Which to buy?

Which should I buy?

Vita

+it has remote play so i could maybe play ps4 in bed

+nicer screen and touch screen

-not interested in any games besides uncharted, mgshd, and maybe sly trilogy.

psp

+ has a lot of games i wanna try like silent hill origins, portable ops, ac!d

+ more likely to buy physical games

+overall the same emulating capability as the ps vita

- doesnt have remote play or uncharted golden abyss

unsure if id use it more for emulation further than ps1

all the nes/snes shit is on my 3ds

PSP is cheap as shit and easy to hack, better go with that one

>OP wants to try SIlent Hill Origins
Consider watching TRSHE before spending your money on something you'd regret.

I was about to be 'that guy' and recommend the PS TV, but then I saw that you want to play the Vita Uncharted Game. Though I've heard you still can if you do some kind of whitelist hack or something like that.

Im just kinda bored with my 3DS as comfy bed console (also using it when i travel on planes mostly.)

I think the biggest thing that appeals to me for the vita is overall the nicer screen, the ps2 library, and the uncharted game

remote play is absolute dogshit if the network in your home is anything less than stellar and only some titles support remoteplay

i have like, a fuckin industrial type router

I personally like to play games on my TV versus on a small screen, and I'm cheap, so I wen with the PS TV over a Vita. I love the little thing. I can play all the games I want to without having to resort to the whitelist hack. I'm not as familiar with the PSP library, but you should look to see if some of the PSP game you want to play are compatible with the Vita. I have Wild Arms XF and Persona 3 Portable on my PS TV.

oh then your good to go. I would just warn you to check that the titles you have/most want to play in bed are compatable before you buy.

i have a vita though and I love it. 99 percent of the ps1 and psp games that were available for the psp itself are also available for the vita for stupid cheap.

also the atelier series is big on the vita and its comfy as fuck (i actually call my vita the gust machine)

i think its just me having a preference of wanting the physical versions of the psp games

I can understand that. I usually prefer physical media too. Sony's proprietary memory cards are dumb.

If you're not into weeaboo games you can immediately dismiss the Vita because that's the main draw after you go through a handful of big releases it has.

Physical PSP games are fucking shit though

those little discs were indeed neat.

your opinion is

how big of a memcard for vita would you recommend probably for metal gear portable ops, silent hill origins, maybe peace walker, and maybe 4-5 psx games

also is the final fantasy x hd on vita good? Never tried any ff game outside of xv.

ffx is garbage, stick with the PS1 games

emuluation is shit on the psp

ps1 only works well by way of sony's black magic, everything else runs like garbage

go with biggest and then you never have to worry. i think 64 is the biggest sony makes but there is chinese knockoffs that go higher

fuck off shill

ive finished all the retro games on 3ds

psx would be the only emu im interested in

its really nice and polished, the games story itself has a split fandom. you either really like it or really hate it.

the fuck are you on about? a shill wouldnt have pitched the knockoffs.

fucking newfags trying to fit in...

Vita is objectively better when hacked.

I'd just emulate PSP though.

Don't forget those vita mem card prices are still crazy. Idk if they're as bad as they were but they're definitely still bad.

What this user said is true. You'll probably want at least 32GB. Just make sure to shop around for a good deal if you want to get an official brand card.

I haven't personally played, but I'm sure it's at least an improvement over the PS2 version.
the HD version of the FFIII and FFIV remakes are a nice start. You can get them on Steam or mobile devices.

If you won't be playing Vita games, don't get the Vita. PSP at 2x looks kinda weird, but the screen does get to fit 480i PS1 games unlike the PSP. You can also use MicroSD on PSP so that's a huge deal. Vita however had a second analog stick you can rebind.

32gb for just 3-4 psp games and 3-4 psx games?

Im not planning on getting vita games digitally.

They consistently ran worse than downloaded games, would screw up if the console was bumped around, and were so easy so scratch. Cool concept, but it's worse in every way than downloaded games.

16GB will do then, maybe even 8GB>

>Im not planning on getting vita games digitally.

neither was I. shit just happens though.
>t.guy who bought a 4gb card thinking he wouldnt need bigger and now has a 32

In that case, 16GB would probably be comfortable. You might even be able to get by with 8GB. Vita games still have to write some data to the card. All the bits add up.

then your psp was trash. i never had such problems.

either way there is trash involved.

Is borderlands 2 good on Vita? I didnt really like it and never got past the second area, might revisit if its portable.

>sonybro denial

It's pretty well known that physical games had longer load times. I wouldn't want to deal with that

Ok i think i'll probably just get a vita.

Thinking i'll start with

Metal gear Portable Ops

Silent Hill Origins (maybe shattered memories although i played it on wii)

MgsHD

Sly trilogy

Uncharted

Final Fantasy X

And a few psx, maybe borderlands 2 and the killzone game. Good choices?

>see this thread
>had a vita a few months ago but sold it
>want one back now

ok

Sounds like a good time to me. Hope you enjoy it, user-kun.

>tfw vita for newer stuff
>tfw hacked psp with a 64gb memory card loaded with emulators and a load of fun games.

Why not both?

Too much shit to manage when i could just have it all in one

I ordered a gpd xd yesterday. It looks promising from what I've seen and it's cheaper than the win version.

I'd recommend that over the psp but not over the vita.

oh god no. it was cool from a technical standpoint showing just how much power the vita had but as a game it was awefull.

make sure to check that some of those are downloadable for the vita. otherwidse sounds tits

What are you talking about?
This not PS3, almost all PS4 games supports remoteplay except PSVR/Move shit.

98.9% of PS4 games are remote play capable. Only games that specifically use the camera or motion based games won't work with it.. and dbz xenoverse 1 for whatever reason but that's literally the only games known to cause issues. I use my PS4/ vita combo almost always, and I don't even consider my vita a stand alone console anymore, but more as a mint PS4. That being said, get the vita.

PSP is dirt cheap and has tons of good portable games, it'll last you way longer for cheaper price tag.
Get PSP first, then save money while playing your PSP to get Vita later.
