckman too.
There was a show about a parasyte or something like that, but I can't remember shit about it.
2 angry beavers
rocket power??
I barely remember shit about Angry Beavers
Rocket Power was 90's culture condensed into a single retrospectively cringey show.
The Head
Who /locomotion/ here?
I think Kablam was more 90s culture
rocket power was california 90s culture
This was the first animu channel BRs had.
Also, new season of Samurai Jack is starting pretty solid.
Akku's VA is the only sad thing...
Duckman was great, but we've switched networks again. Duckman was USA.
The MTV parasite show was maybe the Head? It was about a guy with a symbiotic alien living in his head.
Since we're doing all networks now, I loved the Critic, Dr. Katz and Home Movies.
South Cali culture.
Transitional would be stuff like Courage, EEnE, KND, Samurai Jack. All in house but still good minus shit like nuDexter.
The ONLY good thing to ever come from Rocket Power was the old Squid beefed it meme.
Those were Nickelodeon though.
That's the one. Thank you, I have always wanted to watch it again.
Dr. katz was fantastic too.
>Sheep in mid
>knock down Sheep
Shut up, General Frogposter.
>that Aeon Flux video
2 Stupid Dogs was originally on TBS not CN.
Sheep was proto-lolrandum shit.
Not even the kind that at least tried to make it interesting like Cow and Chicken.
Watch The Maxx too while you're at it. You'll thank me.
Cow & Chicken was basically just a Ren & Stimpy style "let's see what we can get away with in a kids' show" thing.
Not as good as R&S, but it had good moments.
Why is CN consistently good whereas Disney and Nick are now absolute garbage?
Hell no. Most of the old Hanna-Barbera library is total crap. It's just all they had access to at the time.
>current-day CN
>good
Maybe if you like nu-male garbage and reruns of TTG 24/7
>that one episode with the clown
>that fucking clown
>he was a jolly mother fucker alright
>always cheering up the townsfolk and making everybody happy and whatnot
>until a truck full of bleach spills on him
>turns him into an evil mute mime
>he goes around draining the color, ability to speak and happiness from everyone he touches but is only doing so under the bleach's influence
>the PowerPuff Girls show up and cure him and the town
>he gratefully thanks them for freeing him
>he starts making the town happy again
>and it looks like the show will end on a happy note
>suddenly the PPG start beating the absolute shit out of this guy
>I mean savagely mauling this poor fucker who wasn't even a villain, only the victim of poor circumstance
>beat him so bad his bones are sticking out
>throw him in prison afterwards
>mfw viewing this as a kid
Pic unrelated I hope. Grim Adventures holds up quite well.
Gravity Falls was ok if we're counting Disney XD. But that show is over now.
Disney Channel was never good.
Man i'm bummed I missed out on the PPG. I dismissed it as a show for girls growing up and never actually watched it.
I'd watch it nowadays but I can't get over the inherent embarrassment of a 22-year old man watching through an entire children's cartoon.
Will do my dude.
yes, yes it was.
Rocko's Modern Life was another one.
Cartoon Network had another golden era of you asked me. Adventure Time, Regular Show, Looney Tunes Show, Steven Universe, Uncle Grandpa, Gumball among others are all classics. It's a shame most of them are ending/ended with nothing worthwhile to replace them.
That's cool and all user, but I've got one thing to say to you.
Return the slab.
Toon Heads was great man. The MGM and classic Warner Bros cartoons made that old era.
Dude wanna go vape at the in-n-out?
Best thread on Sup Forums right now. Enjoy some groovies:

>Most of old H-B library is total crap.
Wrong.
>It's just all they had access to at the time.
Wrong.
It's evident you never watched the classic CN.
It wasn't like Boomerang. Boomerang was just a weekly section of CN.
Grim Adventures still holds up. It's a genuinely funny show.
>that recent Looney Tunes abortion
>good
You can't possibly be serious.
PowerPuff Girls was legit the most violent thing on Cartoon Network that wasn't on [Adult Swim] or Toonami. It got away with it because of the quirky animation style and le empowered female main cast meme but if the main characters were male that show would have been taken off the air the moment it aired due to parent outrage.
>Adventure Time
>Regular Show
>Steven Universe
>Uncle Grampa
>Gumball
>classics
You're baiting, right? Why did you lump Looney Tunes with all these new-school shit?
I've always hated Tom and Jerry honestly. Never got the appeal but it seemed like that's all they ever had on when I was home sick or it was a snow day.
