There haven't been many enticing console-only third-party games in years.

With few exception, Nintendo games are the only console exclusives worth caring about.
Damn-near everything else worth giving a shit about is on PC.

I just feel so disappointed in Nintendo. I really loved their games and their characters, but they have fallen so far behind in the console race it's ridiculous. There's no way the Switch could compete with the PS4.

What happens if the Switch fails? We know Nintendo has enough money so that they won't go bankrupt.
Will they come out with another console real quick, but by that time I'm sure the competitors will be ready to come out with new consoles too. It's possible they could take a break from video games and pursue a Pixar-esque animation path. Miyamoto was experimenting with Pikmin animations. I really hope they just go the path of Sega and make good third party games. Everyone would win.

But user, Nintendo Games are the only third party games I'd want, so I'll just buy the Nintendo.

Don't you guys realize that if Switch is another "Nintendo machine" it won't get wide appeal, which will doom it to low sales, which will doom it to being abandoned prematurely? You have to follow the logic train through... Wii U owners got thrown under the bus because it was a "Nintendo machine". Mario Odyssey is a Wii U game that they're not getting. And it'll happen again. You'll be forced to make an arbitrary upgrade
