Professor is best!
Toukiden 2
Does the game being open world really add anything?
or is it really just more of the same just without the loadtime between zones like in the first game or any "hunting" type games?
Professor is pretty overrated.
My Vita copy of the game is coming from amazon tomorrow. Hope I didn't make a mistake.
I've seen Vita screens posted in these threads and this port isn't looking very pretty.
Lots of cool moments of running into giant beasts or have a beast surprise you while you fight another.
Lots of fun areas to explore and side quests to find.
I always enjoy running across a slayer surrounded by a group of demons fighting alone. After rescuing him or her, they join you as you go take on the quest boss across the field.
tl;dr: It's pretty great.
Yes, professor is best!
I mean it wasn't a mistake to buy the game but probably the vita version was. Sorry m8
Nobody else find white thigh highs super hot?
The moment I saw her concept art, I knew.
It lessens the niche and opens up the sales to general RPG audience. Think Dragon's Dogma.
The screenshots I've seen of the Vita version looked 3DS levels of graphics.
compared to spaced areas like toukiden 1 or MH-serie, openworld feels dozen times better. Also, there is less loading screens.
As for world itself, it doesn't add that much aside few hidden easter eggs and other little shit.
Posting best boy who isn't Soma.
What are some nice mitamas for knives?
Her art vs in game model is the most different compared to other waifus. They really fucked up her model.
Beni is the closest.
It does feel a bit more interesting, actually adding in verticality is nice when the first game didn't have any at all.
There is something odd about certain monsters drops only occuring when you're on an actual mission, I don't really like that they only seem to really drop money when you're just messing around in the open world. Seems almost pointless.
I only played Toukiden on Vita, I wouldn't know. It looked just fine for what the console is capable of and I like having my hunting games on handheld.
Her model makes her look about ten years younger for some reason. Kind of weird, but I like both.
So how are you supposed to use the Tenko? Do they only help you purify things?
How do you increase their affection towards you?
Been using one for a while now and they still have 0 affection.
Also why is the robot so useless? Upgraded it 3 times now and it still has a low success chance even on the first area.
Is there anything the Demon Hand CANT do?
I think I glitched the game
Remove garments in the bath.
This games looks fun but I'll wait for the inevitable Kiwami version.
you got some big tiddies user
feed tenko, get more loot and one extra fast oni-limb purifier. Time+food=affection
>Introduce a new weapon with three different modes
>One mode has both obscenely high hitrate AND a powerful charge move
>All the other weapons are more or less the same as the last game
This is one of the most bizarre choices I've seen in these kinds of games. The SnS is so much more complicated than the other weapons, even the Switch Axe and Charge Blade weren't anywhere near as much of a leap from previous MonHun weapons.
Thank you.
Kaguya needs penis
how do i talk to kaguya after i finished the story? can't even find the sekrit path she told earlier
I thought I would hate it but it's my favorite right now.
Grab on an oni, revive party members, and holding the oni in place for 15 seconds
Why are long low twintails so fucking perfect?
is sword and shield really that good? Have not tested it myself yet as i'm in love with chain whip/whip sword.
SnS would eventually get nerfed for being too good like CnS and Rifle
You feed Tenko, then you can take them with you. They attack too, but the most useful part is purifying things.
I believe you raise their affections like in the first game by talking to them in the wild. So while the Tenko is with you, you want to talk to it whenever it gives you the option to. I can't verify that's how it works, but that's what I did and I have my Tenkos with 2+ affections.
Be careful taking them against hard stuff though. They can get injured and leave, and that results in 0 happiness instantly.
Robot is super useless. I'm in post game and finally got enough resources to start upgrading it. After upgrading its attack to 4 and search to 4, it is still low chance for even the first few maps. I basically said fuck it.
It's an illusion of choice. The best Mitamas for it all encourage you to stay in attack mode to build up offense meter that way, so you are really just playing dual wielding swords. You can play the shield for fun with parry moon stance and such, but it is not as optimal. Though I still prefer to mess around in shield just for fun personally.
That's not to say it's not good though. It's really good, but it's just not as complicated as it seems at first.
It's good, but it's not better than other weapons.
No matter how you do it, you're basically spamming parry/moon stance/auto attack in defense, switch to offense then spam the wolverine move then finish the needle. Repeat. It's neat, but I wouldn't say it's actually more difficult to play.
Something like a Naginata with its need to parry all the time is actually a lot harder to master.
I'm not saying it's bad, it's fucking amazing. It's just that it's got so much going on compared to the old weapons that I find myself using it and rarely anything else. It's not even that it's too good a weapon, it just does more stuff and the variety is too neat to let go.
I've no idea about its actual performance vs other weapons, but it's an absolute blast to use. It's kind like the Charge Blade if you sped it up to near stylish action levels.
I need to try the chainwhip, it looks kind of neat in its own right.
It doesn't really need a nerf, the other weapons just need to be give more options. I hate to say it after MHX, but this is one of the few hunting games where stylish shit actually compliments the gamepaly.
I got mats for companion weapons from the mail but still can't craft them, what else do I need?
>ask if i'm tagging along
>tell this bitch i will be hokage
they really nailed translations on this one
CnS was stylish in kiwami and neither is it overpowered yet it got nerfed while the dual daggers that needs nerfing didn't
how many phases for online?
Just farmed my orochi armor
How do SPT abilities scale? Is club wizard a thing?
They probably scale based on your weapon damage like all the other abilities.
From experience, yeah SPT stuff hits like a truck.
However, I'm not sure if club wizard would work all that well. It's obviously viable, but there's just not much synergy there.
Should be good. Club their feet, and use SPT to shoot the wings.
I think I saw 12 being the max. Then there's also extra DLC missions throughout the phases.
Playing optimally, you'll probably find yourself using only a few moves for most weapons in general. If you're just playing for fun and not worrying about damage output, the SnS does have a lot going on compared to the other weapons. And it's not difficult to use, but that's not really an issue. I mained Naginata for the whole of Kiwami and didn't have any trouble using it effectively, something like the Club's counter seems more troublesome because of its lengthy cooldown between actions.
I never found myself having particularly high DPS with the knives, to be honest. Maybe because I invariably went for weapons I liked the look of over stats.
Does Toukiden 2 have a Shikimi?
Just equip SPD mitamas in every fucking slot. Prioritize Vigor and Mirage boosts.
>vigor + mirage + gauntlets special
Fucking wreckage everytime.
Does Toukiden 2 have a nice GS equivalent? Im am oldschool hunter from ps2 days and GS purist. Played Toukiden Kiwami but couldn't get that same satisfying weight vs risk payoff in that.
What is a good Mitama type for Rifles? Is spirit still good?
No, replaced by a vastly inferior character.
#notmyshrinemaide
At least she can cook.
Kuon
The difference is, while a lot of the other weapons have few moves unlike the SnS, there are a lot of rooms for skill if you want to truly master it.
You can beat the whole game with Naginata without mastering the parry, but a player has the option to master it to min-max their kill time or do it for fun.
SnS doesn't really have a mechanic like that. You just find a foot and stab away basically. There are other weapons like this too like the Gauntlets, but I was just pointing out that despite how "complex" it looks initially, SnS is actually on the easier side of the weapons when you look at their skill ceilings.
I'm enjoying chain whip, but it feels really simple. I'm probably not utilizing the exploding kunai particularly well, though.
>Hatsuho is back
I'm very okay with this.
You can do , but I generally like precision + focus return on precision type of builds for my fast weapons that use focus.
You can stack 3 Fervors or use people with final abilities that include the Fervor effects. After that, just get a weapon with good dex, and you can spin forever.
Stick kunais on things, use the grappling move instead of claw to be more precise in where you wanna "fly" to, then hammer away at that location until you are ready to blow it up.
It seems simple, but it gets tricky to do it effectively and not get hit as monsters get harder.
>Tfw the game is so Japanese that the main character looks like a Westaboo when using one
>Got a Mitama that turns all jumping attacks into precision strikes
This has to be a typo. That sounds incredibly broken
This is a stupid thing to complain about, but I feel like there's way too many fucking weapons. Just going down the list of the first rank of weapons and it feels like there's so much redundancy.
>can now disable voice chat in launcher settings
thanks KT
Jumping attack refers to the attack you do while landing after an oni grapple, I think.
Are you referring to all the weapons that got unlocked after getting the first tiger pelts? That's kinda necessary tho, those elemental weapons are the star of all the various trees and offer a lot of interesting choices (do you prefer more raw or elemental damage? How much precision would you like?).
What is going on with chain and sickle? It feels like it's missing half it's moveset.
It's such a braindead weapon
It's a bad way to translate it, but it's probably impossible to translate it correctly.
It actually means the first attack after your demon hand only. When you demon hand towards something then hit attack, the game calls this attack a "Jumping attack". Other attacks made in air with Naginata, chain whip, or whatever are not considered jumping attacks.
Is there a way to see the tree somewhere? I'm interested if some of the tier 2 weapons can be forged into tier 5 or something.
Where the fuck are all the SPEED Mitama AAAAAAAAAAA.
3 chapters in and I have yet to see any.
Are you referring to the chain part? Lock on the the enemy.
Not that I know of, not in game at least. My rule of thumb is that a boss weapon of a specific element begins with one of the two level 1 weapons of the same element At least, it has been consistent so far.
Did you try the Club? It's sort of an in-between of MonHun's Hammer and GS.
It's probably just my silly habit from the first game and monster hunter of trying to go down every single weapon tree that's complaining more than anything else. Probably ought to take a better look at what's available.
Only the first attack every time you get airborne.
which class is the most fun?
Half it's moveset is in the air, have you been flying?
>trying to go down every single weapon tree
That will take you forever, user.
so how the fuck do you scale SPT
Should you stop in the middle of a fight to purify parts?
It doesn't seem to stop them from having Phantom limbs
The parts will go back as real limbs if you don't purify in time. You might also miss the materials.
If anything, helping purifying the parts will allow your OP ai partners to return to the fights faster.
They scale based on weapon "tier".
If you don't purufy them, the ony will later on do a move to "regain" them. Besides, "phantom" parts are weare and change the oni's moveset slightly, making them usually clumsier. Not as powerful as oni burial which removes them entirely, but no reason not to purify them.
Kek, if you bring a Tenko with you on open world Manazuru fights better the opposite for Kamuna
Is there a more cancerous oni than the Aurogrinder? I posit that there is not
Quadracyccips, lop off its legs and enjoy your cancer
Official Ranking (Females):
Kaguya = Hakase > Manazuru > Hatshuho > Kuon > Benizuki > Tsubaki > [Power Gap] > American
Official Ranking (Male):
Tokitsugu = Kuyo > [Power Gap] > Homura > Touya > Raizo > Kamuna > Guard Leader
>vastly inferior
Short hair is infinitely better.
That's wrong. The power gap is after Touya.
No, inferior due to not showing shoulders.
Also Blackjack
I've gone DCT/SPD/DCT (Oiwa/Soga no Iruka/Yagyu Jubei) for my knives. Focused on high precision and bonuses for crits from Puncture + Contagion
>Everyone on Sup Forums calls Gwen an American
>Everyone on Sup Forums mocks Gwen
>Everyone on Sup Forums shit talks Gwen
What the fuck did she do in-game.
those geopulses, what are they for?
Post waifus
She wasn't used much, so that equates boring. She basically showed up then was nowhere to be found for like 40 chapters. Then she randomly becomes relevant again for her sword family sheningan, then you don't talk with her again until the end.
>she can cook
She raped a karakuri.
>The screenshots I've seen of the Vita version looked 3DS levels of graphics.
you're a fool.
Comparing to the first game, this game is a lot less lewd. Why is that?
SJW?
>buy this on PC
>the online is dead
A-at least the story is ok
>He hasn't heard Hakase wanting the dick in the bath
I guess. I'm reminded how Nagi had a v neck, the Shrine maiden was showing shoulder and legs.
This game, the most lewd dressed character is Beni, but that's it.
Why do you guys call her that name? I know her real name, but I don't remember anyone saying hakase
PCfags pirated it, laughed at console fags, then got butter hurt when there was no mouse support.
Wrong.
For their first open world game Koei did decent. They just need to add more RPG features and marriage/children then things will get fun.
are you suggesting to turn this into rune factory
As long as they improve the child generator. The children you can make in DW8E were mostly terrifying.
Is the Aurogrinder a rare oni? I just beat one and all the armor you can make from him is treasure related.
