Trying out a type of "Let's Read" idea for a series. This is where the real fun is, though I spent way too long editing it.

Eh, you'd be surprised. xCodeh pretty much blew up off of videos talking about how weed affected his life (how he got caught with it, the first time he got high, etc.) all over COD gameplay. Swoozie is famous from talking about how much he almost gets laid.

You start with the crappy sword, then you find the more powerful swords as teh game progresses. They also should've had this for the various weapon types.

Nothing. There's no meaningful descrepancies between weapon types. You seriously pick whatever has teh highest damage number, or whatever is available.

If you made combat behave differently based on weapon types, you would have much more interesting combat.

Combat in Breath of the Wild is so fucking boring. It's quite literally spamming attack to win.

You come across shrines and enemy camps all the time and they all drop you more weapons/chests with weapons. It's literally what the game is.

Well, guy who made the video here: I agree with this which is why I didn't bring up the point that it "encourages experimenting" which I hear all the time. There's nothing to experiment. The only meaningful difference is between fast swords and two-handed weapons imo and even then I kept relying on flurry rushes all the time.

Suggestion: anime reviews become more socially acceptable when your horizons expand to other kinds of shows and movies. If you're worried about looking like an autistic weeb just expand your content beyond weeb stuff.

If you want the issues with durablity here they are:

The durability system in the beginning is good. It works. It's good right until your inventory is full of not shit weapons.

You're consistently upgrading your garbage weapons with better, or equivalent weapons. So your stuff is constantly being broken, but you're also replacing it.

Then you reach a point where you have Guardian weapons, or good generic stuff like Edge of Duality, or the weapons from the dungeons. You can "waste" your good weapons on shit like Moblins, or you can just fucking ignore stuff because you'd just be wasting durability.

If there were ways to upgrade your durability, or the better weapons had significantly higher durability, this would be a non-issue.

You also have the issue where you can actually run out of weapons at boss fights. I had to kill water blight ganon with bombs as my weapons all broke.

I don't think higher durability on those would help though, it would just encourage ignoring monsters even harder. I honestly can't think of a solution to this issue, though.

Breath of the Wild is good, but it's far from perfect.

You have a lot of really small problems that people have a tendency to ignore, or gloss over.

Anyone who gives Breath of the Wild a 10 deserves to have their opinions discarded forever. The technical issues alone are grounds for whatever the minimal increment of your arbitrary rating system is (whether it be a 1, or a 0.1)

Thats not even getting into how combat is gutted, and how the world is just a little too big with nothing in it except 900 korok seeds where your reward for collecting them all is a literal shit.
