How is your internet connection so shit

To be fair, PSN is fucking trash and will often use 5mbps or less and requires pausing/starting the download repeatedly to get your full speed

Because it's a lazy port. Just move into a first-world country and it'll download quicker.

Holy shit I downloaded ME:A in 32 minutes, that's 10x the size.

You need to move with the times, digital media is much bigger than it was 10 years ago.

>to be fair
How about you hardwire it for the time being ya fuckin idiot and learn a thing about networking

Mine is "hardwired" you fucking moron. God forbid someone explain the situation

This is my speedtest over wifi... 802.11ac is more than fast enough if you have a good enough router.

and with the actual d/l speed...

Or use rest mode. Things download faster if you go in rest mode. Sony is a fucking joke.

>don't patch
>game is unplayable
>people complain

at least we got a patch.

The majority of the USA actually has shit internet

I think KH 1.5 HD is not patched yet. Wait 1 more week before playing the game.

I live in a rural area. total population: 2,000. My internet speed: 8mbit.

yea 8mb down is pretty bad at this point, considering you probably don't get the speed they promise you, I have 100mg down service and my actual speed can be 20% of that in many cases.

95% of my gaming is physical because waiting 72h to download 30gb is not worthwhile.

100mb through satellite when?

Day 1 patches are easily the worst thing about these recent gen. Even more with the PS4 garbage download speeds.

Fortunately there are still games you can pop and play without downloading extra GBs (Yakuza 0 for example).

but where is that rural area? Kentucky and Michigan still have shit internet from what I saw last summer visiting relatives

Fuck, I remember having internet like that. At least it felt good to have something fully downloaded after leaving it on overnight.

Argentina

KH1.5 & 2.5 have a day 1 patch because the game's been out in Japan for like a month already, and had issues that needed fixing.

I think it's the same 1.02 patch released last week.

To bad they'll probably not fix the bugs exclusive to the NA version.

Sony has always been shit at downloading or updating games/things. Well since ps3 I Mean.

This is what Xbox live and steam do way better

Because you're not getting the full game on the disk any longer.

Op here. Rural south and shit still has 2 hours to completion

Anyone know if it's safe to start KH1 with about half of the update?

>802.11ac throughput is at near gigabit speeds

How about YOU learn something about networking?

>This is what Xbox live and steam do way better
>Xbox Live

Fuck no, their install times are even worse

Fuck it, we'll do it live

The patch barely impacts 1 anyway. It's mostly just fixes for 2.

PSN limits download speeds. My PS4 will download updates and stuff from the PS Store at like 1-3mbps, but when I download updates to FFXIV which uses its own server it downloads at 20-30mbs

Thanks, makes me feel better

Plus the patch doesn't fix any of the shit like missing audio so it'll never be the definitive version anyway.

What the hell is this "missing audio"?

I have fond memories of games shipping without needing seven patches in two weeks

This is what happens when you don't buy a ps4 pro. You deserve this

I'm fairly certain the regular PS4 is like that too
granted I haven't had my on in months but I remember it being one of the many things that pissed me off about it

Many boss quotes during every boss fight that has them will not play, in addition to many keyblade hit sound effects not playing properly

Op here, this is a pro

>inb4 it's a scam

Yes, I know...

That sucks, but it's not going to break the game. Still sucks that everything that was there 2 gens ago isn't here

The irony this gen is that the Wii U was the best for this shit. Games barely get patches and when they do they're usually under 1gb. And the thing downloads so fast compared to my PS4, and could do so in standby long before the PS4 could.

Don't complain, still better than Xbox right ?

You can download at full speeds from xbox live though

>Still sucks that everything that was there 2 gens ago isn't here
So just like evey sequel or remake for the last 10 years!

Sarcasm user

fuck you im autistic

Unfortunately the common save crashing bug and stuttering when opening some chests and using drive forms because of how the english text is rendered ontop of the japanese text in the english version are both pretty not great to have in what's supposed to be the definitive version of the games.

Aren't we all, to some degree?

can't they just remove the jap text in an update?

Whoah, what is this "save crashing"? Will it totally corrupt a save file, or all attached to a single gameplay?

They could, but they haven't yet, no idea why, or why they did that in the first place.

Every time you save your game, you have a random chance to have the game crash, it hasn't corrupted saves yet so it seems unlikely that it does, but you will have lost all progress since the last time you saved, as the save attempt causes the crash

Okay seriously, how the fuck does a port of an ancient game need a day one patch? Let alone a five gig one? How did that happen? Was the disc empty and you're downloading the whole game as a patch?

If I recall it's because some attack animations or something with KH2's physics engine was tied to framerate

Amigo blanco hola, vivo en una ciudad de 100k habitantes y el internet más copado tiene 12mb. Argentina se quedó en el tiempo

It's always with the tying things to framerate with japs.

It's probably how they get the "dynamic" feeling to all their combat systems. That and its easier to tie it to something that is locked in place for the most part for consistency.

because it's buggy as fuck. the patch didn't even really fix anything.

>That sucks, but it's not going to break the game.
the amount of shit people eat.

My FFX PS2 disc was glitched. I literally could never access the damn thing so I could make the Cloudy Mirror the Celestial Mirror so I could get the ultimate weapons along with the damage cap items.

Sux. This is why I don't mind patches, but putting a literally incomplete game on the shelves is fucking ridiculous. At the very least allow people who bought the game from a physical retailer to enter some receipt code to download day 1 patches before they get their hands on the disc.

okay?

Square Enix doesn't fix their games.

Shit gets broken all the damn time and that's even on proper release discs. At least now that shit can finally be patched, even if developers abuse it to rush out a half-finished/debugged game.

We'll see what FFXV looks like on the GOTY edition. I'm not saying or placing an opinion either way, because it still sucks to get their dough before it was baked a year later

You could have made that up for all I know and the bugs in this new collection don't exist in the old versions of the games.

Why the fuck isn't the game up on psn yet?

>eighth generation consoles

not sure why some people have such shit download speeds via PSN. I average 3-4MB/s (not megabits) over the shitty built in WiFi and my internet connection is nothing special.

I have AT&T internet and it takes me roughly 3-4 hours to download 13 GB, and it takes roughly 6-8 hours to download 20-30 GB.

It's fucking abysmal that we pay for such garbage, but the internet company doesn't care. They have a monopoly on my area, so either you use them or don't have internet at all. You learn to live with it, but it's really pathetic to wait that long. Even a simple 5 GB patch update like OP's would take my internet probably AT LEAST 2 hours if not longer.

No you have fond memories of games being shipped with bugs/gltiches and them being completely unfixable because there was no infrastructure to patch anything.

That's the reality of your childhood, you rose-tinted faggot.

>Sony allows people to take screenshots on their PS4
>Dumbasses still take pictures of their screen with a phone

This is why we can't have nice things.

>>Sony allows people to take screenshots on their PS4
That's where you're wrong.

What do you mean? The buttons right there on your controller, you press it and hold triangle to take a screenshot of your game or whatever you're doing on the homescreen, then you upload it to your fake Twitter for speedy screenies without having to use a USB, it's so fucking easy but people with parkinsons would rather use their phone still in the year 2017.

Not in error screens or during screens like that.
