Is this worth playing? How come i never hear anyone talk about it?

Yeah, it's short and probably equivalent to 8 ratchet and clank planets, but it's fun
Because it's really short and doesn't even run 60fps.
Half the game, half the frame.
Makes sense
Its very short and the story is try hard trash
It's okey
It was fine, probably the least memorable of the real Ratchet games though.
What about Quest for booty?
It's honestly one of my favorite Ratchet games. It was a full game it'd probably be my favorite. Worth a play if you're a fan.
Hijacking your thread OP to say that Deadlocked had the best combat and humor in the series
no i hate that game
>god tier
UYA & ACiT
>great tier
R&C (original) & GC
>good tier
deadlocked & ToD
>okay tier
Nexus & R&C (remake)
>bad tier
SM & QfB
>shit tier
A4O, FFF, SAC
>SM & QfB
They werent that bad tho
man original Drek was so good
I just played through the remake this last week and while I enjoyed the improvements to gameplay I hated the removal of so many worlds and the bland music and the fucked story
Comparing it to the to the ps2 games it's pretty shit
It's great in terms of the controls and how nice the weapons feel, but it's like 4 hours long to beat it and maybe 6-8 to 100% it including maxing your weapons. It also has massive framerate problems at times.
>Original R&C
>Great
Take off the nostalgia goggles. R&C 1 is pretty shit in terms of mechanics and gameplay when compared to the others. It's way more stiff and less content. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's not 2 tiers better than Nexus or PS4.
It's a little on the short side and the framerate is ass. I enjoyed it though and it's very pretty for a PS3 game.
If you can get a copy cheap I'd say go for it. Definitely one of the better R&C games overall.
It is great, the ONLY fucking reason you say its not is because you cant strafe, but all the enemies are designed around you not being able to strafe so its no problem
It's got really good worlds/music/story, it feels almost like a different series entirely playing it nowadays since GC set the formula for the rest of the games
PS2 games = good
PS3/4 games = poo
It's a console game, I could have dealth with the framerate. What was unacceptable was the audio going out of synch constantly. I had the same problem with Insomniac other PS3 game, Resistance 3.
Console game or no, dropping to half your target framerate regularly is unacceptable. I only forgive Nexus because it was so damn pretty - it wasn't an optimization problem, it was just pushing the PS3 too far.
>muh strafe
Fuck off. I have replayed R&C1 so many times even after the others it's still good. The game is not a fucking TPS like the rest of the series, you don't need to strafe and aim well, the enemy AI isn't designed around it. Use your fucking wrench. There are no upgrades so every area is balanced for every weapon including the wrench. After 3 the idea of Upgrades got tired anyways, it was just grinding after a certain point. I actually liked that 1 didn't have it. Remember 1 is a straight up platformer. It has guns but you are meant to use them like a platformer powerup. Charge enemies and spray and pray on your way there and then once you have closed the gap pull the wrench out and melee them and dodge their attacks.
The lock on and strage overly shooter gameplay in 3 was too far. I actually enjoyed 1 more than 3. 2 had the perfect balance of both though.
2 > 1 > 3 = ACiT >>>>> Rest of the games.
>tfw no proper platformer sequel to R&C1's gameplay
Honestly getting sick of all the R&C2 clones by this point. They are way to formulaic now.
Playing UYA on vita right now
What an experience comfy in bed, like I'm a kid with no cares again
They need to tone down the upgrade system
5 different levels and the raritanium grid means everything "improvement" is so small you cant tell the difference
Id get rid of levels, because it encourages the use of one weapon
and make it so you upgrade through raritanium, which you get through exploration, but instead of like 50 squares on a grid theres like 3, and each one makes a big difference
I liked it a lot
GC did the upgrade system perfectly. It encouraged the use of your weapon. An upgrade system through raritanium would only result in grinding for raritanium to upgrade all your weapons instead of organically unlocking the upgrades by playing the game.
5 levels worked perfectly in UYA though, there were noticeable changes through each upgrade. Raritanium is what needs to go.
>An upgrade system through raritanium would only result in grinding
no the current leveling system encourages grinding
If raritanium was found in the same why golden bolts are then finding all of them would allow you to max out all guns by the end of a playthrough. Could just use the gold bots actually
*upgrades*
I like the raritanium grid though, it makes each playthrough more unique because I can focus on different weapons
I liked the first games weapons because they were balanced too bad none of them were in the remake it would have interesting to see what their upgrades would have been
it was stronger when it was "upgraded" but you couldn't wave it around like a flamethrower anymore it was basically turned into
a machine gun
>Could just use the gold bots actually
Indeed, but that is also why I said the upgrade system in GC was perfect, not the other games. Raritanium in R&C games just gives me nightmares.
It was somewhat of a let down that it completely changed, but at the same time it was still a pretty good gun, worked great as a Lancer replacement and the upgraded version was strong as hell like you say. Found it funny how in 3 they changed it's upgrade to the Liquid Nitrogen Gun which worked the same as the original.
I think UYA did it well with the noticable changes to the weapon each time. Raritanium is a fairly boring way to upgrade weapons I reckon. Deadlocked was shit in terms of weapon leveling (fkn lvl99 weapons with no change)
damn that would be nice. I usually hit up the old ps3 when I get keen for some nostalgia.
Getting a vita...I'd probably do it just for that.
put GC on god tier and QfB and SM in okay tier and I might agree
this desu, Havent played Size matters but quest for booty was good, just really short.
It was a last Gen game released only a weeks before the PS4's launch, so it got overshadowed by all the next Gen hype. Also, the story was extremely short and largely forgettable. Still a good game though.
Yeah the meteor gun with lock-on mod is actually pretty useful, sad some people still don't know that.
