Human the best

Human fighter is the most aesthetic choice because they are a blank slate that you can fill any personality in. I always play a human fighter on my first playthrough to get a feel of the game and decide what I want to roleplay as on the go (assuming roleplaying is an option, which it hasn't been in a while) and then on second playthroughs I branch out after I get a feel of the story and think of the most thematic possible characters.

I kinda forgot about monks because not many video games include an option for one, and in D&D they've always been pretty meh.
They're okay thematically, but they lack the potential for growth in terms of game mechanics. While other characters can get phat loot, monks/unarmed fighters are usually limited to claws or knuckles, which already makes it less impressive than punching people with bare hands.

At best they have some utility buffs but that's usually it.
