Emulation ain't illegal.

I don't believe there is anything illegal, and doing so would likely just draw attention to CEMU.

underage posting will result in a ban

I'm not 100% sure on the legalities of this kind of thing, but if it really were illegal and Nintendo could file a lawsuit, they would've done it a long time ago. They're notoriously over-protective of their shit.

because that is never gonna happen. Has that sunk in for you yet OP?

Emulation literally isn't illegal.

Because they have no legal leg to stand on?

...

Emulation software is not illegal mate

>and/or
>can be held
the emulators themselves aren't illegal

This video isn't terrible

I can say that anyone who says my name out loud will be held liable for copyright and trademark violations. It doesn't mean it will actually hold in court.

Does not matter just because Nintendo says so they aren't going to say on their official site its legal, owning ROM is illegal if you do not own the game since its copyrighted material.

Emulators themselves are perfectly legal its original code someone made to emulate a consoles behavior.

Do some research sometime, Sony tried to shut down two commercial PS1 emulators in the late 90's early 00's and both times Sony lost in court. Bleem is particular was creating a Sony emulator for the dreamcast and selling it, they still lost in court but Bleem did end up shutting down because of legal costs but not because of the result of the lawsuit.

It set a precedent and emulator developers have never been sued again.

Why would Nintendo give a shit a about emulator for a dead console?

Because its main priority right now is perfecting emulation of BotW which is easily the biggest system seller of the switch.

Nobody gave a shit about cemu before they showed that zelda emulation was possible

whats even more crazy is Sony bought the company that emulated the Playstation on Mac. Steve Jobs even introduced the emulator at a macworld event.

and nobody will give a shit about it again once they get over the Zelda.
Why do you think the devs are trying milk as much money out it as they can before the Zelda hype dies down?

Yeah and then as expected they shut the company down and ceased development of the emulator.

Wouldn't surprise me really the developers probably got a good chunk of change for the buy out knowing they would be shutdown.

Lawsuits are okay if Nintendo does it

Switch will have other games to sell the system. It's just not worth for them to try to take them down over one game. Especially since even the BotW emulation is still pretty far from perfect.
If anything CEmu is working kinda as demo for Nintendo atm. People try BotW on CEmu, get frustrated because it doesn't work and buy it for Switch/Wii U:

And the absolute fucking madmans actually did it. 25,000$ per fucking month. A lot of game developers don't get to make that much money

>illegal copying devices CAN be held liable
>CAN
It's only if they're using the same coding as Nintendo for their hardware. It's usually better creating your own code since it runs better then its actual console most of the time. It falls under fair use.

I've just finished playing as far as I could in Cemu, and it definitely needs at least a few more updates before its ready to be completely playable. At this point, you can't get off the great plateau using a new game save since stasis and magnesis don't work yet. Water also doesn't work outside of the cryonisis temple. Fps is a meme, it runs 15 fps base, but using a speed hack with cheatengine gets it up to a manageable pace. Hopefully by 1.7.4 it'll be completely playable.

This video is strangely timely and useful.

DRM is okay if CEmu does it.
