The games, the feel of holding it in your hands, huge screen, battery life and all those little pieces of technology crammed in. Even the 3D doesn't seem like a gimmicky and at times it really does look as though you're peering in another world.

And the best part? It's still alive and kicking even to this day and Nintendo has confirmed that they have big plans for it this upcoming E3.

My question to you is: Will Nintendo or any other developer manage to capture lighting in a bottle ever again? Or is the timeless 3DS destined to reign supreme...

Arguably the worst thing about it. Dual screen is helpful, but it has its downsides. Like having a second screen attached to a fragile hinge.

Soul Silver, Heart Gold, and Platinum were more enjoyable and had a better base game.

I've definitely gotten a lot of mileage out of my 3ds but the fact that people think pic related is a perfect game if not the best game on the system makes me shy away from 3ds discussion. I get the feeling a lot of people own nothing but the 3DS so they think this poor man's shooter is excellent because it's pushing the boundaries of the technology.

I want to try the Zelda remakes on the 3DS. But what should I get the 2DS/3DS/3DS XL? The XL costs $50 less than a god damn PS4.

you do know I was referring to the specific entries on the ds. I already am aware of the backwards compatibility too. There are more games I could mention like Solartorobo, 999 and Advance wars among others.

I never really enjoyed monster hunter it's not a game for everyone. SMT 4 was one of the weaker smt's and I wasn't a fan of apocalypses direction. Pokemon Sun/Moon were some of the only pokemon games I've dropped. Fire Emblem Awakening was an extremely weak srpg and pairups weren't balanced. The others were pretty great though. I just think the ds had a more interesting library.

the only time i ever turned the 3d effect on after I bought it was to mess around with the monster introductions in MH4U. There's no reason to pay a premium for it and it's not something I wanted before, nor was it anything I'll miss

I can play any console that's PS1 or earlier on the PSP though, even some N64 games ran on it. My 3DS literally only plays monster hunter, I haven't found a single other game worth anything on it. My PSP only ever really did monster hunter as well, but I could play a ton of emulated games on it, I could do SOME of that on my 3ds, if I cared to crack it, but the PSP could still do more.

The regular n3ds looks so aesthetic. It honestly makes me wish I had more desire to play mine and that the screen was brighter and that the speakers were a bit louder. Oh and maybe a 360p screen. Then I would love it forever.

I agree. I'm very strongly considering downgrading from an XL to just a new3DS. The all white one looks so good and I love the non-glossy feel of it and the quieter buttons, I'll miss the screen size though.

I haven't had any scratches on my faceplates. Faceplates are glossy which might be scratch resistant but I am not 100% sure about that.

When I had the old 3DS, the strap came with the Circle Pad Pro and when I got the New 3DS, ended up putting the strap onto my New 3DS.

Not him but Smash 3DS exposed that it couldn't handle certain things that the Gamecube was able to like 13 years prior.

Yeah the screen size of the bottom is kindof a let down. Top isn't too bad though since most games already look pixelated. I'd recommend trying it out before you buy.

yeah my wife has a new 3DS and I have a new XL and comparing them side by side the differences really are negligible, icons on hers look a bit sharper even. She has pic related and it feels wonderful to hold, I really want the white one, which is cheap at the moment.

I don't know why these people are selling it so cheap, maybe they're just following a trend set by some misinformed person, but many of them have good ratings and Amazon is quick to refund false items so I might pull the trigger here soon

I have the red IPS N3DS XL that you see up there. Honestly, I would have got the smaller one due to the compact size and sexy face-plates if it wasn't for Jewtendo's deceptions. The way things are right now: IPS N3DS > Regular 3DS

The "new" 3ds isn't worth it.
Sure, the screen size is better, but the button placement is higher up compared to the 2ds, which makes it annoying to hold. And the 3 extra games you can play on it aren't really worth it.
