At the time DS, it had way better games and exclusives. PSP is still super awesome to have nowadays though for easy emulation where as most people that want DS games probably have a 3DS

No chance in hell, Both consoles are GOAT and only SNES and PS2 can even come close to their greatness.

I was pretty thrilled when GTA was able to be played on a portable. Now it's on phones and shit.

PSP is a greater emulation machine

DS had a bunch of great games but not a lot of them really shined.

Theres a few good cult favourites and some good first party titles, but most of the others is just... glorified phone games.

I think they were both great in their own ways. Two great portable consoles. It's a shame the 3DS didn't have the amount of quality games the DS got and the vita... well it speaks for itself.

PSP had a lot of good games, but nothing as really unique or amazing as the DS' offerings.
TWEWY, Ghost Trick, 999, SMT:SJ all beat out any game the PSP has, although stuff like Half Minute Hero can't be ignored either. I always felt like the PSP was trying to be a portable console, whereas the DS just had its own unique library that couldn't be found elsewhere. it's kind of ironic that nearly every game I listed is going to be ported though.

Do people treat a PSP like an mp3 player?

It can technically function as one, I can't imagine doing that though

This it was my precursor to smart phone stroken....

PSPs made me feel like i could have to whole world in my hand when coupled with internet.It was portable and i knew how to use wifi back when no one had passwords.

Both are great handhelds and which one is the best boils down to personal preference.

Having Disgaea 1 and 2, Unlosing Ranger, Monhun, Phantasy Star, Ys, decent (but not perfect) emulation and a better sound and screen wins the gold for me.

DS has great games, its a visual novel and metroidvania paradise, but not "I'd play it forever" kind of games, with a few exceptions. Specifically Phantasy Star 0.

Feels pretty good to have both Vita and 3DS and emulate both PSP and DS in their best state.

when i was a little boy i had a ds and i wanted to also get a psp so i could play kingdom hearts but my mom said no so i was sad :(
