Whoa!

Ive been thinking about picking up an og xbox and modding it to play burnt games and run emulators. It's one of the few consoles i have never owned. I remember having a blast with timesplitters, fable and kotor on my friends xbox. Im going to burn jet set radio future and conkers reloaded first. Give me a some good xbox games! Also maybe digi world 4 but it was multiplat

I forgot that the original NSX was on the cover of Forza
Damn I'm such a retard I had the opportunity to buy one for like $22k like 5 years ago
Still waiting for a working softmodded one to arrive since I originally got one with a defective disc drive (which means it hardly turns on because that apparently controls the power after softmodding), I've had the molex splitter and hard drive here since last week. Of what I've been able to play when it has worked, I liked the Xbox port of Arma: Cold War Assault and Halo a lot. MoH: Frontline is much more basic and boring than I remember, though.

FROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Breakdown is one of the best games of all time. Microsoft needs to throw money at Namco for a sequel RIGHT NOW senpai, though I heard most people that worked on the game are gone from Namco.
All those days and nights playing Rainbow Six 3, Whacked!, Halo2, Morrowind, Splinter Cell online, or just using the dash board chat rooms in the original xbox live.
Great game. Still haven't played anything like it.

What went right?
I'm not a huge fan of the Xbox but it had some moments.
The best version of THPS2 is a good one.
I cut my thumb open playing this
>JSRF
>splinter cell (bought it for homebrew but played a bit of it while figuring out how to install unleashx)
>the incredible hulk ultimate destruction
>metal wolf chaos (it's relatively obscure even if most of Sup Forums knows it)
>halo 2 (the only game i've played multiplayer because i have no friends and one controller, and just played on xlink kai)
Spent so many hours playing Halo 2 with friends as a kid.
>Tfw we finally beat the game on legendary
That game was one of the happiest times of my life from the ages of around 9-12
Xbox was such an aesthetically cool console, the menu and start up screen are great, it's too bad they dropped that for the minimalist, sleek bullshit. Considering buying one
UNDERSTAND UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF LOVE
Fuck yes I loved JSRF. Cube was best girl.
...
it didn't completely pander to chad and the dashboard was cool as fuck.
motherfucking 4 player co op
So let me get this straight,
If i buy a modded Xbox, I can download ISOs from the internet, and move them over to the console through a USB?
I don't need to buy games?
thanks in advance bros
>never got the true ending
USB is extremely slow, it's better you connect your PC and xbox to the same LAN and copy games to the hard drive over FTP
the easiest way to softmod involves buying an exploit game and using a save exploit with it but it's possible without
theres no usb port on the xbox you will have to move that shit with a crossover ethernet cable or some other way
Absolutely worth it my dude, this was my old housemate's but he left it with me when he left town. It's got a new hard drive (and orange and red ring when you load EvoX) and I've burned half a dozen games onto it, on top of what he had already

Even back in the day it wasn't anything fantastic, but I do feel nostalgia for it. I loved the cutscenes when each character is introduced though, because they actually got killed off. Hawk a cute too. Might download it now actually.
Granted not all these are exclusive but if you're gonna mod a console might as well make the most of it
>Mercenaries
Wew lad another one I forgot about
>some sorta Mario Party clone
Fuzion Frenzy or Kung Fu Kaos?
You might be better off actually burning them to a DVD-R and installing them like that. My Xbox freezes trying FTP, but on old forums everybody seemed to prefer FTP. Either option is pretty simple, and cheap, though.
Anyone remember this Xbox game where, essentially you played Chess with elemental armies, and when one piece meet the enemy it was a 3D fighting game? From what I remember there were armies like darkness, fire, Earth, etc. I haven't been able to find it in years
Emuparadise is a legit place for Xbox isos?
Raze's Hell?

Kingdom Under Fire and Genma Onimusha are pretty much the only reasons to own the console
I don't think I have any issues with any of my OG Xboxes
Also the fix for the game breaking kingdom Under Fire bug was found and confirmed, you just need to use a different controller
>the only reasons to own the console
Obviously you know nothing about the library if that's how you really feel.
There's stuff in this list sure
But a fair amount are available on other platforms as well
check this There's a bunch of stuff missing like Phantom Dust and ToeJam & Earl III, and Otogi
Is there a good guide for replacing the OG XBox's fan? Mine's now loud as shit naturally, will any 80mm fan work?
Nah, I found it though. Wrath Unleashed. It's a pretty fun game from what I remember
>Had a modded Xbox for years
>Disk drive finally cropped out
>Not sure if I'm capable of switching out the hard drive without fucking it up
FUG :DD
Syberia 1 & 2, that's the one I'm thinking of!
It's just an IDE hard drive
why don't you just replace the laser or whatever went wrong instead?
>tfw you have game saves that are copy-protected
>hard drive will inevitably fail
ahem
>featuring music by: Sum 41 & SPAN
why isn't this a meme
Copy-protected saves can't be transferred. Fuck Tecmo and their stupid ass policies.
Yes, 80mm fits, you just need to break some parts. Depending on the width of the fan you might need to cut some parts of the steel mesh too.
didn't want people sharing all their unlocked bikinis in DOAXBV did they? And it's sadly still the best entry in the series.
Is it simple enough to transfer everything to a new hard drive? I watched a video on it, but I couldn't tell if it was really that easy or not
Maybe in the gameplay department.
>no pole-dancing
That alone means it's definitely NOT the best one.
This seems like the perfect fan then

what was the diference between ninja gaiden and ninja gaiden black? just the difficulty?
That game runs in 1080i btw
Google nigga
Tecmo announced at E3 2005 that Team Ninja was working on Ninja Gaiden Black,[76] and later exhibited a working version of the game at the TGS 2005.[77] Black is a reworked compilation of the original Ninja Gaiden and the two Hurricane Packs.[54] The game features new foes, such as exploding bats and doppelgänger fiends who can imitate Ryu.[78] It contains more costumes than the original, and swaps Ninja Gaiden's unlockable NES games for an arcade version.[79]
One key feature of this version is its two new difficulty settings—the easy Ninja Dog and the very hard Master Ninja.[74] Itagaki added Ninja Dog after receiving complaints of Ninja Gaiden being too hard in its default incarnation,[80] although he believed that, with persistence, any player was capable of completing the game.[81] Hence he ensured that those players selecting Ninja Dog would be subjected to gentle mockery by the game—players on this difficulty setting receive colored ribbons as accessories, and Ayane treats Ryu as an inferior. In compensation, Itagaki made the other difficulty settings harder than in Ninja Gaiden. Another feature of Black is its Mission Mode, which comprises 50 combat missions, one of which is adapted from the custom game designed for the Ninja Gaiden Master Tournament World Championship final.
Not him, but I only play my xbox using a $20 RCA to VGA adapter hooked up to my PC monitor CRT
Ninja Gaiden was bugged and put hardmode as normal mode and easy as hardmode. Hard is locked until you beat easy LOL.
Black is still the version to get. Quality of life fixes.
i found most multiplats worked best on the xbox except maybe cell damage which was best on the gamecube
Are component cables for OGXB hard to come by now-a-days?
